I recently discovered Up The River Dispensary in downtown Ossining (near train station and 3Westerly) hands down--beyond 10/10, 5, premium products, utmost confidence in their solutions and they go above and beyond in service. From the minute you walk in (door furthest right), you'll see Pat's security either at the 'door of bliss' or by the window. Pat opens the entry door and WOW, this place feels less like a dispensary and more like a low-lit, modern speakeasy meets adult candy store meets relaxed hidden gem hiding in plain sight--just up the river!
As someone living with a rare neuro movement disorder, legal blindness, fibromyalgia, and multiple autoimmune conditions, finding a dispensary that actually *sees me* is rarer than my disorder itself it seems. From the moment Pat (Head of Security / Lead Budtender) and Ryan (Owner) greeted and introduced themselves to my brother and I-- there was an immediate sense of safety, calm, HEARD, and never rushed or judged. No question was too small, too "medical," or too complex.
Ryan is the heart of this place--you feel it immediately. He is meticulous. His focus isn't on a quick sale; it's on education, relief, and real human, patient-centric connection and recreational of course. He took the time to walk me through concentrates, MEGA edibles, and alternatives in a way I could actually interpret--even with ADHD and brain fog.
That level of care is everything and probably saved me that day in more ways than they realize.
I let them know my budget with gratuity, and we went over best bang for your buck per serving and as a whole, as there's simply a vast assortment nowadays! I left that place super relieved, empowered, educated, smiling, feeling supported and yes--looking fresh thanks to the sweet merch (the corduroy hat is so perfect w oversized chunky sweater, leggings & chucks.)
