I was looking for a tattoo shop that took walk-in appointments, and Lucky Draw Tattoo did not disappoint. My friend recommended I check them out because her tattoo artist from Sarasota, Florida has been here before. I'm so happy with my experience and I know I'll be back for future tattoos. Parking: They are located in the Marietta Square, right next to The Local. I parked in the square, which is free parking. There is also a paid lot and a parking garage nearby if you happen to stop by during a super busy time. Reservations: I can't speak to making reservations as I did a walk-in appointment. I went on a Friday, about 40 minutes after they opened. My friend and I were the only ones there (that we saw) and a few people came in to ask questions about piercings (which they also do!). Vibe: The staff was super nice and attentive. The artist asked what I wanted and I sent him pictures of what I had in mind. He went to go do the sketch and came back shortly when it was done. He was so patient with me when I asked to see it in various forms and wasn't upset when I went with the original idea he had presented. I've done a walk-in appointment before at a different place in North Carolina and it took forever. That's what I was kind of expecting here, but this experience was so fast and I love my new tattoo! I went to the Marietta Square Lucky Draw, made an appt for 3, was there at 2:55, waited for an hour while Chris finished up with a customer, then ate lunch.. Anyway, he was nice enough, changed the design some to my request, but I am SO unhappy with the result. I've only had one tattoo before so I'm not an expert but I was hoping it would lighten up after a few days.. I went to the location in Marietta Square. Ashley pierced my industrial piercing. He was very careful, quick and the piercing itself is not as painful as I thought it'd be. So far I've gotten my industrial, lip and nose piercing here and they were all quick and practically painless but still it is a needle going through your skin. Even though Lucky Draw Tattoo has "tattoo" in its name, they do piercings as well. And that's the reason I went into Lucky Draw Tattoo, to get my prince albert done. Just kidding, I went in to take pictures of my friend getting her conch and tragus pierced. The place looks nice and clean inside. The person who did the piercing, Ashley, seemed friendly and informative. He explained what he was going to do and how it was going to feel. He seemed to follow good cleanliness by using fresh needles and sterilizing the body part and the area where the piercing was done. My friend is a female. And I noticed how Ashley, who is a male, did not try to touch her unless he was doing the actual piercing. For example, when my friend's hair was getting in they way, he didn't brush it away himself, he asked her or her friend to do it. I liked that because it gives off a comfortable and non-creepy environment. My friend said the piercings only pinched a little. So it didn't cause much pain. So it seems like he took good care of her. Even though I didn't get the piercing myself, I liked how everything had a friendly, warm, and comfortable environment. read more

So about a month or so ago I said... It's time to get another tattoo. And another tattoo I got. I remember checking out lucky draw in the square twice before I decided to get my tat done there. I had nothing to go on except gumption and checking out the artwork in the notebooks on the front counter. I didn't really care who did it since I knew nothing about the artists there, but when it boiled down to it I was satisfied with Shahki, who ended up doing my tattoo. So I'd made my appointment for 8pm on a Friday. And I enjoy tattoo artist schedules because usually they're in no hurry, so after filling out paper work and waiting a bit longer he got started on my tattoo a bit after 8:30... I mean he's about to drag a needle across my skin... no rush no rush at all. The studio is upstairs, and has really cool artwork to check out. I really liked the clock that was going in reverse on the wall. So I actually got to lay down because he ended up tattooing the inside of my right arm and it was convenient for him and comfortable for me. However the one thing that got me was my hand fell asleep, I mean into a deep sleep... every single digit on my hand was super numb, so I had to stop him a few times to try to get the feeling back into my hand, but I eventually gave up... who needs fingers. But I finally got the blood flowing in my fingers again as he finished my arm. I was very happy with the work and the way he tattooed my arm. He wasn't heavy handed as I've experienced before, and added really good color to my skull. He didn't get annoyed at my random chatter, he was quite the trooper having to deal with someone as goofy as I am. Anyway, all in all, the studio was clean and all the tools and the entire process was neat, clean and I wasn't worried about a thing. So I'm definitely a fan of this shop, and when I can save up for my next tat, I will be back!! read more

I walked in for my first tattoo a week ago. Jay ended up helping me out. He was super patient with me, as I was clearly nervous about the whole thing. He insured me that I could do it and it wasn't that bad. He drew out the design I wanted and made sure it was perfect. Two hours later it was on my leg and I couldn't be happier. It's also the cleanest place I've ever been. I walked in right as they were opening and all the staff members were wiping everything down and it smelled like a hospital. I'm was definitely impressed. We called ahead and told them that she doesn't have a DL yet but could we bring her birth certificate and school ID and they said yes. We drive all the way there, fill out the paperwork, and the kid working there said he was going to "go get the tattoo ready" but instead he went outside to call his manager! He comes back in and says that he knows he said it was ok before but now he doesn't feel comfortable cause her school ID is "blurry"...that pic is more clear than my state issued driver's license. We went into this "well-known" establishment for small hearts on our collar-bone. (Sister hearts) They look terrible. BOTH OF THEM!!!??? Our heart tattoos were bigger on one side than the other and neither were filled in. We spoke to the "artist" Dale about it the same day and he said once healed to come back in, no problem. Once we came back by to discuss the next move... We were totally shunned like it was irrelevant! When speaking to Dale about fixing our "Measly" little hearts he said "I do not have time, that I have a six hour tattoo in the booth. That we should of called before just showing up" throwing his hands in the air. --mind you....we never suggested he needed to stop what he was doing. We just wanted to discuss the next move. We were already nervous about them fixing it! When we walked out, I came back in to grab a business card. I literally heard Dale running his mouth about the situation to his client! Once we became more upset,due to the lack of professionalism, someone else "offered" to help, being just as rude as the first guy. He offered to help once we asked to speak to management. Yes, he offered to fix them right then! However, he smugly told us that he would be more inclined to help us if we would calm down! That's the problem...no one wanted to hear anything we actually had to say. Or answer questions. We were just an absolute annoyance. No, thank you! I would rather pay for someone else to fix this disaster. I was actually scared of the result, otherwise. We will surely make it a point to tell every one just how horrible the experience was. I have had all my cartilage piercings and my nose piercing done by Ashley at Lucky Draw. He is impeccably clean, he shows an enormous amount of care and knowledge for his craft and he will tell you this honest truth about the piercing you ask for (how long will it take to heal, will it look good on your body part). I really wanted a septum piercing but I don't have the right shape nose for it. Ashley was very honest with me. And I have searched and searched and I've never found someone with my shape nose that has one! He is great! I love having piercing done here. I asked about a cartilage piercing...was told it would be $60 for one with a diamond stud...& he kept on about how it could go up to $95. That wasn't happening! Absolutely no way. Overpriced and overrated. Called Inksomnia and same piercing - same stud - $40. Was in and out in 5 minutes. Would not recommend if you want fair pricing. I have three very large original pieces that were tattooed by Phillip Duke. These were not ordinary flash photos chosen off of the wall. Two are intricate original Korean scroll designs and I can say that I never thought anyone would be able to ink them true to the original. I was correct, they weren't as good - they were even better than the original scrolls for the designs. Phillip is amazing, professional and artistic. Unlike many tattoo artists that will give no feedback or care to art itself and simply tell a customer "you decide what it looks like, it's not going on me"; Phillip has and will freely give his opinion artistically in relation to color, size and design. Their prices are more than reasonable and the staff is very down to earth and friendly - no God complexes or bad attitudes! And I love the new Marietta shop - it's classy, hip and funky. Lucky draw has never disappointed me. Ashley has done all my cartilage piercings, belly button, septum, and nostril. He's super quick and clean, makes the process really quick. Today I came in for my first tattoo. It was a walk in and Shahki was my artist. I showed him the inspiration pictures I wanted on my phone and he had me email him the pictures as he went upstairs to do the sketch. About fifteen minutes later he came down with the sketch and it was exactly as I wanted it. I followed him upstairs as he placed the stencil and asked if the placement was right and everything. The entire tattoo took an hour to do. The process was pretty easy, it wasn't nearly as bad as most people make it seem. I almost fell asleep because I felt so relaxed. read more

I came here a little under a year ago to get my first tattoo and I was very disappointed with my experience, however I had already had my tattoo drawn and decided to go through with the appointment despite the rudeness the employees showed me. I have never felt more upset about the way a person had treated me in my life. On Tuesday of this past week, my friend asked me where I got my tattoo and I took her here, hoping that my poor experience was due to a fluke accident, but we were met with the same arrogance and lack of respect by the artists. They mocked my friend for being picky about a design that is about to be on her body for the rest of her life and upset her so much that we ended up just leaving without even seeing their work. SO. I got my nose pierced here. Cool right? Nope it sucked. I chose a hoop with a ball. I only had the piercing for an extremely short time before the ball on the hoop literally fell out and the hoop just remained. This was in the morning I went to work and decided to go back after to get it fixed. The hoop apparently shifted and the membrane or whatever closed just enough so that only a part of the hoop was in the piercing. I went after work and they decided that if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay full price for another nostril piercing. I declined because that is ridiculous. So long story short. I was pretty upset about that. Would not recommend. If the service had been better I may have become a customer for tattoos and other piercings. So I normally don't write reviews but I'm feeling that I was lied to and or misled so here goes... A while ago I went to All or Nothing Tattoos to get an ear piercing that involved my tragus (which was already pierced and healed) and my forward helix (which was not pierced). I showed the guy piercer the picture of the piercing and he told me I would have to get my forward helix pierced first and then I could come back to him in a couple of months once it healed to get the desired ear piercing (the tragus and the forward helix connected). I was like cool, so that day I got my forward helix pierced (only because I wanted them connected!). A couple months later I go back to All or Nothing Tattoos and now he's charging me to get the piercings connected (when he told me it would be free of charge) so I walked out! So today, I was like I really want this piercing (if I have to pay for it, I rather go someplace new rather than go back to All or Nothing Tattoos where I was lied to or misled about the charging). I go to Lucky Draw and the piercing guy was like no I don't feel comfortable doing that piercing( the tragus connected to the forward helix). Then he asked his piercing friend sitting on the couch if he would feel comfortable doing it and he said no. To my suprise, The piercing guy who was sitting on the couch was the same dude from All or Nothing Tattoos that told me he would do it for me in the first place!!! I definitely would not recommend the piercer on the couch because he's not honest!!! read more
