I visited in July of 2026 with my daughter and granddaughter and loved the place. It has a…read morefantastic selection of books which were well organized and easy to find. I loved how it was arranged by themes. I stumbled upon a table with bird-themed books and found a delightful poetry book of birds aptly named The Book of Bird Poems. So when I drove up from SC to visit I had to see what all the fuss was about. Sadly, I took more videos than photos as umm be posting them to my author and book pages (@shewriteswithknives). So if you're wanting an interior look by me you'll have to check there at a later date. Now let's get into it. Pressed is cute. Very cute! This bookstore had a particular charm that made me want to look everywhere at once without being overloaded. I was excited to see they had less mainstream books, thus making their selection a bit wider. I somehow managed to only buy one book and paired it with a lavender matcha iced latte. On top of their book selection they have several cute stickers, hats, candles and assorted bookish knickknacks to enhance your reading experience. I'm very glad I was able to drop by.

E&F is a clean, welcoming, community-forward coffee shop located in downtown Erie. The space itself is small enough to feel cozy with plenty of seating options, including high-top and low-top tables, two couches, and a bar along the front window, which is great for people who want to spend some time there. There are plenty of outlets and two private bathrooms, both stocked with sanitary products. Drink wise, you won't find an elaborate list of over the top designer lattes here but they do have a seasonal beverage or two and a variety of syrups (rose, lavender, caramel, etc) you can add to enhance your drink. I'm a sucker for their mocha. It's so rich and delicious without being heavy or overly sweet. They also have some baked goods & some of the best ice cream sandwiches I've ever had. Recently, Ember & Forge installed a free food pantry outside, another reflection of their deep commitment to our community. It's easy to feel good supporting a business like that.

Service provided for a pre-ordered pineapple upside down cake was bad. It was ordered a week prior…read more Agreed pickup would be about 5pm the evening before it was needed, and the owner forgot! It was agreed she'd deliver it to the location in the morning. It was needed before 2pm but the plan was to have it there in the AM. Because she forgot, and it was unsure if she'd come through, a homemade cake was made just in case. It wasn't until 1:15 that she texted on way!! Cake arrived, a bit sloppy and still warm. Ended up with two cakes. The whole point was not to bake the night before and yet, $50 later, still had to! The cake was basic with pineapple on it. Not bad just not great, for bakery cake. A bit dry. Not as expected. It's too bad because she came recommended by other local bakers and she's a very nice lady. She offers poetry nights and displays artists work. I'd recommend for that. I cannot speak about the beverages or other foods/desserts. The cafe gets 3 stars because of the community events and she offers other items I didn't try. But I will not pre-order items or recommend anyone to do so.
