Lucerne has been our family's go-to bakery for decades. I love it here, and it's one of the few Cuban bakeries that hasn't changed their recipes (not too much, anyway). The pastelito de carne is still scrumptious, and the pastelito de guayaba still uses real guayaba and not that neon pink nastiness. Some of the other less popular pastelitos leave something to be desired, but the pillowy soft and warm fresh baked pan cubano more than makes up for it.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. Place looks identical as it has for 40 years. The bread is awesome.

Does anyone here know if Lucerne Bakery is closed permanently or just closed for remodeling? We drove by the bakery this morning and there was a crew of workers tearing it apart.

Hi Bette, they are definitely not closed permanently however they did close earlier in the day today due to remodeling the front but they will be open again like normal tomorrow :)

What stands out to me with Domaselo is that they're very proud of their bread and it shows in their consistent friendly customer service. They're also willing to offer samples to ensure you will enjoy your loaf at home - all you have to do is ask! I will say, depending on what time you arrive they may be sold out on certain options - you may want to order online for pickup (or delivery) if you are set on ordering a certain choice. There is plenty of parking available especially with how fast moving the line is. They have multiple flavors (listed in pics) with pricing. Don't be intimidated by what may seem like higher than normal prices for bread, once you take your first bite you'll know it's money well spent. What makes it exciting to come back is that they come out with new flavors so you're always in for a surprise. P.S: there is fresh butter and chocolate hazelnut spread for sale, and I notice the butter is always sold out! I will definitely make sure to try these one day!

It's been a while since I've gone to a restaurant and the service and food quality was so amazing that it literally made me stop in my tracks but here we are! I started with a hot mocha latte. I am a coffee snob and this drink was made to perfection! Absolutely delicious and I didn't want the cup to end! It was the perfect balance of smoothness and warmth and it was sweetened perfectly! For breakfast, I decided to get the mushroom toast and it was amazing! I was skeptical about the ricotta addition but it was spread on the toast like butter, very plentiful and tasty! That along with the other ingredients used made it taste exceptional! Perfect price point too! I was more than satisfied! Last but not least the service by host staff and waiters was top tier. Very attentive and lots of smiles! They genuinely seemed happy to have me and treated me like a guest in their home. I genuinely can't wait to come back and try everything on the menu! There's no seating and no public restrooms--just a straightforward counter for takeout or picking up pre-orders. On weekends, the line definitely snakes around the building if you don't arrive early, but they keep spirits high with a flavored water dispenser and the occasional sample to tease your tastebuds. From baked goods to breads to even some savory treats, you want to check this gem out! The baked goods are a total evolution of the craft. Their filled croissants are legendary, with the Dulce de Leche and Pistachio being absolute fan favorites that live up to the hype. If you're looking for their mini croissants, just keep in mind those are made to order. However, the true star of the show is the Pavlova. It is a next-level masterpiece, but it requires a few days' notice, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly. It's a hidden Miami treasure that proves you don't need a fancy dining room when the food is this good.
