They really made her the priority, and it felt like she had so many pillars of support from the multi-disciplinary team surrounding her. Phong, our nurse, took the time to walk us through what to expect and made sure we understood each part of the process. Tien was incredibly responsive in making sure medications and supplies arrived when we needed them. Bea, the social worker, was truly a lifeline--patient, compassionate, and always willing to go the extra mile, even advocating for us with the county when we hit roadblocks. They also paid attention to details and personalized services, including arranging for a priest to come and offer Catholic blessings. After my mom passed, they sent a beautiful orchid arrangement that is still blooming--a simple but meaningful reminder of their care.

Compassionate Care Hospice lives up to its name. They…read moreprovided compassionate care to my dad his final two months. Every team member demonstrated this compassion; from the bathing aid (Ronnie), nurse and case worker (Anastasia), social worker (Sandie), Admissions Director (Gaza), to the Bereavement Coordinator (Nathan). Please forgive me for other team members that I didn't have the honor of meeting in person but I thank you as well. This team constantly updated me on my dad's condition and made sure I was well informed as to what to expect next. I don't know how the owner (Joey) accomplished such a feat of finding an entire team with compassion, but I am thankful that he did. We never had a need for supplies or equipment, and when a team member made a suggestion for different supplies or equipment it was immediately executed. Thank you Joey and your team for going above and beyond the "standard of care".

Update (April 2026)…read more Compassionate Care Hospice's response illustrates their unprofessionalism and willingness to provide dishonest information. Below are OFFICIAL findings directly from the FINAL report by the California Department of Public Health (Complaint Number 2641478), which indicated that Compassionate Care was being investigated based on multiple serious complaints within a short period of time -- yet it continues to misrepresent the findings by the Department of Public Health. If they spent as much time combating negative reviews by their customers and fabricating disinformation as they do on patient care, maybe they wouldn't have so many one-star reviews to begin with. "The initial plan of care, updated plans of care, initial assessment, comprehensive assessment, updated comprehensive assessments and clinical notes - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on record review and staff interviews, the hospice failed to ensure completion of clinical record to reflect the family member's concern regarding a change in the patient's condition. This failure created the potential for not having the patient's current condition to provide necessary care and services for the patients. " "Signed copies of the notice of patient rights in accordance with Section 418.52 and election statement in accordance with Section 418.24 - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on staff interview and record review, the hospice failed to ensure the written addendum showing diagnoses and non-covered items was completed with the actual date completed/provided to the patient/family member... This failure had the potential for not having an accurate information on the patient's clinical record." Read the above for yourself and see if you believe the official report found no deficiencies as asserted by Compassionate Care. There is a clear lack of ethics and humanity toward their patients. A simple phone call or email to the grieving family with an apology would have been a good start, and yet they are incapable of admitting their shortcomings and chose to fabricate results of the findings. I urge anyone considering Compassionate Care to contact the California Department of Public Health regarding the complaints and think hard about whether you would want this organization to care for your family member during their last moments.

I wasn't going to write a review but recent events have pushed me over the edge. If I could give…read morethis place negative stars I would. UNSANITARY ENVIRONMENT Let's just start with the environment. The entire place smells, feels stuffy, and overall just doesn't feel like a healthy space to be in. You can smell urine, among other things, passing by the patient rooms. I have to hold my breath. They need to have a better ventilation system or something, or at least have working windows, to take care of all that odor. There are patients just sitting in their wheelchair in the hallway!? Super weird! And they have no clear signs showing you where to the rooms are located. And all the Exit signs take you in circles. NEGLIGENCE My uncle was admitted recently. Let's just set aside the fact that he had to share the already small room with another patient, it was kind of decent in the beginning, seeing that they did have staff coming to check up on him and I've been able to call staff in for help. Still, everything went downhill fast. He is supposed to receive physical therapy twice a day, every day. However, he has told me that there have been days when no physical therapist comes to take him downstairs for PT. At one point, he went FOUR DAYS without receiving any physical therapy at all. Even on the days when he does receive PT, he often has to ask the staff about it first. For someone who is recovering and needs consistent physical therapy, this is extremely concerning. PT should be provided as scheduled without the patient having to repeatedly ask for it. This is not right. LACK OF COMMUNICATION He had an appointment set for Friday, but we received a call from Sea Cliff to move up the appointment a day early due to a wound that needed immediate attention. OK that's great! What they failed to inform us during that reschedule call was the LOCATION of the new appointment. He's been going to UCI Health in Orange. The new appt. was in Yorba Linda! I drove to Orange only to find out about the new location from the front desk person. What the heck? I ended up being 20 minutes late to the appointment because of the drive. Not cool. INCOMPETENCE THEN, when his surgeon came in to look at the 2 surgical sites, he was shocked to find that the sutures had been REMOVED without his knowledge! He did not want that. There seemed to be a breakdown of communication between the hospital and Sea Cliff. Apparently the "wound care doctor" at Sea Cliff removed both sutures for some reason, AND remove the wound-VAC (little pump attached to the body to help the wounds heal) because he said it wasn't working like it should. Turns out the wound care doctor wasn't supposed to do that because removing the sutures and the pump was not a good call, slowing down the healing, according to the surgeon. And HE DID IT WITHOUT THE SURGEON'S AUTHORIZATION. So the surgeon had to fix that with stitches, patch it up and re-attach the pump. This is just so wrong and negligent of Sea Cliff. Thankfully we have a great surgeon (from UCI Health) who knows what to do and takes great care of my uncle. Lastly, because of the location of the surgical site, the surgeon had instructed him to lie on his side in bed for a while. However, I learned that Sea Cliff left him lying flat on his back for days, which made the wound worse and prevented it from healing properly! Sorry if this review is long, but I just had to explain it all so that you won't place any loved ones in a place that lacks competence, professionalism, communication, and cleanliness. If you love your family or friends, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!! We can't wait to take him out of this nightmare of a place this weekend and move him to a much better facility where he can get his own private room and get treated with compassion and respect. GOOD BYE FOREVER!

I was grossly disappointed with Care Choices' Hospice service. To start with, their contract and…read moremarketing materials are materially misleading, and internally inconsistent, in terms of the care that they actually provided. Their representative rushed me through the sign-up process without any clear explanation of the services that they were going to provide. Specifically, their communication to the parties involved (Assisted Living, the attending physician, and me) was vague, ambiguous, inconsistent, and confusing at a time when job descriptions should be crystal clear. It is Care Choices' responsibility to coordinate care and especially to make sure that "their" patient is being properly attended to. Hospice services are not just to provide a hospital-style bed and a wheelchair. As a direct result of Care Choices' lack of clarity, the Hospice service was waiting for the attending physician to treat, the attending physician was waiting for Hospice to treat, and the family was waiting for the patient to receive necessary care on a prompt basis. As it was, the patient's care was overly delayed, which caused the patient medical distress and the family members completely unnecessary emotional distress.

I appreciated most of their staff. They are a good HomeCare, but One thing I found difficult was…read morethat they resented filling out orders for my medical supplies. From what I understand, when they took me on as a patient, they also took on the responsibility for ordering my medical supplies and paying for it through their budget rather than a supply company delivering them and billing Medicare directly. I don't know why it's like this, but I definitely felt the resentment for them having to use their budget to buy my supplies. And because I was so dependent on my supplies that being caught a couple days without them would cause complications and likely lend me in the ER, I asked them to send me a surplus of supplies so that I would be secure for a while and not have to worry about it, but they insisted on sending it in small amounts every week and a half, which became very stressful and I dreaded making the call to ask them to send more supplies because they really weren't happy about it and I definitely felt it in their tone of voice.
