My family just started going to their office this last year. We moved here from another state and we had trouble finding a good physicians office with a lot of practitioners. We had no issues becoming patients or making appoints at all. They even take same day sick appointments if needed. We have seen 3 separate practitioners in this office and we have been happy with them all. Very professional. They take time with you and really seem to want your business. We are very happy so far. read more

This office is an absolute joke. How the office manager Shauntel is still employed her with her extremely rude and unprofessional demeanor is beyond me. I called on 5/8 inquiring if their office was accepting new patients. I was told yes, then asked a series of typical questions...did I have insurance, what kind, was it through employment, etc. I was then told i would have to go through a patient screening to see if I would be an appropriate fit for them. I was confused by this policy, but agreed to it. I was then asked more questions. Medical conditions, current medications, who prescribed them. The office manager then told me she would forward all this information to the Doctor and if I was accepted they'd call me in a couple weeks to set up an appointment. As of today, I hadn't received a call yet, so I took to my local FB page, inquiring if this is common practice in the area and if it's happened to others. I never mentioned the offices name. Coincidentally (or not) I received a call shortly thereafter from the manager letting me know that I had "been accepted" and that she would set up an appt "much sooner than others that had called". She acted as if she was doing me a favor. The whole conversation with her was pretty disgraceful, as her attitude just drips from her voice. I got the appt information, thanked her and hung up. I returned to my post to update that I had been contacted by the office, the appointment had been made and was 30 days out. Disappointing, but, what can you do. It was better than nothing. I still never made mention of the Dr.'s name. After that, I received a call from Ms. Congeniality letting me know that they were going to deny me as a patient now. I was taken aback and confused so inquired as to why. She said it was apparent that I was unhappy with the office already. Still confused, I told her no, I wasn't, what did she mean? Her response to me was that I was causing problems and that with today's technology.....I didn't let her get further than that. I was floored that a "professional" medical office was denying me as a patient over a Facebook post. I gave her a few choice words and hung up. Let it be said, my husband had been a patient of this office for 2 years. He called to find out what the heck was going on, asking to speak directly to the Doctor and was met with the same rudeness and unprofessional attitude I'd received from Shauntel every phone conversation I'd had with her. She refused to allow him to speak with the Dr. Whether or not this physician is aware this happened, I have no idea. If she is, and condones this type of high school drama behavior from her staff, then I suppose they did me a favor. If she isn't aware, then she needs to be and it would be advisable that she looks at who is running her office. Her staff should be working, not trolling FB and creeping profiles. read more

Luce Bethany L. MD. MD - Family Practice Near Me - Prescott Valley, Arizona

Recently went to office, during pandemic, and four office workers were not wearing a mask. Very unprofessional. Manager said she would talk to them, but it was obvious they felt comfortable not wearing masks and this office policy was not being enforced. Will not go there again. read more

When I was 16, it turned out that I had an ovarian cyst that was 8 pounds (the size of a volley ball). My OBGYN preformed an emergency surgery on thanksgiving day 2008, she removed my right ovary that was taken over by the cyst. I have a 10 inch scar that wraps around my bellybutton and goes down to my pubic bone. The cyst was not visible unless I layed on a flat surface. Before all of this I told Dr. Bethany Luce that my leg kept going numb when I would go hiking with my dad that persisted for two months and it was progressively getting worse. So much that by the end of 5 miles I was dragging my right foot. I layed down on her exam table. And she felt around my ovary. She asked if I was pregnant. I told her no, I knew that I definitely was not. I was not even sexually active. She badgered me with that same question over and over and over. She would not beleive me. She ordered an ultrasound, and said very arrogantly "we will see", in response to me telling her over and over "NO I AM NOT PREGNANT". Now I understand that some girls are in the position of being pregnant and do not want to divulge information. But even if this was the case, who gives her the right to be so cruel and belligerent? Dr. Luce yelling at them is not the way a doctor should act. She has pre-existing judgements that a medical doctor should not have. I gave her several chances after that, went to her when I was sick, etc. Let's just say she has the bedside manner of a potato. Very rude and has a HUGE lack of empathy. Obviously out for the money she gets and makes off people from insurance because she obviously doesn't care about her patients. If you do have her as a doctor. Which alot of women do, because there is not a huge choice of women doctor's in Prescott Valley, ask to make an appointment with Rhonda. She is a nurse practitioner and she is lovely, sweet and kind. And this does not violate the "no switching between doctors in the same practice". Best of luck. I hope I at least save someone from dealing with this terrible person. read more

My husband has gone to Dr Luce for a few years now. Dr Luce is always fine. She is helpful and listens but he does feel like just another person she needs to rush through to fit everyone in. I get it, the town is growing and I am sure Dr's are overwhelmed with new patients. He needed to get a prescription refilled and they wanted him to do labwork prior to the refill- ok no problem right? ugh. He called them on a Thursday to send over the lab request to labcorp, he followed up on a Tuesday to make sure it was sent (he had to call in late to work and fast), and then he went to labcorp on Wednesday- no dr request. He called Luce's office and the person who answered told him they were short staffed and closed (on a wednesday?!?!?!) and she couldnt help him but to go check at sonolab just in case it was sent to the wrong facility. So he drove over to the other lab, waited in line, no dr request there either. Waste of his time, he took off an hour of work in the morning to make sure he could get in, fasted, AND double checked ahead of time. Now he is delayed in getting a refill of prescription because of their ineptitude. read more

Office is clean. Waiting room is always crowded. Practically have to audition to see if they will take you as a patient. As you are filling out the forms to have them decide if you are worthy as a patient, you wonder if they want someone who has a lot of issues and will need more billable hours or someone fairly healthy so you can add more patients to their practice? When you pass their investigation, you can make an appointment and she will try to order every test allowed by your insurance.. Even if you have your records from your doctor who retired and everything is up to date. You will also be informed that when you are 65 and go on Medicare, you will be required to pay cash for your appointments or find a new doctor. This is the same doctor that has had my friend on anti depression drugs and sleeping pills for over 10 years now. I am healthy and I am therefore not a cash cow for the doctor. I realize that bottom line, medicine is a business, but come on. I am a patient, not a business client. I deserve to be treated like a human being and not a flow chart. If I am nothing but a number to you, then you are in the wrong business. Don't bother going here. You won't be able to feel like she even really knows who you are. read more

I am looking for a PCP and contacted this office. The front office explained both the MDs are not taking new patients, they are scheduling for a FNP, but that I would need to be screened first. I have never had a doctor's office say they needed to "screen" me first and sought further clarification. The front office gal was rude and condescending and then put me on hold as I hesitantly consented to the screening process. After waiting a while, I decided if this is the way patients are treated by the front office staff, I had better keep looking for a different provider. read more

I called Dr. Luce's office a week ago and talked to a wonderful person named Maddie who could not have been more helpful and understanding. Maddie helped me schedule an appointment for tomorrow (7.27.17) as a primary care physician for a referral to a specialist regarding a re-curing facial (nose) cancer. I learned yesterday that my insurance wouldn't cover the visit until 8.1.17, so tried to call Dr. Luce's office today at 9:00 a. m. to move the appointment forward past the 8.1.17 date. Just 2 'business' days away. Amazingly, after 20 rings, on three attempts, I got no answer and no voice mail, only the cellular providers' "ain't gonna happen" notice. By 2:00 p.m. I decided to drive the 25 minutes to the office, and I did. When I got there I learned their phones had been down all day, and were still down. Devon at the front desk rescheduled me for next Thursday. I look forward to the visit and will update my review then. read more

A good friend recommended Dr. Luce. I called to see if she doctor was accepting new patients and was asked to answer a screening survey that she would review. I finally received a call back four days later and was told that the doctor would not see me because she did not feel qualified to help with my needs. When I probed to learn more, I was told she did not feel comfortable filling a prescription for panic and anxiety. I felt very discriminated against for a condition I have lived with my entire life. This doctor has never met me. I cannot in good conscience recommend this kind of practitioner. read more

Dr. Luce is a kind person and a great doctor. I also really like Nurse Amy, who explains everything really well and takes her time to really understand what's going on. I never feel rushed, and it is easy to be seen once you are already a patient. read more

I called this Physician and was told by the receptionist that I would need to answer medical history and type of insurance before Dr. Luce would decide if she would accept me as a patient. I was offended that a Physician would take this approach to medical care. I gave the information requested although I did state my dismay with the practice. I told the receptionist I do not have any medical issues and I would like to schedule an annual. I have Anthem Blue Cross insurance. I was told Dr. Luce would review the application and I would be called if she decided to take me as a patient. I received a call from the same receptionist five hours later and was told that Dr. Luce was not taking any new patients. This practicce of "cherry picking" patients is appalling. read more

I too called Bethany Luce's office to schedule an appointment. Maddie was very nice and explained that she needed to ask some questions to see if the I would be a good fit for their office. After answering her questions and explaining that I am great pain in my wrist, she said they would call be back in 2 weeks, "is that okay?" she asks, I said okay, but I am in pain. I did not hear back in 2 weeks and so I called and spoke with Catherine, she was not as nice as Maddie. She told me I was on a waiting list for availability. I said that was not what I was told by Maddie. She said that was how it is. I was very disappointed as I trusted what I was told. It is now January 2, 2018, I called November 14, 2017. I still have not received any type of call from anyone in this office. I feel as if I am being discriminated against due to my medical issues. read more

I was surprised to read the negative reviews here. I have had nothing but outstanding care from Dr. Luce! Yes, there was an initial screening, but I appreciated that because it lets me know she is specialized in areas that will apply to my medical needs. I would much rather do that than wait 3 weeks to get an appointment with someone, only to be told I needed a different doctor who specialized in the care I needed. I received a response within 24 hours and had an appointment set within the week. Very quick turn around and no hassle whatsoever. I have now been with her for about 4 years and have had zero complaints. Her bedside manner is fantastic and she is always very thorough and gives me the time I need. I am never rushed in or out, and I have never waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. When I am there, I do not feel like a "client" but rather like she knows me and is focused on what I need at the moment. She even remembers between visits things we talked about or things that came up in conversation. As for all sorts of testing, I have not had that experience. She only orders tests appropriate to what may be wrong and always explains what they are for and seeks my opinion on how I feel about having them done. I have never had issues with the front desk staff or with scheduling appointments. Everyone there has always treated me with respect and courtesy. I would highly recommend her. I have been extremely pleased! read more

Being new to town, I tried to schedule an appointment with Dr, Luce as she was recommended to me. Her practice does not accept Medicare! Not good for a retirement community. read more
