Quite unimpressed. Came here with the relatives from Niteroi on a Saturday night. I am a fan of…read morethe Paludo restaurant next door, so I wanted to give it a try. I have to say that the recommended "uruguayan" cut steak for $R69 was rather disappointing. It was roughly a 10oz ribeye steak, containing a fairly big chunk of fat. Nothing fancy or special. Not specifically tender, nor has any particular extreme marbling, as the menu describes. Not sure what makes it a highlight on the menu. It didn't come with any sides, and an order of fries was $R23. The rest of my party ordered the Ribs, which were not a rib roast or prime rib, that you might think of, but literally a rack of beef ribs, cooked for 6-12 hrs, well done, and under seasoned. It was more of a pot roast. It came with some Chimichuri on the side, farofa, and roasted potatoes. Chimichuri didn't have enough kick to spring up the large chunk of under seasoned rib meat. The waiter will try to come and up sell you on that dish, but I recommend to stay away. Apparently, the rib dish takes an additional hour to cook/reheat, but the waiter forgot to mention it. Be aware.
If you want a good meal in Sao Francisco, Niteroi, I suggest going to the sister Paludo restaraunt, at least you see what you are getting there before you spend an hour waiting on your food.
