LCCS is unreliable and biased; they tend to destroy good families and turn a blind eye to children who need to be taken. We need change, and the Juvenile Court is no better. It's a case of one hand washing the other. There is no justice for families, and no accountability for the wrongs these two agencies inflict on families daily for being poor. Lucas county csb has been helpful in the past VERY minimally!. now there has been no communication with regards to my grandchildren. i fingerprinted, cooperated, walked the freezing streets of toledo, ohio and got all information into the courts when only one baby was involved. now there's two babies, and i want to know how; and what is appropriate correspondence; and get the information needed from the agencie(s). I believe i have all rights to know and find out what is going on with my two grandsons now 2 and 3 years old. The mother of the babies does not have them, and she has drugs in her system. And I have heard nothing back from lccsb about their wellbeing, safety, health, wealth, or anything, and i want to see them, take care of them, feed them, clothe them, and let our family (those / them two) know that they have an entire family that LOVES THEM. WHO knows why they won't return calls, correspondence, or even let me know how my babies are doing??? and since i dont want to offend anyone, i am asking simple, logical questions and expressing the interest in my grandsons. we missed the holidays, birthdays, and countless events of our family heritage. we love our family and want thesE boys with us. In essence, i would like OUR family together, and not exclusive of these blood relatives. i want these boys to know their first cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, grandparents etc. read more

Unfortunately they don't know how to treat their good families resulting in them losing them. It's great until you have to undergo a third party investigation and a worker told us that 90% of their foster families do sometime during their service. It cost us approximately $20,000, emotionally destroyed my adopted children and caused my family to undergo a 6 month investigation with no real grounds which CSB finally dismissed and closed the case with no findings. All because of an abuse allegation called in by a mother after her children were reunified because we were asked for money after giving her furniture, turning on her cell phone, giving her food etc. next day after telling her we couldn't give her money at that time we have an allegation called in to CSB and the mothers response to me was now you know what it feels like when CSB wants to take your kids. CSB will not support you. You are guilty until proven innocent and even though it was one report with no physical evidence and multiple inaccuracies we were put through this with an indicated finding which was explained to us as one party says it happened and the other says it did not and we can't prove it either way so it is an indicated finding.. It's not worth it. We have had over 50 kids in our home with no concerns. These kids cried when they went home and begged us to let them visit after reunification. They voiced no concerns during their placement, even at one point asked if we would adopt if they went up for adoption. We have three other adopted children. They were treated like Princes and princesses as were all of the kids placed with us, many of who we continue to support both financially and emotionally while at home with their biological parents. Child's interview revealed that she could not identify accurately key points during her interview for example: who was present, exactly what happened, when it happened etc. She has made accusations against previous foster family and none of this was taken into account. Her statements were not adequately corroborated prior to putting our family through this. That's how we were treated for trying to love and help kids who really need it. We voluntarily surrendered our license as have many others. Never again, after the pain that they caused and then just walk away leaving us to pick up the pieces with our adopted children is not worth it. They offer no support, no apology and no compensation. They just tell you need to figure out how to get over it. We could lose our home due to the financial burden they have put on us. I don't know if my kids will ever fully recover emotionally and we should just move on. Everyone we have spoken to has told us there is no recourse for my family, that CSB does whatever they want because they can. There is no one to prevent this until it gets to court and in our case that took almost 6 months after which they dismissed the case and never did go to court (why would they, they had no evidence). They were court ordered to turn over discovery to our attorneys by a specific date and missed their deadline. That would not have been acceptable if we had done that. It was a court order they failed to turn over their discovery. The Ombudsman who should be an impartial party is employed by CSB and has her office at Children's Services how impartial is that? When an appeal was filed she stated, almost a year later, if you want to pursue this I can give an indicated finding even though it was already investigated. Which in my opinion was a threat. It hurts me to say that prior to this I would have recommended fostering to anyone. NOW STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM IT AS YOU CAN unless you're willing to risk life as you know it and everything you have. read more
