Specialties
Tranquil Studio helps creators, educators, entrepreneurs, and organizations turn ideas into usable books, courses, podcasts, tools, and learning experiences through structured design and creative strategy. Using The Creator’s Map, we guide people through a practical process that helps move ideas from “someday” into something real and publish-ready.
Home to The Creator’s Map Podcast, Tranquil Studio shares behind-the-scenes conversations, creative workflows, instructional design strategies, and real examples of building meaningful work from lived experience and expertise. What makes the studio unique is the blend of instructional design, storytelling, systems thinking, and transformative learning through the TMID framework developed by Sonja L. Howell, PhD.
History
Established in 2016.
Tranquil Studio began as Tranquil Parenting, a program created by Sonja L. Howell, PhD to support parents and families navigating high-conflict situations, trauma, communication challenges, and major life transitions. Through educational workbooks, courses, and support programs, the work focused on helping people build healthier systems and stronger relationships.
Over time, the work expanded beyond parenting into instructional design, publishing, creative strategy, and transformative learning experiences for educators, creators, entrepreneurs, and organizations. This evolution led to the development of Tranquil Studio and The Creator’s Map, a structured process for turning ideas, experiences, and expertise into usable books, courses, podcasts, and systems that people can apply in real-world settings.
Today, Tranquil Studio combines instructional design, storytelling, systems thinking, and creative development through the TMID framework developed by Sonja L. Howell, PhD.
