Once the funds had cleared I ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HAD TO TAKE THE TEST IMMEDIATELY!!! WITHIN 72 HOURS! This seemed insane. When I reiterated my explanation they were quite rude. And not just curt, more like "ha-ha, we have your money, what are you going to do about it?" I have a feeling that they do a lot of this bait and switch.

BE AWARE OF THE PRICE YOU PAY at Accent Francais. They charge different prices to all of the…read morestudents. The difference for the same length of a course can be 30-40% less for some students. I found out that I paid the highest price. Some students who book a two-week course paid a lot less than me that were there for twelve weeks. I went to the office to ask for a refund. They asked me to write an email with all of the information and the petition. Immediately after I sent it, I got a replied from the woman that I had spoken just a few minutes before saying they do not give any refunds. Then I asked "Why did you ask me to write an email if the answer was going to be no? Very unprofessional. No response. The next day, I went to see her again, and said nothing and just wanted me to leave. There are no books, always ten students per class with different levels of French, some rooms were very small for ten people. The classes are not well prepared. Some teachers were okay, but some of them really bad. I also reserved accommodation with them and got something else. It seems to me that they just want your money, and do not care about the quality of the courses. They even fired one of the few teachers that was good. She was fired because she did not want to follow their unprofessional policies. There are better schools in Montpellier that will treat you like a student. I went to visit others and see a big difference in the quality of the programs and how they treat people. Do not go to Accent Francais in Montpellier, they will rip you off.

Elodie was extremely patient and took great care in helping me build and craft a very solid and correct base of the french language, to the point where after 7 weeks of hard work from both of us I was able to speak and comprehend and had the confidence to put myself in almost any situation, mostly with great success. The teaching method Elodie uses is great as it focuses on real world situations and helps you build confidence to use the language right from the first day. She also addresses all the nuances between written and spoken french and helps to ensure you learn to speak as a native speaker would. Elodie was the best teacher, professor, coach and language parent I could have asked for and she did it all with a smile. I've just finished a 2 week French course at the Institut César Langues and I just wanted to…read morerecommend it to others! The school is pretty small and less established than other language schools in Montpellier (there are a lot!) but for me this was great because the atmosphere was really friendly and intimate. Also, this means that the courses that they offer really are individually customised. For example, I knew that I wanted to improve my speaking and listening skills so my teacher really focused on that in the lessons rather than traditional grammar exercises. It's also in a great location as well, just 5 minutes walk from the Place de la Comédie.

When I arrived at the address provided there were 2 others living there. I absolutely could have compromised, but it was not a good situation. I was given a very small room next to the living room and kitchen. The other two bedrooms were full size, in the back of the house and had lots of privacy. The room had a broken door that didn't close and the noise from the common areas was not conducive to study. I don't even want to mention the filth, the mold in the bathroom, the overflowing trash cans, the rotting food in the refrigerator. I let the owner of the school know the next day. He did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. Because it was last minute, my only option was an airbnb. Now, I had to spend so much (nearly all) of my summer budget on housing that I couldn't afford to stay the full 5 weeks of the program. I was given a second guarantee that the extra weeks would be refunded to me. This school has not refunded my money for OVER A YEAR for an apartment I didn't stay at, one that was not even close to what was guaranteed to me, nor for the 2 extra weeks of intensive classes that I pre-paid for but never attended. I am not one to write negative reviews about any small business owner, but this behavior is unethical. He literally stole €1400 from me. The owner is dishonest, dismissive and has little concern for his students or his teachers. Please do not support this institution.
