If you do not read "long" reviews, you probably should reconsider law school anyway... I was initially interested in LSAT Unplugged because of their advertised 50% military discount and what seemed like great offers. However, I ran into issues that left me feeling uncertain. First, their pricing structure is confusing. The website promotes a sale price (e.g., $748 for 3 months), and also highlights a military discount. When I inquired about the discount, I was told the military discount was already applied to the sale price implying there would not be reduced with the discount. I asked about this on the phone and email (so twice without a definite answer). Essentially, I was unsure if I was getting the full benefit of the discount or if the sale price was just a standard price anyone could get. To add to the confusion, I was told that the discount did not apply to one-on-one coaching, even though the military discount is featured prominently on the homepage under. I watched a testimonial featuring someone named Anne/Annie who was reportedly accepted into Stanford Law after claiming to have been representing New Zealand as a diplomat. After doing some research, I couldn't find any information confirming her story, which raised more questions about the authenticity of their marketing. I would be happy to allow the company to provide full and transparent information to resolve my uncertainty. Until then, I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

For starters, I just want to be clear that I've never taken any of LSAT Unplugged's courses nor have I ever participated in their accelerator program. I definitely would have if the founder wasn't so unnecessarily rude to me. When I told the founder that I was disappointed in my score, he began mocking me, which reduced me to tears. Not only did he lack empathy, but he was seemingly taunting me during our conversation and then subsequently tried to upsell me to purchase a $5,000 service package when we initially discussed a $3,000 service package. Long story short, although the founder knows his stuff regarding the LSAT and has many helpful tips, he is extremely disrespectful and believes he can treat "small guys" like me however he wishes. Moreover, he is incredibly entitled and can't empathize with the fact that many students are inundated with ads regarding many different LSAT prep services and might just utilize a seemingly good service that is only charging LSAC fee waiver recipients like me $2/month. He can't seem to understand that the economy is bad and people might first attempt to self-study before spending thousands of dollars on 1-1 coaching. Also, the hours LSAT Unplugged extends to students in their 3,000 dollar coaching service is extremely stingy. Other companies with 99 percentile scorers offer students twice the hours at approximately three-fourths the cost. This is not information I would have went out of my way to look for if the founder had just simply been respectful toward me, because I've watched his videos for years and had already built a rapport with him in my mind. If anyone ever asks me about LSAT Unplugged in the future, I will make sure to tell them how the founder of LSAT Unplugged treated me during our 20- minute interaction and how his mockery of my situation reduced me to tears. read more

Before I started working with Steve Schwartz, and my 1:1 LSAT Unplugged coach, I was studying regularly and made gradual gains in my practice test scores using Blueprint. However, I found myself in a rut and did not want to retake the official LSAT without some additional support. I listened to Steve's LSAT Unplugged podcast religiously. His content touched on the nuances of the test's most prevalent logical reasoning question types and reading comprehension passages, and helped me stay motivated to keep grinding to get into my dream law school! My most challenging question types were weaken/strengthen/exception questions. I only just started classes with this company a week ago and already it is the worst experience I've ever had. It is literally impossible to get ahold of anyone for one-on-one assistance or even an answer to a simple question on one of the problems assigned. When I signed up, it clearly said this one-on-one service was available for any student that needed it (which is the reason I signed up in the first place). They advertised it as "The LSAT Unplugged Elite Laser Focus Coaching." Come to find out, this was a complete and total lie. I have left multiple messages asking for one-on-one assistance; no response. I have to send multiple emails to the general email to get a response and when they finally do respond, they don't answer your question, and instead tell you to ask it in a live class. When you try to ask questions in the live classes, the instructor doesn't answer it and instead says email the general email and an instructor will reach out, but no one ever does. When I was finally able to schedule an appointment, I could see that there were at least 10 open appointment times available over a couple months, so I scheduled one - problem solved right? No. I get an email two days later saying that no one is actually available and they cancelled the appointment. It's like once they've gotten your money, they don't care anymore about whether or not you get the help you need. This is clearly false advertising and I'll be submitting a consumer complaint to the BBB and the State AG's Office for deceptive business practices. Do not go near this disreputable company. read more

After receiving a generic study plan not personalized to my needs, instructors who wasted almost a quarter of an hour of time talking before starting a study session, a chaotic interface that is outdated and unfriendly, I am writing this review because LSAT Unplugged has unfairly robbed me of $597 by signing me up, without my consent, to a recurring billing cycle. After realizing my card was charged 3 days after the payment I asked for a refund and LSAT Unplugged continues to refuse to return my funds. While I informed them that I was unaware of the recurring payments they continue to not give my money back. This program has little to offer and will steal your money. Plenty of other programs that actually care about their clients and do not practice unscrupulous and non-transparent payment methods. read more

This program changed my life for the better and I am so grateful for the opportunity that this program gave me. Before I started this program, I couldn't score higher than a 150 on my official LSAT and I was trying other programs to help me. Before I did Blueprint and Powerscore, but I could never talk to the instructor, only send chats. LSAT Unplugged though I got to speak to the teachers, ask questions in class. If I ever had an issue, I could reach out to the management crew and they would get back to me. Overall I felt that this team cared and I could have communication. I finally had my breakthrough method when I learned how to properly use the Socratic method they teach for I was able to learn what I was struggling with on the exam and now I can apply for my dream school as I had a 10-point increase. I went to Steve's free in-person class and it was amazing! I had taken the 2018 February LSAT and didn't score as high as I wanted (152), took a break from studying while I entered the workforce and decided if I actually wanted to go to law school. I found Steve when I was prepping for that exam, he was highly recommended by other mediums, blogs and whatnot. I did self-study and Steve's content helped me SO much. I admit my score was of my own fault since I did not dedicate the amount of time to studying and talking to others as I should have, but Steve's newsletter and content always cheered me up and helped A LOT. I found it challenging to speak up and share perspectives with the rest of the class, maybe because we didn't know each other. It was a little fast paced but I consider that to be positive since we got to cover about 6 questions in 1.5 hours (which seems a little contradictory) I loved the way Steve explained the different question types and went over how to approach each one. My most challenging questions are with parallel/ analogy questions, I tend to overthink them and then find myself in a trap without recognizing the keywords. I still have not had my make-or-break moment with theLSAT and I attribute it to lack of focus. I know it will come and I look forward to greeting it with an expectant welcome. As mentioned, I scored a 152 in my Feb'18 LSAT. I am aiming for a 165. A reward from the LSAT class taught by Steve is that I was able to understand where the questions were stemming from and he had a wonderfully clear way of communicating how to approach them and what to blur out and what to focus on. I believe my understanding on how to approach questions increased. My LSAT study and the recognition of flaws, logic games, and reading comp have helped me in a myriad of ways outside of the LSAT. I had my first 30-minute coaching session with Steve and it was AMAZING. Steve has great insight, I love reading the daily emails he sends with tips/advice/insight. The emails are so down-to-earth, funny, realistic and compassionate. Because I love his emails, this coaching session was something I was so happy about. Prior to the coaching session, I had been feeling EXTREMELY stressed and anxious. I had previously done a 2.5 month in-person Kaplan course that was of ZERO help to me and was very costly. Money and time down the drain. I knew I needed a fresh start and a change in course for the upcoming LSAT but did not know how I could possibly tackle my self-studying with little guidance. With so many different opinions all over the internet, whose tips/advice do you trust? I had an idea that maybe I needed more structure. But the biggest hurdle: what is that structure? What materials do I need? what is too much? And is it even feasible to succeed and obtain my goal scores given my current lsat diagnostic/practice scores. Steve helped me realize that I'm going to have to put in a lot of work, but that there is a way to be more EFFICIENT with my study-time. I realized I need to have a good study-work-life balance and that is something I've been struggling with for 3 months now. I am going to use the tips we discussed to help me during my study process that I will utilize alongside his study schedule. I am a very skeptical person and feel like so many people and companies sell you products to bank/capitalize off of desperate students' needs. I have fallen victim of prey to those broken promises (i.e. Kaplan was a waste of time and money). Steve's methods make sense and I can see how much he understands the difficulty of this exam. I feel like my dreams of attending UCLA law are attainable, they will just take dedication and effective use of all my available resources. I plan to obtain Steve's 6-month daily study schedule. The study schedule/structure is the element that sounds the easiest but is much harder than you think. Excellent resource for LSAT studying, and personally I think the best for its cost. Steve offers a variety of resources, both free and for limited cost. After using a lot of his free resources and subscribing to his mailing list, I decided to buy a schedule and answer explanations for a group of practice tests. The schedule was great for keeping me organized and on track, and I felt the flow of learning was beneficial to be prepared for test day. After using all of Steve's materials, I was able to bring my score up 16 points from my first exam. I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Steve in a virtual tutoring session and I already feel more confident about the LSAT! He was able to give me relevant and insightful advice that I can start applying to my studying habits and I can already feel a difference. Prior to speaking with Steve I felt like I was spinning my wheels and taking practice test after practice test, unable to make any significant gains in my scoring. During our session he asked me frankly what was giving me trouble and pointed out some obvious ways for improvement, and some not so obvious improvements. My major has nothing to do with logic, and I really hate this kind of staff. The logic game part is a hell for me at first. While when I follow diagnoses of Steve, I found that I can do it just by myself, as a layman of this test, and after I practice more, I really did it quicker, I mean the thinking or the matching. I feel very lucky to have found Steve. I took the LSAT in September after self-studying and scored well below my last few practice tests. I was averse to re-taking until finally I was convinced to re-take in January. I contacted Steve at the end of December, and we started working together about a week later. I had a hard time believing there was value in untimed questions/sections. My previous approach had been to take as many timed sections and practice tests as I could. Steve helped me to slow down and to spend time dissecting a question, not just to understand the right answer. He wanted me to ask why it was right and how the question was trying to trip me up. It was great to have Steve's support and guidance to structure my studying, especially because I had so little time. He helped me to triage and spend time on what was important. Before I discovered Steve's classes and LSAT content, I was going through a rut with my own studying. I got a 152 on my first LSAT attempt, and had just recently started a very demanding job, so finding time to study and generally getting my motivation back was difficult. Initially a challenge I had with Steve's method is that in the past, I've preferred to cover as much material as possible, as opposed to Steve's approach of digging deep into each question. Breaking out of my old habits and way of thinking were certainly difficult, but I know it will be worth it in the long run. My make-or-break moment was when I had the realization that I was letting precious time pass me by, time that could, and should be dedicated to LSAT preparation! I overcame this by slowly re-structuring my habits and where I devote my time. The other part of overcoming this was sitting for Steve's free class, because his insight showed me that my mind was in the right place and that a good portion of what I've learned along the way would serve me well in my studies, and eventual re-take of the LSAT. Excellent service, no frills and gets you what you need, which is a concrete plan to study for the LSAT. Before finding the blog, I knew two things: that I needed to increase my LSAT score and that I needed guidance on how to achieve it. I believe the blog identifies the best path to a higher score, which is simply putting in the work and taking a lot of practice tests and reviewing your mistakes. You will see your score plateau and maybe even dip a bit as the tests and your condition are not consistent across each one. Try not to feel bad during these times. The law of averages will kick in as you follow the plan, and you will take so many tests that you will eventually bust through these periods to higher ground. I have so many friends that could have easily improved their scores, but they studied for maybe a month or two and probably took 3-5 practice tests total. They could have ended up at a higher ranked school or at the same school but with more scholarship $$$. In this prestige-obsessed profession, a higher score and a higher-ranked school really leads to tangible differences in what kind of jobs you can end up with, all else (including hustle) given equal. Think to yourself, if you want to enter this profession for X reason, would a higher LSAT score help you achieve X? I can't think of anything off the top of my head where it wouldn't. I gave the LSAT all I had. Had never put effort into academics before but decided now was the time. The recession was in full swing, and I had no career or even job prospects as I bounced through interim positions. To follow the plan, I brought and took practice tests with me everywhere I went, whether it was the rural countryside with no electricity/WiFi, or on plane rides. Started with a 168 cold diagnostic and ended up with a 177 on the test after using the 5-month plan on Steve's site. Achieved super splitter status as a result and was accepted by two of CCN. Don't sell yourself short like some of my friends who should have put more time into studying before they jumped aboard the law school train. I did one of Steve's live webinars through Hunter College - FOR FREE. I really appreciate the lengths to which Steve offers free resources through college partnerships and his bi-weekly e-mail tips. There are a lot of other affordable options, too, such as the study guides. Being able to experience Steve's teaching style either for FREE or low cost allowed me to see what I'd be paying for and led me to apply for and enroll in one of his reduced price masterclasses. I took the pricey Kaplan classes and found it impersonal. It was a $1500 introduction to the LSAT that left me pretty demoralized. I have high aspirations and wasn't getting the score needed to achieve them. To be honest, I kind of had a make-or-break moment when I accepted getting the best score for ME, not for a school. Steve's approach tells me that he will work at MY level, to increase MY strengths and address MY weaknesses rather than some blanket set of strategies to please an institution. I only even considered going to law school when I took that approach to my entire life, Steve helped me recognize how important it is and how much more successful I will be when I take it with the LSAT, too. read more

TL;DR: the world needs more "LSAT Steves" in it. My LSAT situation prior to discovering the gem that is Steve: When I first became serious about the LSAT in mid-2017, I was extremely bamboozled. I had just finished serving on jury duty and felt a need to make a change within the legal scene. However; no-one in my nuclear family had taken the LSAT before, and my cousin that had *just* graduated law school told me to avoid such an idea (which was based on his experience at a third tier school; he was miserable) or b) do my own research. So; being the person that I am, I proceeded with the latter since I figured that one person's experience didn't speak for everyone's experience and that if a legal career was meant for me, it wouldn't pass me; then I realized that I had absolutely no idea what I needed to study, or how I should be studying for that matter. Needless to say, my LSAT prep was non-existent before finding Steve. I knew I had to study for the LSAT; I just didn't know where to start. LSAT challenges that were faced during the session: I wouldn't go on to say that any of the content was a "challenge;" it's mostly just challenging to get through with my own mindset since I have tendencies to read over questions too quickly or "clock out" when a question about an uber-boring topic comes around. Having to self-correct my mindset during a characterless question is enough of a challenge in the sense that it subtracts brainpower that could be utilized for "finding the traps" within the question that's presented to me. However; I do agree with Steve when he says to save said characterless questions for the end of the section. Overcoming challenging challenges and achieving my make-or-break moment: I would say that my make-or-break moment was hit when I was finally able to put two and two together for the sake of logical reasoning. I always understood it when I thought about it, but I've always had problems translating my thoughts onto paper. In my mind, it would process as "a -- b and b -- a," but on paper, it would come off as "a -- triangular dinosaur -- peanut rock -- maybe b -- fake b part two -- throw an a in here -- maybe a circle -- is b still alive? -- chooses an answer." I overcame this when I did indeed realize that my mind was being "a truther" the entire time and that I was driving myself nuts since I couldn't believe that something could be so straightforward. LSAT "treasure" + admissions: After our session, I felt more confident for my June 2019 LSAT retake (took February 2018 LSAT; had one clue as to what to do, but my timing just wasn't with it). I'm also ready to submit a more-tailored round of applications into fewer schools (note: initially I've applied for the 2018-2019 school year but decided not to attend as a result of unsatisfaction with admissions results and financial aid packages). Since I have a pretty solid grasp as to what I'd like to practice post-law school, I'll make an effort to apply to schools with strong specialization programs. Hopefully, I'll have all of my apps in by the end of September/October of 2019. New life and opportunities: So far, the impact on my life has been that I've received a little more clarity going forward with my whole grad school plan scenario. For the sake of being technical, grad school is something that first crossed my mind around this time in 2016. I had just learned that I was definitely graduating a year early (graduated in 2017 as opposed to 2018) and had a little panic since that meant that I had one less year of being comfortable with my messy undergrad life. Looking back on it, regular grad school never felt right (aka going for my masters in the same field that I have my BA in), and I didn't want to loophole myself into an unideal scenario. "Professional" schools such as business school and law school never crossed my mind back in 2016 since I thought that I had to go get a masters in something just because everyone else was doing it. However, when I first looked into law school, I had an "ah-hah" moment but was then bummed by my February 2018 LSAT score; then, I lost all hope and ditched the LSAT for the GMAT (which is still a beast in my life that I've toned down lately). Going forward, I intend on mostly applying to law programs with some dual degree programs (with communications/PR) and some communications/PR/media relations programs just in case I don't get into law school. read more

I have taken the LSAT before and I didn't do as well as I expected. While preparing for the third attempt, I went and got more LSAT prep-books in hopes of getting a better outcome. However, as I started my study, I realized that those materials were so similar to what I had already learned, that I felt like I was wasting time until I found the LSAT unplugged on YouTube. I was desperate about finding a new way to approach with my study and after watching a few of Steve's videos, I decided that his material might be good for me, so I signed up for his course. After a few weeks of using his material, I was able to see improvement in my Logic Game! His techniques were easy to understand and insightful. However, it took me a while before I was able to shake my old habits, but once I did, I was able to utilize the technique with ease! I'd taken the LSAT once but knew I blew it. While prepping for round 2, I found myself studying the same materials I used the first time and not really seeing my score improve - until I found Steve. I recently purchased his 2-month study schedule (at an extremely reasonable price) just to brush up on my fundamentals and I've already seen dramatic improvements in my drills / practice tests. The schedule gave me structure, as it lays out a day-by-day plan of attack. This is especially useful for those who work and study at the same time, since his calendar (containing homework assignments, blogs written by Steve himself, etc.) provides a focused way to study while keeping you accountable. Steve's prep materials and resources are unmatched. In addition to following Steve's blog and study guide, I enlisted Steve's tutoring services via telephone. I was already in a position where I could ace many games, but certain types would give me trouble. I went into my sessions with him with a list of games that had especially given me trouble. What Steve helped me to do was to sharpen my skills so that I could slash right through many games (many in only 5-6 minutes), giving me the extra time I would need in the case of an especially ugly game (Dinosaurs, for instance) might appear. He also taught me how to quickly identify the limited placement options that are essential to cracking certain tough games, and also how to know when creating full templates of possibilities is your best bet (a great example of this is PT 59, Game 4). It's probably hard for you to imagine how a tutoring session via telephone would be feasible (before trying it, I certainly did), but it works very well. And the time I spent working with Steve sharpen my skills was well worth the investment: when I approached my fourth game on the February test, I had 18 minutes remaining to complete it. If nothing else, be sure to learn some of his approaches to various games, in particular those involving limited placement games (dinosaurs), Grouping: In and Out games (birds in the forest), and Sequencing. I feel strongly that his techniques in these areas are far superior to those offered by the prep books. By the end of my prep, I had done enough LR questions that I felt as though I knew what was coming--where they would try to set you up, and how to sidestep it. I got to the point that I sometimes didn't even need to read each of the answers--I could pre-phrase after reading the stimulus and go straight to the correct answer, thereby conserving valuable time for the tougher questions later in the section (though I don't necessarily recommend this approach UNLESS you have spent considerable amounts of time drilling). I told Steve that I sort of felt like the Keanu Reeves' character "Neo" in The Matrix--that I could see "the code" and react accordingly (interestingly, Steve told me that he uses that analogy with his students as well). Why dodge the bullets coming at you when you can just raise your hand up to them and cause them to fall harmlessly to the floor? However you approach your LSAT prep, just remember this: if Steve suggests that you should do something, do it! The stuff works. read more

For those of you who are on the fence about LSAT coaching, I hope you take the time to read this short little review of my experience with Steve and why he is THE BEST when it comes to improving your shot at law school admissions. I was struggling for about 10 months with the LSAT, wavering around the mid 150s and not able to break into the 160s. From working with professional test-prep companies to buying every book I could find, nothing helped. Then, I came across Steve's Youtube channel as I was studying and became hooked. He gives you valuable insight and personable content that makes you feel comfortable with the LSAT. Eventually, I realized he offered one-on-one coaching and while it was definitely an investment, it was the necessary move needed. He got me on a tight schedule for 2 months before my LSAT date and man was it rigorous. However, it was nice to know I had an experienced mentor and coach planning my weekly goals and meeting with me online to discuss the struggles for the week and what I could do better. Steve is extremely passionate about what he does and it really shows through his care for his students. Before meeting Steve, I was lost and didn't know how to approach my LSAT retake. I just didn't know how to start studying again and what to focus on to improve my score. I contacted Steve and he was very prompt with his reply. In a word, Steve's blog is EVERYTHING - everything that you need to do better on the LSAT. Before I found Steve's blog, I scored under 160 on the LSAT. The next time I took the LSAT, after prepping with Steve's materials, I scored just under 170. This huge jump not only helped me to get admission into an ivy league law school, but also helped me get a significant scholarship to Baylor Law School (read: a lot less debt lol), my law degree, and finally, my dream job as a trial lawyer! Before I found Steve's blog, I was trying to self-teach with only a Kaplan LSAT guide book and a bunch of practice tests, but I was not seeing much improvement in my score. I had just finished a year of volunteering full time for AmeriCorps, 1 year out of undergrad, when I began studying for the LSAT, and I could not afford to take a commercial prep course. I had a full time job, a 2nd part time job, and self-teaching was not going so well for me. I was having the most trouble with the logic games - although the study guides have some explanations, I could not internalize the underlying principles I needed in order to crack the tougher games. When I came across Steve's blog, he had videos explaining each practice logic games, step by step, and things finally started to click! His videos really helped me grasp the essence of the logic games, and I saw dramatic improvement in my score on the games section. Because of that success, I started reading more and more of Steve's blog posts, and purchased several of Steve's guidebooks/pdf how-to's, and the PLANNER! 5 years later, and I still remember how much that planner/study schedule made all the difference in helping me stay on track. The general logical principles that Steve helps you hone for the LSAT translate into the logical thinking and reasoning you will need in law school and in practice (in analyzing cases, and drawing legal conclusions), so it's not just an investment in a single test score, but in legal skills you will need throughout your entire career in law. I made sure to express my gratitude to Steve privately, and I am always recommending his blog to anyone that asks me for tips on preparing for the LSAT, but I wanted to also POST about the success I had with his materials, because I think he is a genius at LSAT Prep, and I wish more people knew about his blog. Not only is it a BETTER resource, in my humble opinion, but it is so much more affordable. If the Kaplan LSAT prep course was anything like the Kaplan bar prep course, I can say with some confidence that I was much better off with Steve's blog! I came across Steve's LSAT Blog when I was researching LSAT resources. I was immediately drawn to his website - it was unconventional and helpful, and I noticed that he had a lot of free material. After going through some of that material and doing some more research on Steve, I came across nothing but positive reviews and a lot of transformational stories. I had a two-hour consultation with Steve, during which we reviewed how to take practice exams, how to blind review, and specific strategies for individual sections. Not only did Steve's advice help me improve my score and guide me through the LSAT studying process, but his advice about circumstances related to/impacting the LSAT, such as work/life balance, study schedule, mindset, etc. is what makes him stand out from most other tutors. I had been studying on my own for some time using the Kaplan books, then took a course at my local university - with no improvement (despite studying for at least 4 months and putting in a lot of time). I then found LSAT unplugged though some online searching - his website easily had the most comprehensive resources. The biggest struggle using his courses were learning how to review properly and sticking to the schedule while working, volunteering, and being in school. I'm still trying to figure out how to effectively review - but Steve has given me some great advice that I am now implementing. I was particularly worried about the reading comp section - I really struggled with it and thought it for sure would be my downfall. After his course, my scores increased immensely. I used to get -7/8 on this section, and now it's down to -4! This course has now improved my LSAT score from 156-160, and I'm currently averaging 165 on timed preptests! I also watch all his youtube videos - which really helps to stay inspired during this process, it gives me motivation when I feel like disengaging from studying. One thing I have really noticed from his resources is how my mindset has changed in general - I am so much more critical of articles I read. It feels like a new world has opened up to me; I'm a much more informed, critical, and detailed-oriented thinker - an important asset to have as a lawyer. Steve did a fabulous job coaching me for the November 2018 LSAT. Through his capable instruction, he helped me raise my score from a 155 to a 164. This is no small feat as I am not nor have I ever been a "natural" test taker! Not only am I a more competitive applicant at higher-ranking programs, but I also have a stronger shot at securing scholarship money. I contacted Steve back in August upon graduating from my master's program. I had self-studied my way through the exam while in grad school with minimal success. I knew that I was capable of scoring higher with more time but was overwhelmed by the prospect of restudying. Steve responded to my request in a timely fashion and put me on track for November. I worked intensively with Steve on all three sections and was particularly impressed by his instruction in Logical Reasoning and Logic Games. His instruction enabled me to completely reframe how I approached LR stimuli. I learned to view each one as part of a conceptual whole, which ultimately shaved minutes off my time. I had not encountered his approaches to either section in standard prep materials like Kaplan or PowerScore. I met Steve Schwartz online through "Zoom" for a 15 minute consultation about personal statements. I had read every advice available online for free (including bad advice). I read dozens of examples of actual PSs that people wrote and were used to get into T14 schools. My only wish would have been that I would have spoken to Steve earlier so that all that time I spent researching PSs could have been utilized for studying for the LSAT. Steve is definitely an expert in all subjects related to applying to law schools in the US. I highly recommend the LSAT Unplugged. Steve wastes no time and asked me what I wanted to get out of the meeting. Even after all of my research, I could not distinguish the difference between a PS and a Diversity statement. In less than 15 minutes, Steve was able to clear the confusion for me and was also able to give me extremely useful advice and information. My advice is to contact Steve at the beginning of your application journey if you are trying to best utilize your time. The only person that might not benefit very much would probably be a student who takes a gap year and is not working to strictly focus on their application. The first couple months of my LSAT studies were rough. I jumped right into drilling questions/games/passages, which, for me, was a huge mistake. The one big mindset-change, that Steve preaches, which has helped me immensely, is the idea that I needed to "sharpen my axe before cutting down the tree". Really taking the time to learn the game before playing it. Learning the methods before jumping into drilling. This is something Steve endlessly preaches, and, again, that idea/mindset has helped me a lot. The only difficult aspect of all of this is dealing with time and patience, which comes with...time and patience! And accepting that the LSAT will get to you sometimes. I'm still studying - just beginning month 5, and I'm making strides. I have one of Steve's cheat sheets that I CONSTANTLY refer back to. I mean almost every study sesh I'm referring back to it. There's so much good stuff on there. It's a simple, comprehensive, organized 4 page overview that covers the whys and wherefores of the LSAT. Steve is amazing---I first heard about him from a law student who made a vlog on youtube. First, I can't tell you how brilliant or passionate he is when it comes to the LSAT (I believe it comes out of the adversity he faced from it as I am facing now). His advice is spot on and his methods are effective. He offers a lot of free classes in his Brooklyn campus for potential students and lots of free content on his youtube channel. He collaborates with admissions folks, lawyers, and students to give a different perspective outside of the LSAT. I am a non-traditional student who is using different methods. First I read the LSAT Trainer, then I got into 7sage, the powerscore bibles...Honestly, they slowly helped me improve my score but it was one of his talks with Ellen Cassidy and me getting her book that made my score jump from the mid 150s to low 160s. I am not done studying. I plan on buying his course because he really knows his material---as one of the other reviews pointed out, he helps you out if you have fee waiver. He sends free emails to everyone and is really open in helping anyone out when you e-mail him. He's always giving new tools to do things differently, such as reading comprehension and I plan on staying in touch with him long past my LSAT journey. Listen to his talks, buy his schedule, buy his course---I have actually talked to a few students who have taken it and they give glowing reviews. I'll keep this one short and sweet: Steve is super helpful-- I met Steve in the weeks leading up to taking the LSAT after having studied for 6+ months beforehand. He gave me some incredibly helpful pre-test hints that I found very useful leading up to test day-- how to prep in the days leading up, where to put myself . mentally, other actual LSAT tips, etc. The emails he sends are funny and down to earth-- he recognizes the absurdity of the LSAT and the process while making it accessible and easy to understand. I recommend Steve very highly regardless of your situation, as there were a number of students in our meeting who were towards the beginning of their studying and he was also super helpful for them. I started reviewing the LSAT using LSAT Blog. It's a great resource that is candid, accessible, and positively challenging. In a coaching session with Steve Schwartz, I received insightful section-specific advice as well as tips for how to most effectively study in the last weeks before a test date. With a hefty work schedule, LSAT Blog was able to provide structure, guidance, and manageable expectations. Using all of this to tackle the Logic Games based on type for the purpose of truly understanding each element, I noticed my score rise considerably with each timed test I did at home. I was studying for the LSAT in my final year of college, while I was also completing graduation requirements, writing my undergraduate thesis, and filling out law school applications. It was a very busy, hectic semester, and I was coming up against a ceiling with my LSAT score on practice tests. I had taken another course to prep for the test, but after an initial bump in my score I found that the prep course wasn't helping me continue to improve on the test. My tutoring sessions with Steve were what made the difference for me, and ultimately helped me achieve a score I was really happy with in the end. He had different ways of approaching problems and thinking about the questions that I had not yet encountered, but they really helped me cement my understanding of different types of questions. I found Steve's videos really helpful on their own, but getting to talk through specific problems that stumped me in our sessions were what I think helped me break through to the next level with the LSAT. With Steve's help, I was able to achieve a score in the 97th percentile, when before his tutoring I was scoring closer to the 94th.
