When you're planning a wedding, people say things like, "Nobody ever remembers the flowers!"…read more I tell no lies when I say that EVERYONE has remarked on the flowers that Gerych's provided for our wedding. Our original florist unfortunately came down with a serious health condition two months before our wedding date and could no longer provide the flowers for our wedding. Fortunately, Gerych's had availability for our date on short order! It was more expensive than we had anticipated, but they were willing to work with me when I asked about cutting costs where we could. While I was initially concerned that the bouquets didn't look like the inspiration I sent, I quickly realized that they were possibly even better. Couldn't be happier with how they accentuated our venue and our photographs!

A florist's business is built on trust -- trust that the quality and value promised is the quality…read moredelivered, that their business practices and online systems function reliably, and that they will honour the commitments they accept. Today, Fenner's failed to uphold that standard. An order was placed online in good faith, within the parameters of their own terms and conditions. Despite multiple time slots being blocked out, I selected one that was clearly available. What followed was a unilateral cancellation notice issued just 90 minutes before the scheduled pickup. To make matters worse, when I called seeking a solution, none was offered. This created an unnecessary scramble at a critical moment -- imagine arriving without the required flowers because the florist simply withdrew from the transaction. This experience suggests one of several possibilities: operational difficulties, an inability to manage their online ordering system (despite successfully processing payment), or a diminishing regard for customer care. Perhaps it is a combination of these factors. In the real world, customers come first if you ever want their return. Thankfully, Grand Blanc Flowers by Vogt's stepped in immediately and resolved the situation with professionalism and care. When a business cannot fulfil an order, it should not accept it in the first place -- or it should proactively refer the customer to a trusted competitor who can deliver.

There was a disco ball hanging from the ceiling, feather boas, dog toys, craft supplies and an amalgam of products that were thrown together without rhyme or reason. There were dollar store type items, but I didn't actually find anything for a dollar. Most items were $2.00 and way up. There was nothing that struck me as a really great deal. In a store like this, I would expect a good deal. Product was packed into every conceivable spot and extended up to the ceiling in many instances, making many things inaccessible. If you want to pay regular price, you can always shop at a regular department store. I'm visiting Dad and he took me here. He said I could find anything I was looking for here. He may be right. I found the envelopes I wanted. The store is still overwhelming though. They need a much bigger space. Staff was friendly enough, even if one struggled with the tax math a little. The store had a smell but was not dusty or dirty. This felt like a lot. I'm not sure I would want to go back.
