I noticed some mixed reviews here but I've been happy with James' work over the last year that he…read morehas been maintaining my lawn. We don't have a huge lawn, and it's a rental, so our goal is to just keep things cleaned up. I like that James texts me photos every time he finishes mowing and he has always been very responsive via text message. There have been maybe two instances in the last year when he didn't show up when expected, but it was never a big deal (especially since I only get charged after mowing is complete) and again was very responsive when I texted him a reminder. He also was very flexible with us when we decided to space out our mowing schedule in the summer when our lawn went dormant. For what I need, James has been great and I definitely would recommend him.

That said ... Following my first message with James requesting a yard service estimate, he responded 3 hours later; cool by me! He informed me that he'd "check it out the next day and get back with an estimate" ... 3 days later he finally got back to me, without the estimate but an extensive list of what he'd offer to do (which was beyond what the original service request outlined). Four days after that, he finally stopped by for an in-person meeting. Two days after that, I finally got a quote that was WAY outside of our budget for the desired project. Not cool by me at all. The next day, James contacted me and asked what our budget was for the project. I told him what our numbers were and it was HIM that offered up the cash price that he do the project for. We agreed and established Monday, June 9th as the project day. Monday morning arrives and by 9:00am, there's no NW Yard Services crew at the house yet. A text message was sent to James asking if there had been a schedule change or something that we weren't made aware of. Also, since it was pretty logical to assume that an early start would be used due to the temperatures anticipated in the high 80s - I rather expected some sort of response and/or simple explanation. But when 3:00pm rolled around without ANY response - not a phone call, not a text message, not an email, not even a thanks-but-no-thanks ... it was obvious that we'd been ghosted big time! Wow - I haven't encountered this level of such unprofessional, inconsiderate, disrespectful and just plain immature behavior in a long time.

We've hired Mike from Bee Done Handyman multiple times now, and he continues to impress us every…read moresingle time. He first helped us prepare a rental for new tenants, and from the start he was an absolute lifesaver. We had a long list of projects on a tight timeline, and Mike handled everything with professionalism, care, and zero stress on our end. His communication is truly next-level -- frequent check-ins, clear updates, and photos of progress throughout the process. It genuinely felt like he treated our home as if it were his own. Some of the projects he completed for us included: * Repairing a fence and replacing rotted deck boards * Replacing damaged hardwood floor pieces * Installing a new light fixture * Pressure washing and staining a massive deck * Replacing water-damaged drywall in the ceiling More recently, Mike helped us with a completely different (and equally stressful) issue when our kitchen downdraft vent broke. Not only did he help us source a replacement that matched the exact dimensions of the old unit, but he went above and beyond by researching the best options for us and narrowing it down to three solid choices. If you've ever researched appliances, you know how time-consuming and overwhelming it can be -- endless brands, mixed reviews, and total decision paralysis. Mike took that entire task off my to-do list during one of the busiest times of the year, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that. It added so much value to the already top notch service. His experience really showed; he knew which brands tend to fail sooner, which ones hold up long-term, and what details actually matter when it comes to repairs and replacements. Mike has officially become our go-to handyman, and we will absolutely continue hiring him again and again. Reliable, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and incredibly thorough. 10/10 -- highly recommend Bee Done Handyman.
