If you're bored of bowling and want something different there's a sports bar on site with a ridiculously large television and fairly overpriced drinks. There's also a wimpy with food of a surprisingly good standard, and for the children or children at heart there's many games and arcade machines including air hockey tables, pool tables, racing and shooting games (house of the dead, yes!) and some good old slot machines. A good place for a lighthearted night out. The bowling games are fairly cheap and they often do deals for large groups, however you may need to bring some extra money as food and drink can be quite expensive.

Since the closure of Hollywood Bowl at Riverside this is the number one place to go and knock down a few skittles. There are about 25 lanes so its always easy to get a lane even at busier times. Inside there is a large bar, function room and a fast food restuaraunt which is very popular for kiddies parties. Family prices for bowling are pretty good with a family of four bowling for just 14 pounds. There is also loads of arcade type games, which work on a win ticket basis so when you have a bundle of about 200 tickets the kids can exchange for a stick if chewing gum! All in all a good family day out, which will not be putting too much of a hole in your pocket!

The activity area looks like so much fun it makes me wish I were 7 again and could really get stuck into the ball pool! Given my age though, I currently use this area for its original purpose: bowling badly as much as I can!
