Glass too small for the space

Truly the most spectacular display of incompetence I've ever seen. I needed 4 pieces of glass cut, it took 3 employees to find where they cut glass, then another 3 employees before they could find one who could cut glass. He started by saying "I can cut glass but I'm bad at it" and boy was he right. I ended up with 2 pieces of glass that were different sizes before the employee gave up and walked away, then they spent 15 minutes radioing everyone in the store to see who could cut glass before I just left without the glass. I could've gotten better hardware service at a petco.

I have been using Herb Snow & Sons for man years, in fact I bought my Washer and Dryer from them 17…read moreyears ago. Their service is always quick, and on time, I only wish they carried more parts, so you didn't have to book two appointments everytime. Recently I had my Dryer serviced, and it is now running like new. Though there isn't a lot that can go wrong with a dryer, when the little drum support wheel bearings go, it gets noisy. The first appointment the technician diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts, he came back a week later and did the repair. When they order parts they require you pay in full before they order, and it is non-refundable, so you need to make sure you will have another day available to schedule them to come back. Other than that the work was finished in about an hour and a half, which wasn't bad since he had to tear the dryer completely apart. When it was back together, like I said, it sounded like it was new again. The technician said my Whirlpool built Maytag is good for another 17 years. Highly recommend Herb Snow, they are courteous, fast, and knowledgeable. The second appointment is inconvenient as scheduling two afternoons off work can be difficult. I imagine this is just the nature of the repair beast now. Still would not hesitate to give them a call again.

In March of 2023, my Samsung washing machine would not complete a spin cycle…read more Samsung recommended I contact Herb Snow & Son which I did on March 13, 2023. I was told it would cost $130.00 to come out and diagnose the problem + $120/hr labor plus the cost of the part. I was charged $195.00 for the part + $209.99 for the labor + $30.37 tax = $435.36 I later discovered the machine was under warranty. Herb Snow & Son was informed that it was only 2 years old, so they knew it was under warranty and never mentioned it to me. I was under the impression it had a 1-year warranty, when, in fact, it has a 10-year warranty. I found out later that the part Herb Snow sold me for $195.00 sells on Amazon for $21.99. Samsung told me they would have replaced it for free had Herb Snow had only called. At the very most, I should have been charged to come out and diagnose the problem ($130.00) plus labor ($120.00) for a total of $250.00. I ended up being charged $435.36. This amounts to an overcharge of $185.36, and overcharge of 42.58% Avoid these people as if your life depends on it! If you use them after reading this review, you deserve everything they are going to do to you! The only reason they use lubricant is to hold the sand on! I am surprised that local law enforcement doesn't require them to wear a mask and carry a gun.

I had to select one star, but if I had my choice I would give it negative stars. Bought three…read moreappliances from them, was promised they would work and be clean. When finally delivered (one day late and very late in that day), the dishwasher and stackable washer and dryer were put in the garage; they put the refrigerator in the kitchen. When the plumber came to hook up the water line so I would get ice (ice bucket promised was missing), he said the attachment would not work. Called Mr. Appliance and he said it would never hook up to the fridge because there wasn't one made. He asked where I got the fridge, and after I told him, he asked if he could see the other appliances. The dishwasher was thorough filthy and the hose was clogged. The stackable W&D was also not operable. Sad the man knew this place because of its bad reputation. Oh, they forgot to deliver the microwave, but did deliver a stove. Long story short, it took them one month to pick up the appliances. Then the process of getting a refund was in front of me. I kept calling; no answer. Drove by twice. First time all doors were open and no one was there. Second time, a chain was across the driveway. Mr. Wilson's answer was that they were all sick. Then he said the phones were messed up. I had to threaten to take him to small claims court. He whined about a woman taking him to court and taking a lot of money from him. Finally, more than one month later, I got half the refund in cash. One month later, I got the second half of the refund in cash. No, I would not accept a check or money order. I wanted only cash! Just don't even make the drive to Goddard. NOT worth it!

Summary: the owner was inexcusably rude…read more I couldn't find an unusual bulb at the big box stores; they suggested Kansas Lighting. I had dealt with them once before in person and they'd been helpful, so I was utterly unprepared for the treatment I was about to receive. I called and a woman answered who tried to help, but she seemed to be misunderstanding what I wanted (I wanted a CFL or LED; she thought I wanted a standard, discontinued incandescent). Once we cleared that up, she put me on hold and a man picked up. I told him clearly what I wanted and he seemed to understand. But he was VERY quick to make the blanket statement that the wattage-equivalency/base size combination I was looking for did not exist at all, despite the fact that I had actually found one (of the wrong shape). He then started explaining to me that ceiling fans have some sort of 60W "limiter" - although I never understood why that was relevant to the current conversation. I told him MY fan had "75W" stamped on the bulb socket; he said, "No, it's 60W." When I said mine was 75W, he said he couldn't help me and hung up. I called back to complain to the manager. Turned out he IS the manager (and owner). Crying by this point, I told him he'd been rude. He unapologetically told me he hadn't. I said that I felt he'd implied I was lying. Again, he denied it and told me "Ma'am, please just take your business elsewhere." I was upset enough by this point to make the empty threat that I'd take my friends too. He snapped, "If they're anything like you, fine!" and hung up again. At this point, I determined to write the owner a letter about the execrable behavior of his employee, but I figured that, given their behavior, they'd never give it to ME. So I asked my father-in-law to get the owner's info. He called them and "Bob" answered. Bob turns out to be both the owner AND the manager I spoke with this morning. When he heard it was about a complaint, he fobbed my father-in-law off on the female employee. She started spelling out the owner's last name (which, by the way, is listed plainly on the BBB's website), and Dad could hear the owner interrupt her in the background, after which she said she couldn't give out any more information. In summary, if Bob really is making it a policy that he doesn't want any customers "like me," which I would describe as courteous, even-tempered, curious, astute, but not fully expert on the subject, it suggests he only wants either customers with encyclopedic knowledge of lighting OR those who are stupid and rude. If it's the latter, it's no wonder he's short-tempered.
