Anyone with an ounce of common sense can realize all that it does is allow Lowe's to keep your information unethically. Have to love the generic response*** Just left the Lowe's store in West Hazleton, PA disgusted. Whoever manages that store needs to be fired. I am a contractor and every single time I go there I leave annoyed, disgusted, and most likely without what I needed. Tonight, in particular I went for 2x6's looked at the standard board what do you know not a single price to be found. Went over to the pressure treated 2x6's nothing to found on the shelf. I asked someone on a forklift if they were by chance getting more 2x6's down and the response I received was this is not my department (in his defense he yelled down the aisles to someone that did work in the department and I had said to both the gentlemen if this is going to take long I'll go somewhere else to that the manager whisper to his employee to say something to me instead addressing me personally. This is not the first time I have had issues with this particular location, in fact I cannot count on two hands how many times I had here. If anything, I'll get a fake apology when in fact that fake apology doesn't give me back the lost time both personally and, on the job, doesn't reimburse me for my fuel. It also doesn't look good on their part when I tell my customers it going to take longer since Lowe's shelves are empty, or I had to wait for someone to get product down since what they have on the shelves are all damaged not one or two but twenty-seven. Shop locally because corporations such as Lowe's don't care about the customer. Local businesses have the knowledge staff as well as better prices. I have given Lowe's plenty of time to clean up their act and I will no longer give any Lowe's locations any more chances! read more

I am a 100% disabled veteran with Stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma and other serious health issues. I look good (not great) despite this. My senior citizen mother and I went to Lowe's today around 10 am for two items. In advance, I researched the exact location for one of the items, a garden hand tool, and the other-- very small batteries--were located near the cash registers. We chose Lowe's over Wal**** and other stores because we wanted to obtain the two items fully socially distant. We needed these items today. Indoor and outdoor gardening are wonderful therapy. We were happy to make the short walk into the store and inside to get our items, and felt safe with no one near us. We looked for an open register. Register 12 was occupied by a customer with a filled shopping cart. Register 13 was lit as open, so we went there, and no one came to work the register. We looked at self-service registers, and all were lit red as out of service, with no one nearby to assist. We looked down at the customer service desk where several male employees stood talking in the same place they stood when we first arrived in Lowe's. I went to register 12 and stood in line, where 3-4 people now stood ahead of me. Meanwhile, I hollered down to customer service for help. No one came. Men at customer service kept chatting. My mother walked down to customer service desk and approached the men, asking for help. They informed her someone was coming. A female cashier arrived at register 13 and called for next customer in line. The Good Samaritans in line ahead of us at register 12 urged us to check out at register 13. Bless the customers of Lowe's. Shame on the employees at Lowe's during our visit. read more

Lowes West Hazleton has to be the worst Lowes in the US. It took 3 months for my shower door from time of measuring to time of install. I am trying to get a sliding door installed for my deck and I am having the same issues. The workers are complete morons and could care less about helping anyone out. The only competent employee they had George they move out of the shower door department. I I finished the bathroom by myself and unfortunately they just don't care. I went to purchase waterproofer for the shower. They were out of the size I needed. The employee told me they were out. I went home an looked online and it said they had 12. I l went back to the store and looked around (because the closes other store is 1/2 hour)and found them right where they said they were online. read more

I went to Lowe's in west Hazleton today because we needed some plumbing supplies. What was different then other times was that a younger man asked us if we needed help. I explained what I wanted to do with our kitchen sink which needed a complete rebuild because it is a old house and besides leaking should be brought up to code. He knew what we needed and I asked for his help with picking out what parts were needed for the redo. This man's knowledge of plumbing and his friendly attitude and ability to help was outstanding. Tried to buy a grill but all of them were already assembled. You needed a truck to pick them up. I asked if they had one in a box and they said yes. After an hour, the answer changed. I wasted 2 hours! Poor customer service. Glad I don't run my business like that! read more

LOWES KNOWS...........NOTHING! online ordering and store pickup is ridiculous. I did an online order for pickup at Hazleton store. I waited 2 hrs before I finally decided to call and see when it will be ready. They said ohhhh yeah we meant to let you know it's ready but even though our web site said we have 70 pipes We have 0. So they said they don't have them. And the glue I ordered also was not there, even though the site said it was. So I drove to the store to get my other items and a different kind of pipe and different glue. When I got there they gave me my items and not all of the other items were pulled so I had to wait for someone to go fetch them. While I waited I went and found other pipe and other glue. And paid for them. Then finally had everything. Total time for online ordering 3 hrs. 30 min and now no time to complete my project. Put off another day. Very poor service. Would have been way faster and a hell of a lot less aggravation for me just to drive there and pick and buy everything myself. This isn't the first problem I've had at lowes. But it is the problem out of many that made me decide to complain. LETS GET IT TOGETHER LOWES!!!!! read more

Worst business practices I have ever encountered. Poor follow through with contracts by failing to EVER submit the contract for order and installation. Poor communication between departments and NO communication with customers. Atrocious customer service. PAID for a door but then LOWE's resells to someone else before I could take delivery. Waste of time talking to a manager--didn't care and lied about product availability in same conversation. I would prefer to pay more and actually get the products that I need and pay for ANYWHERE else. Lowe's can offer whatever low prices they want but the price is irrelevant if you never receive the product because they don't know the status of their orders/stock. I've learned a lot about this Lowe's over the past few months since moving here. I've had good service and good value. And I stopped to ask the last couple of times: why so few employees are there to help at times. Turns out (and I intentionally had the conversation with different people I've encountered) that many of the young people who apply for jobs and even hire call off a lot ... especially on the weekends. I've found that if you spot one of the older employees with the Lowes vests, they turn out to be incredibly helpful. Outside of that, the young employees are just as clueless as they are at Walmart or Home Depot. Don't blame a whole company for what local yokels are not. read more

I purchased a riding lawn mower in the West Hazleton store recently. I had paid for delivery and they scheduled it. On the day of the delivery, they never brought it or even called me to let me know what was happening. The next day, I had trouble to even call and speak to anyone in the store. Waste of time coming to this store for trying to buy flooring. Waited in flooring department for someone to show up. Spent 1/2 hour waiting and kept ringing service bell. Flagged down a Lowe's employee who said would get someone and never showed. Complained to one person in returns and service who didn't seem to care. Guess they don't care about loosing customers. Went to Home Depot in St. Claire and was helped right away and spent $2000 for flooring. Lowe's loss. read more

I would like to post an update on this, having finally got my yard somewhat fixed after having to stare at the mess they made every time I looked out my front window for the last 4 1/2 months... I will start by saying that I'm not sure I can put into words just how bad the service at this store was, but I'm going to try my best and start by saying that their management staff at the West Hazleton store is the absolute worst you could possibly imagine. I had no idea it was this difficult to find decent managers in this area, but the guy I had to deal with did not even have an understanding of basic logistics where the store is the 'shipper', the truck or delivery service who moves the merchandise is the 'carrier', and the party who unloads it or it is delivered to is the 'receiver' (See Logistics 101 or Logistics for Dummies). This guy didn't have the guts to give me his name but sure thought he was a tough guy standing behind his counter and talking disrespectfully to a senior citizen when I didn't buy his cop-out about Lowes having no responsibility for what happened and him telling me to call the transport service for resolution (which BTW dosent work you just get put on hold and then hung up on). You would think they would want to use a reputable carrier to make sure their products got delivered safely and responsibly.... Either their managers are really that ignorant or they are trained to pass the buck when their 3rd party fly-by-night trucking outfit trashes someone's property. First of all, if you have not already bought an appliance there, don't. There is another appliance and furniture store in downtown Hazleton, who besides treating you nicely, will deliver at the agreed-upon time, respect you and your property when they arrive, and help you out if you have a problem instead of telling you to call 1-800-circlejerk like Lowes does. If you have had the misfortune of having them deliver and trash your property (or any other problem originating at the West Hazleton store), don't waste your time going to the store, or even calling their corporate office. I did call Lowe corporate and had the treat of navigating through their auto attendant phone system, holding for a long time, then finally getting through to someone who could only take some information and tell me they would pass it on, and if I would not have had the time to sit on the phone for half an hour I wouldn't have got that far. Here is what you need to do to get resolution: Contact the Better Business Bureau (https://www.bbb.org), and fill out an online claim. I did this before EOB one afternoon and had a phone call from Lowes Executive Customer Support at 9AM the next morning. This guy actually got a claim moving and followed up to the point at which I received a check for the damage, but not without a lot of work on my end.... Had to get 2 estimates which was not easy. The local landscapers laughed and told me "good luck" because apparently this happens in this area on a regular basis, and they consider it a waste of time to give estimates for damage resulting from Lowes deliveries, but when I told them this was being directed through the BBB and Lowes Corporate, I finally did get 2 estimates. Only problem was there was an upcharge for them to fix it during the winter due to the frozen ground, and the settlement didn't cover the upcharge so I had to wait till spring. Bottom line Lowes KNOWS this happens yet still continues to use 3rd party unmarked truck fly-by-night trucks to do their deliveries, then give people the runaround (Mr senior-citizen-abusing manager at WH store just happened to have 1-800-circlejerk number at his fingertips the day I went into the store) when there is damage done because they know most people will just give up instead of spending all their time on hold, getting cut off, and doing all the work to get through to someone who will help. Short version of this is if corporate gets enough BBB complaints (see instructions above) hopefully they will replace these bums with someone who understands principles of management like customer service and satisfaction, nonconformances, and corrective action. read more

Today my ex and i decided to go and check out the washer and dryer sales Lowe's was having... We wanted to see first hand how these appliances looked and what we would get as far as amenities in these appliances. We noticed that the customer service for us was next to none. There was a young lady there who was helping someone else and when the people had left we asked her if she is busy...She replied that she had to go and get their order pulled and once done she would be back to help us. 15 minutes passed we saw her and she was walking and talking... Then we saw her snacking and then go sit down and talk to a fellow associate in the bath department, but never once came back to help us as she had stated. We waited some more. After a great deal of minutes had passed, a young man approached and asked if we needed help we said we are still looking... He said when we are ready he would help us. 5 minutes passed and we were ready, but he was helping someone else. we waited an additional 15 minutes only to have him apologize for taking so long. we noticed the people he was helping were gone so why were we still waiting? That is a mystery we cannot answer. We then waited some more and grew aggravated and angry and decided to take our cash money and business elsewhere. Now we get to front of store or where you might say the entrance is and i said i wanted to report this behavior and a lady asked us what was our complaint about, we stated customer service... she said was it in appliances? We said yes. Now how she knew before we told her which department it was is an indication to me that this is not the first time that this has occurred. She then contacted a manager... Lol we were waiting for him to come and it was over 15 minutes. we grew even more aggravated and disgusted by the actions of the employees at this store that we decided to leave and go home. I told my ex that i was going to write a review of our experience at this particular store. I felt as if it was racially motivated, because every person (of caucasian persuasion) was asked if they needed help and was helped without hesitation. I don't like to bring the race card into it but there is no other explanation for this type of behavior. We were not coming to apply for credit, we were going to pay cash money right there on the spot. This to me is bad business and hope no one else has to experience such behavior. we will go to home depot from now on. At least they want our business regardless of skin color, what a person is wearing and such... Our overall time spent in this store with no one helping us was way over 30 minutes... I was in Lowes today with my 2 dogs, which I always enjoy going because everyone loves to see them that work their. Until today I was shopping with the dogs trying to get by the paint counter. 2 employees were talking and looking at pictures on a phone, so I squeezed by the lady and she starting muttering " you could've said excuse me" I just kept walking and grabbed my stuff and walked passed the other side of the counter and heard her saying "that was rude" and something else. So I went and got the manger and told him what happen, as the lady walked up to us she starting saying how they brushed up against her really hard and hurt her, So I handed my stuff to the manger and said I'm not buying these or shopping here anymore. I can't believe Lowes let their employees treat customers this way. Well you lost a customer today. read more
