This Lowe's is by far the worst hardware store in SETX. The inventory is always off from what their website says leaving you in a bind. For the past two years the shelf organization has consistently been off. I would be remised without saying there are a few good employees that are very helpful. Yesterday I went to the Lowe's in Port Arthur to purchase a 40-gallon gas water heater that was on clearance. Since we didn't have a truck until Friday, my husband asked if we could purchase it now and pick it up later. Two employees -- an Indian male and a woman with a yellow bow in her hair -- said yes and told him to take a picture of the item and its codes to enter it in the system at checkout. We followed their instructions exactly. When we reached the counter, things became frustrating. I was told I could not buy insurance on the water heater because it was reduced, but also that Lowe's could not guarantee the item would work. I asked, "What happens if I take it home and it doesn't work?" The answer was basically nothing -- since it was reduced, it would be out of their hands. I was uneasy, but assumed Lowe's wouldn't knowingly sell a broken unit, so I proceeded. At that point, Maria (the associate helping me) rang me up as though I was taking the unit home that same day. When she realized the mistake, she said she would cancel the transaction, refund me, and recharge it correctly for Friday pickup. She started the refund but needed a manager override. Maria called out to the manager, Daisy, who was standing at the front with other employees. Daisy finally walked over but never acknowledged me. Instead, she told Maria (not me) that she needed the actual item at the counter to override the price. That meant we had to leave the line, with our baby and toddler, hunt down a cart big enough to hold the water heater, load it, and return to the front to stand in line all over again. By this point, we had gone through the line twice and wasted nearly an hour. The entire time, the store intercom was going off repeatedly with employees asking for help -- and Daisy, the manager, remained at the front chatting with other workers. She did not seem concerned with helping customers at all. Finally, Maria went back to Daisy to complete the refund, only to return and tell me that Daisy said clearance items could not be purchased for later pickup. This was the complete opposite of what we had been told by two other employees. In the end, I was left with: No water heater, which my family urgently needs. A $484.09 charge that processed today, tying up my money for 1-2 business days. A wasted trip, wasted time, and no accountability from Lowe's staff. This was one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've ever had. Customers should not be told one thing by employees, made to haul heavy items with children in tow, only to have the manager dismiss the entire process. On top of that, Daisy's attitude and refusal to help showed zero professionalism or empathy. If I could leave a zero star review I would. Bought a weed eater from there yesterday, and the charger didn't work. I Bring the charger back, only to wait 45 minutes for a manager to eventually come. The poor customer service girl repeatedly called for a manager but none came. The current 1.6 star rating is shocking because that means that some people didn't give them 1.0s. David Adame is listed as the GM and he seems to be putting on a clinic on how not to run a store. read more

Went in this morning to buy a lawnmower had problems with the sales. Staff, then had problems with the cashier when it was time for them to bring the mower out to put on my trailer. They told me they could not put fuel in it to move it to my trailer & I would have to push it out and load it myself ?? Went Back to cashier got credit on my credit card & went to Home Depot in Beaumont bought the same mower for $200 less with no hassles and they put it on my trailer with fuel in it. Of the two local lowes (port Arthur and Beaumont) port Arthur lowes is the worst lowes I've even been in as far as customer service, Beaumont being the second. Every time we have gone in, we have waited over two hours for anyone to help in areas of plumbing, flooring, and paint. No matter how many times we ask customer to page someone, no one ever comes. Items are regularly not stocked on the floor and lots of employees just walking around like they have no idea how to help. They will be getting less and less of my money as I find other places to get the same stuff. Never a manager to speak to either, guess they don't care hence why the stores are the way they are... calling customer service on the phone is another joke... read more

I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot but this location frustrates me. First, no one ever seems to answer the phone when you call and the service is hit or miss! Sometimes it's like all the employees are hiding in the break room and customers are all looking for help. Other times you go in and get great customer service and friendly workers who are waiting to help you. I did had one major issue where they gave my washing machine away TWICE, that was to be delivered to my home, to a customer who was in the store. It took a month to get my washing machine but they did give me a $1000 discount, so they at least try to make it right. My most recent visit was great. Went to buy an upright freezer but this time I brought my truck and skipped having it delivered since I was having meat delivered the next day and couldn't chance the washer thing happening again. Salesman was great, helpful, knowledgeable, and even helped me load it. Once I got it home and unpacked I noticed it had a dent on the front door. I called and the manager he put $100 back on my credit card. Again, they made it right. I couldn't give 5 stars because of the inconsistency and the phone issue but I gave 3 because they always make things right when there is an issue. read more

I went to the Port Arthur Lowes Monday Memorial day and bought a washer and dryer from Jonthon. He told me it would be delivered Tuesday and they will hook it all up. He also told me it was in stock here. I said fine but has to be by 1:00 after that no one would be home to get it. He said done. No delivery Tuesday or no call. I called the delivery # and they told me they wouldn't be out until Wednesday between 8-8 again I told them it has to be before 1:00 or after 5:00. Found a group of 5 employee standing around talking, and asked if they could cut the pvc pipe in half. They said, "no, but you can buy a saw here and cut it yourself." I Challenge anyone from the corporate office of Lowes or the regional office of Lowes for this location to try and call the store like I did between 9:30 PM and closing time of 10 PM and try and get someone to answer. I was trying to check on an order and placed and I was concerned because I have been waiting for the order to come in and when I checked online it shows that it already been picked up. I called the store five times between 930 and 10 PM and twice it rang for more than five minutes another time it rang for three minutes and two other times it rang for two minutes each time. Each time someone would pick up and hang the phone back down without Saying a thing. I spent a total of 17 minutes letting the phone ring five different times and no one wanted to talk on the other end. The automated system would only send me to a customer service person who would never answer the phone even though I asked to speak to a manager through the automated system. Again I challenge anyone from corporate office to find out was working the service desk Tues Nov 1 2022 after 9:30 pm. Surely it couldn't be too hard to see who was logged in the register at the service desk because they normally only have one person working in the crew is pretty light most the time I've gone in to the store. Other employees in other departments that I've encountered when I went into the store for the most part I've been helpful and friendly, but somebody needs to address someone who does not feel like answering the phone and talking to a customer. read more

Made purchase late morning, returned in the afternoon to purchase 3/4" 4x8 plywood, after sorting through half the stack finally found 2 sheets that were acceptable, loaded on my cart by myself which was not easy at my age while store employees just walked by. Went to lumber yard check out and asked the cashier if I could leave the cart there as I needed couple things from paint department, gone 5 minutes get back cart is no where to be found, she acted like it was oh well! Yesterday, I waited all day and received neither washer nor call..When I called, I was informed that my order had been canceled although my bank account had been debited. I ordered a shower door online ($500+) because they did not have it in the Port Arthur,TX store. I ordered it on Oct. 20th. They said it would be at my home by Nov 3rd..they put me off to the 5th and then did not know when they could deliver it. Ok, I know shipping is tough right now. I have workmen waiting to finish my bathroom remodel. So, I go buy one in the local store...$400+. not a cheap sale and settle for a door. We are elderly and can not handle 200 pound shower doors. I paid $50 to have the doors delivered to my home today.....My workmen are here now. I get a call from Lowes..they put my doors on the wrong truck...they are now saying it will be tomorrow. I have to cancel other appointments to wait for them tomorrow...my workmen are here now....may not be able to come back tomorrow. This was the last part of my remodel. I called twice to the store. The first time I was put on hold- they never came back to the phone. The 2nd time I got some one named Daisy. She seems top be helpful..says she will call me back. I am paying for a service I have not received as promised! By the way, they delivered a freezer to my 88 yr old friends home and just dropped it off on her drive way. The freezer was damaged when she opened the box! That was a $95 deliver charge as it was ordered online with Lowes! I plan on getting the name of the district manager. read more

I thought south Texas had bad customer service , but Lowe's here won the price . I bought a dryer it was supposed to be deliver on Friday and they called me Friday morning that it was going to be delivered on Sunday July 18th from 12 - 4 pm. I'm here at home waiting for them. It's 4:30 I called the delivery team a young woman answered the phone she said there's nothing on the system with my name or phone number . She placed me on hold again and as she said she would try again . The call was ended . I called customer care and they said all the information it's there and that it was supposed to be delivered Sunday from 12 to 4 pm. That they were sorry I'm having a bad experience to call direct to the delivery team . I called the delivery team locally 2 more times , I let it rang until it ends. I called again to try to talk to a manager , the associate that answered the phone transferred me to a manager that never answered. Got a call from the delivery company the my microwave will be delivered today between 9:30-11:30am. No one showed up no one called. Asked to have a piece of plywood cut to specific dimensions. The guy was supposedly finding a "lumber guy" to do this and directed us to wait by the cutting area. 10 minutes later no sign of anyone. Worst store ever!!! I have been using this store since it opened many many years ago. I have built a two story home and totally rebuilt two others after hurricane Harvey and tropical storm Imelda using this store with absolutely no help from any of the unknowledgeable employees there. I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in this particular store over the many years only to be disappointed with the employees lack of help or behavior or having to listen to them cuss or act like rowdy gang members every time I go in. I had an issue with a manager (so he calls himself. Shaun). not helping me in the lumber dept. one sat morning and literally thought i was gonna have to defend myself against him when he stepped up on me and got aggressive acting like a gang member telling me I ain't gonna talk to him like that. I asked for help with the forklift loading a large order of Sheetrock onto my trailer because I have a bad back and had just spent a large amount of money having my back worked on. He told me to go into the parking lot and go get a cart. I talked to his supervisor on the following Monday morn. And told him that I literally thought I was going to have to fight this guy in the store to defend myself. He still works there to this day. There are many more horror stories I could tell but it would take a week to write them all. I only go in there now if i cant get what i'm Looking for anywhere else. I now use Ritters lumber or drive 20 miles out of my way to got to Home Depot or lowes in Beaumont (not much better) read more

No one working there has a clue how to do anything. It took 45 minutes to get someone to show me where a certain size piece of plywood was, because nothing is marked. I had to ask two separate people and the first was like idk what that is and idk anyone who can help you. The second person was a guy and was as high as a kite. He showed me were it was and walked off after I asked for help to get it down. So me and my daughter managed to get a piece out from under all the other crap that was piled on top of it that didn't belong there. I also dropped it on my foot when a customer saw this he rushed to help and brought it to the checkout counter and loaded it in my truck.
