I have been to this Ace location three times now searching for various items. All three times I…read morehave struck out or encountered BS from the staff and owner. The store itself has over selection of junk trinket type stuff, and not enough useful items at all. The prices are through the roof (which must be why each time I have gone in I was the only customer in the store), they are at the very top of the retail price point on everything. Example - a spray can of stove paint is $7, and right across the street at the big box national chain store it's $3.50 (and the big box paint was rated at 1200 degrees while Ace had it at only 1000 degrees). Ace was also out of the paint to boot, but at least they did try to be helpful and up sell me the brush on stove paint which is over $20.00. Gee, thanks but no thanks, I'll go ahead and buy it at the big box for half the price and take advantage of it actually being on the shelf and rated at a higher temp. It's located behind a dying plaza of empty stores, and the only way in is to find the little side alley that takes you around back of the dying plaza where it's located. Terrible location. When you walk in they do appear to be helpful by asking what you need, but that soon turns into a sort of overbearing "follow you around" type scenario where you get asked multiple times what you need. I recommend to them to take the customers cue when they say they are fine, and just let them browse in peace. I realize I'm the only guy in the store, but I just want to look around and hopefully pick up a few things I need without being followed around. I especially don't need attitude from the owner when I say "thanks, I'm ok for now". On my visit prior to this last one (and it is my last one for sure), I inquired about the kerosene stoves they had for sale. One sales associate (the first to approach me) told me they are refurbished models, previously used but rebuilt with all new parts. The second associate who came over to assist the first then proceeded to tell me that they are "new" and NEVER had been used, but rather they are just "surplus scratch and dent". Which is it guys? (I already know, they are obviously used and refurbed like the first guy told me, but nice try) Also was told by first guy that they don't smell at all, second person said they do smell. Alrighty then.. The place overall reeks of desperation and prices items like one customer is going to pay the entire days operating costs. Even though I much prefer to patron local businesses, this one appears to deserve it's lack of business. If only for the ridiculous prices when you can literally see the big box store right across the street, and not the lousy attitude the owner shows the public. Do not recommend.

I can't speak much about the hardware portion but for the last 5 years our church has rented party…read moreitems for our summer Vacation Bible school. We have rented bounce houses, bounce slide and the dunk tank and have always had wonderful service. They teach you how to set up the equipment, how to take it down and help load and unload. They have worked with me to make sure we get the equipment we need each and every year. One year the bounce house that went with our theme was rented for Saturday and we wanted the bounce house for our Friday night end of VBS party they rented it to us if we were willing to bring back early next morning. They had someone there before business hours to help us unload the bounce house, someone who would then get it ready for the next customer. They could have told us no but instead were willing to work with us. Yes it is out of the way behind the old Roses store but if you need a dunk tank or bounce house they are worth going around the old shopping center to get what you need.
