Never buy an appliance from Lowes. I purchased a dishwasher and scheduled the install date. The installer didn't call me until 10 p.m. the night before the install to tell what the four hour window will be that they would come for the install. Fast forward to after the installation and the washing machine isn't drying the dishes even though I had manufacturer walk me through the settings to ensure that I had the heat function turned on. So last Wednesday morning, I call the Manahawkin store and get put through to the idiotic AI system, which finally says someone would call me that day to schedule the service call. No one called so at 8 p.m. I go to the store. Customer services tells me I have to go to appliances. Appliances says they just sell appliances, they don't provide any customer services. I go back to customer services and the people there insist that it's up to appliances to schedule the service call, but they take my number down and say someone will call the next day. Ok, so no one calls the next day so I call lowes back up at 4 p.m. Customer services explains that they weren't supposed to call me. Rather appliances was. So I get a manager on the phone to complain and he eventually transfers me to appliances which gives me a phone number to call for services. After being on hold with services for half an hour, I finally get through to someone who says they will send me an appointment time on the following day. Oh, and by the way, the people who will come out won't be repair techs. Rather they will be the installation team and if they can't figure out what is wrong they will get a tech to come out, which I'm sure would delay the repair a few more days and involve endless waits on hold with scheduling. So on Friday, I get an email saying the installation team will come between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday. On 4 O'clock on Monday, my renter says she received a message from the install team but it didn't say when they will come. She called back and got their answering machine and left a message. She also texted. So I call the service number and listen to a Lowe's employee blame everything on their installation vendor, Crest Home Solution (not to be confused with Crest Construction, who I used recently and was excellent) who finally transferred me to Crest Home Solutions. The person there said the installers called and my renter didn't answer, so they cancelled the service call, never mind that my renter tried calling them back and also texted them. So, now the best they can do is schedule another appointment for the install team three days from now. When I asked to speak to the Crest Home Solutions manager, I was told the manager only communicates via email! How's that for customer service! So I ask the telephone rep to have the manager email me and said he would let the manager know that he needs to email. Of course, the manager has yet to email me. Lowes and Crest Home Solutions are a total mess. Never buy an appliance from them. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE HOME IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS FROM LOWES. We purchased a Therma Tru front door and sidelights at considerable cost from Lowes in Manchester Twp. NJ. Upon installation the door did not close right and I imediately told the installers. They told me that it needs to "break In". It was obvious that the door was warped and I proceeded to open a claim with them before they left. Aftter almost a year of going back and forth with Lowes, the installers, the representatives and installers from Therma Tru, the new door was finally installed. Lowes kept blaming Therma Tru and Therma Tru blamed the installers. The communication with both companies was terrible. I never spoke with the same person twice at Lowes and although they say they were keeping notes and our phone conversations were recorded they claimed to not know what was going on. Lowes installers came out 3 times as did Therma Tru installers with each blaming each other. Lowes insisted that I was a valued customer and said that I would recieve compensation, after the new door was installed I never heard back from them. Also, at one point I had a three way conversation with Therma Tru and Lowes. At that time the rep. from Therma Tru yelled, did not let me explain the situation and was very rude. I did get a call back from a supervisor from Therma Tru and she appologised. Since getting no where with getting the warped door replaced, I filed a complaint/dispute with Lowes credit card which I financed and paid in full with long before the door was installed. There are much more things that happened during this purchase (all not good) but don't have the time for Lowes anymore. They have lost a customer for life. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. read more

Drove down after confirming they had a pallet of tile I needed for my kitchen project. As it was discontinued I needed to track down enough to make a trip worthwhile. When I arrived the associate I spoke to had misidentified the material and couldn't locate what I actually needed. The assistant store manager got involved and insisted he would make this right. I drove back home and received a call shortly after that he found the tile and would ship it free of charge and at half price. Very good customer service and the way to make a bad situation right. read more

"Oh..they don't work for us anymore"...so I get reset up for another company to come...it gets measured.. door ordered and last MONDAY rec a call that my door will arrive in two days.. which would be Wednesday...9 days later.. today..I call to see what's going on..and I'm told.. "well we only got a measurement done" I'm like what!!! I asked for a manager . 30 minutes waiting and call gets disconnected.. called back.. tell operator I was still waiting...and again..placed on hold... transferred around and again disconnected... after 20 minutes!! Oh but they are taking my payment every month for the 2000. plus I paid for the door!!!.... total bullshit.. I needed this door BEFORE THE WINTER KICKED IN! MUST BE NICE TO JUST FUCK WITH PEOPLE THIS WAY AND GET AWAY WITH IT!!! I was ordering a rug for my house, salesman was nice and I thought very helpful. He explained about the process we agreed and set up a time for them,(the company they hire to install the rug to come out and measure. It was scheduled for Thursday between 8 and 12. The company called and said the appointment was for Wednesday between 8 and 9. We said no it's Thursday they argued with us, we had it written down, but they did not care. Strike 1. We moved our schedule around to acomidate them. I did call Lowe's and complained, management said the would give us some sort of percentage off. The man came to measure, very nice and professional. He said Lowe's will contact us with a price. The price was about 800 dollars more than we figured. When we picked out the carpet is was 7.09 a square foot, this was explained to my significant other and I that that was the price of the rug, best padding and installation. When we received the estimate it was that price plus 470.00 dollars for labor. I called and had them explain this, they said that's the system that adds that in for the padding. This just did not make sense. I asked how does this work. They kept insisting that that's the way their system works. The manager also said that he gave me a 200 dollar plus, credit. I was dumfounded he either thought I was that stupid or he just didn't get it. Long story short if you have to get carpet from Lowe's, you should really read over the estimate. I ended up cancelling and got a better deal from a local ,small business. Saved me over a thousand dollars, same rug and better padding . I only gave them one star because there was nothing lower. I bought a refrigerator and a dishwasher the other day. I tried to call the appliance department at 1:30 in the afternoon. Nobody answered the phone. I called back every hour and nobody answered the phone. I figured I would try the paint department lumber and plumbing. Nobody answered the phone in any of those departments. I have been a contractor for 30 years and recently this has happened twice. With everything going on it is harder to find materials for jobs. I needed a Sterling tub surround to finish a bathroom. Turnersville showed one in stock. Drove 20 minutes to get there to find they did not have any. So I checked the Lowes app and found the only store that had then within 50 miles was lowes Manahawkin. I called the store and punched the prompt for Bath. No one answered. Called the pro desk toget told what I knew that they showed 2. I asked for a visual check and was told they had to call me back as no one was picking up in that department. It was getting close to rush hour , so I decided to take a chance and head that way as it was an hour ride. Lowes did call back and said there were 2 on the shelf. I asked for them to pull one down as I was on my way and I needed to get back to my job as workers were waiting. I arrived to find not only wasn't it pulled, no one has a license to operate the lift and no attempt was being made to find a resolution. 45 minutes past and I made my displeasure more vocal. Finally a gentleman from appliance came over and used a different lift to get the box. I asked for a discount because of bad service and I was told they can't. If it wasn't for the fact that I had two workers on the clock waiting for me I would have waited for the manager. I spent over $234,000 at lowes last year and depot is no better. Overall typical Lowe's - home improvement store/warehouse. Much less construction like Home Depot, more geared to the home. Much more manageable than Home Depot for the laymen. What I like about the Lowe's in Manahawkin is the Garden Center. Everything you need for you shore house garden. A large selection of annuals, perennials, potted plants, and vegetables in the early season. Tons of rock, state, bricks, material to build your own ponds, filters, birdbaths, and sheds. You can also rent large trucks or flatbeds for hauling (note that they run out early in the day on spring and summer weekends as everyone is trying to fix up their summer homes!). There is even a clearance rack where they have the leftover and lying plants. If you have a green thumb, this is for you. Plants on this rack many times are in the $0.10 to $2.00 range. Contracted with Lowes for window installation. Job was not done as expected when signing up with Lowes sales rep. Expected widow installation to look like others in the community. Windows were installed flush to the interior and was told they could not be installed flush to exterior. Installers (Professional Installs and Remodelling of Tom's River,NJ) do not know how to properly install replacement window. Screen Tight product on the exterior was to be removed and this was not done. Lowes customer service does not return calls. My recommendation is to NOT use Lowes or Professional Installs. read more

We signed a contract to install a 37' privacy fence two months ago. They brought it today, 2 months later, after several calls to find out why it was taking so long to see it was completely the wrong fence including color. They actually lied to me and my husband all that time that the fence was there but now were waiting for the hindges. It was only 37' imagine if it was the entire yard. I guess the worst part of it is that we had to pay for it entirely before they even ordered the fence. What a way to do business. I know I will never purchase anything from lowes again. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THIS LOWES. Ordered a freezer chest, called to see if it came in, they said yes and to pull up and they would put it in my car. I thought "great". Only to get there and be told it never came in after waiting over a half hour for someone to tell me this. Meanwhile got a ticket for parking outside (my fault-should not have followed their direction) tried to speak to a store manager about my experience. They said he would be right up, only to be told 10 minutes later he was out to lunch after I asked for him again. Spoke to the next person in charge. Was totally not interested in hearing about my experience. Everyone person I spoke to was rude and unhelpful, and I was calm and polite the entire time. So disappointed in this place. Poor customer service. NEVER enough cashiers. Cross train the 6 guys I saw standing in one of the aisles and when I ask someone to get more registers open please don't argue with me....... I haven't been there once where there have been enough registers. The excuse was that the other employees don't use the registers which shouldn't be a reason. All employees at a store should be cross trained in the case of call outs or surges in customers. The only reason why I go to Lowe's over HD next door is the free gift cards I get from work! this is one of the places I purchase my home improvement supplys, I especially like they have installation services for some items, for the items that they do install they have a set price for installation like if you want to replace a light fixture or toliet bowl for example they have the install cost posted near the items, of course if additional work is needed to be done it may end up costing more like in all cases, i just love the fact theres no need to call someone up to come to your home for an estimate. read more

So tried to order vinyl flooring. First, hard to find a salesperson. Finally did and guy came out to measure in a few days. I had to call them to find out if I could complete the order. I went to finalize and they wanted 100% of the cost of material and labor paid up front without even knowing when or who would be doing the installation! If I could give no stars I would. I picked 1 star just to prove how horrible this location is. The treatment I received was horrible. I made a purchase for a back foot in 2014. It's now July of 2015. I have no door and was told they can't find a door to fit my entry way. This is after I made my purchase!!! Marilyn in installs was rude and said the installer that initially measured was let go. That has nothing to do with me. Jason the supervisor didn't even have the decency to speak with me over the phone. I was told I would receive call backs and numerous times was never called. I put my schedule on hold at work to meet with installers only to be told that job couldn't be done. Horrible location. My house was in Hurricane Sandy. I don't want special treatment just a job done that was promised to me. I was refunded my gift card and am now bound to that location in Manahwkin NJ.
