Sold me 5 gal of deck sealer, which developed a slippery, waxy surface as it dried. I applied it exactly according to directions, but they would not stand by the product. They kept trying to blame me, then finally told me I would have to take it up with the supplier, Thompson's Waterseal. I not only lost the money for the product, but had to pay someone to come and powerwash the wax away so that I could walk on the deck. No more Lowes! I will drive to Hope Depot, 40 miles away, to get real service. read more

They sell you a Storm door and the mechanism in the door is broke, so they tell you you need a new handle. The new handle wasn't the problem and they will not take the handle back because it is now clearances from the 69 dollars that was spent to $14.72. they refuse to do anything about it. I am now on a crusade to get a Home Depot in Crossville! Don't buy from this store, they are idiots and dumb as dirt! read more

I ordered a new washer and dryer for deliver. Got told it would deliver on November 3rd and on the day of deliver, I got an email changing the date to the 8th. When I called about the change, I was told I changed the date (I did not). After arguing about it for a while, I was told I could cancel the order and reorder for a closer delivery, but I could not get my order delivered earlier. Makes sense right?? When I looked into reordering, the delivery date was the same as mine already was changed to. I looked into other places and my items are backordered through them. So I am just screwed and have to take the new date. Worst experience ever with a place of business. Won't be going back ever again. read more

We needed a toilet and installation before weekend guests arrived. in addition to waiting at least half an hour for somebody to wait on us, the contractor was not informed until five days after we made the purchase. We were informed by email that the toilet was not scheduled to be installed until three days after we needed it. I have done business with Lowes stores for 20 years. During those years, customer service has steadily declined to the point that it's almost non-existent. read more

Big store, a lot of staff, and many poor reviews, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I am fortunate enough to get help from Carolyn (Caroline?) I am overly impressed. I am a very self-sufficient Pro-Member, but she always makes me feel well taken care of' and never leaves without me being %100 satisfied. She'll always help answer my questions, research in-stock product, or relentlessly find someone who can. Sells merchandise and claims they deliver but delivery never comes. Scheduled delivery a week in advance, day before they call and say there is a scheduling conflict. Set up for following Tuesday. Day of get a call and say cannot deliver because a glitch in system. Rescheduled for Wednesday. I had to call to find out when delivery will be made. Told was going to be in afternoon. When did not come I called and they said they made a mistake and because they looked at the previous day delivery and not todays delivery. Merchandise was not being delivered. Earliest was Friday. Set up for Friday AM. At 5/30 on Thursday get email saying delivery is scheduled for 1:00-500PM. All the Lowes employees at warehouse are very untruthful. Like pulling teeth to get to truth why not receiving merchandise. Example, can't reschedule delivery until merchandise is back in warehouse off the truck that failed to make delivery. Set up time for delivery only to have Lowes unilaterally change delivery time. They love to put blame on their 3rd party delivery service but continues to use them. Recommend using Home Depot or even Costco. We are done with a Lowes and their lack of integrity. BTW, said I would rent Uhaul and pick up merchandise. They informed me that cannot provide the address where their warehouse is. Guess it's a top secret location which also houses government documents. Update- Got email last night saying merchandise would be delivered between 1:00-4:00. Called and was told delivery will be between 1:30 - 5:30. On 28th of February, I went into Lowe's to purchase a washing machine. I told the associate I was able to take delivery today since I had my pickup truck. The associate stated that the only one in stock was the was floor model. She checked on her computer at other nearby stores and found that no other stores had the washing machine in stock except for floor models which could not be sold. She told me that the store was expecting deliveries later in the week or the following. I returned March 7 and inquired if a washing machine had arrived. I was told by a male associate that Lowe's no longer accepted appliances at the store that all appliances were now shipped from a distribution center. I was informed in order to get my appliance, I had to cancel my Feb. 28 order and do a new order, in order to get my appliance delivered. Ok....New order great. It will arrive on March 15....On March 14, email...your order will arrive March 22. March 21 email, your order will arrive March 29. WTF right...So I call appliance manager. She admits she has incompetent sales people working in appliances, cant find good staff, proceeds to blame me for not calling the distribution center or there would have not been such a delay. I've looked on my emails and receipt...no mention of having to call, no phone number except for the local store. The appliance manager provides me with 865-205-3174. I call this number on March 21....recording says "leave a message". I go to Lowe's in Crossville and speak to the manager. Young kid indifferent to my situation....basically cant do crap for you. its out of his hands, cant even make a phone call. According to him it has to be from the "Customer" offers the phone number and I tell him I already have it and left. I call 865-205-3174 and provide them with my order number. Hummm cant find order, repeat number. I'm reading it off the receipt and email both identical and the guy says...I have no record. Well Im livid and on my way to Lowe's in Crossville and called the number again just in case I was dealing with another untrained Lowe's employee. A woman answer the phone about one mile out from Lowe's took about 25 minutes of wait time. I give her my order number and she finds it without much effort, knows all about me and I explain the trouble and that fact that it will be at least a month without a washing machine. She sorry for my inconvenience and states that she has prioritize my order and gives me a reference #08372---. So here we are. Go anywhere but here for your appliances. Bottom line once they sell you an appliance to you, the responsibility is no longer theirs. read more

I regularly shop at Lowe's in Crossville. I consistently get the best customer service from all the employees. I've shopped at countless different Lowe's stores across the country and have never had so many employees offer assistance even before I can ask! It's delightful! I purchase a lot of DIY materials, appliances, gardening, plumbing, cabinetry, electrical, and household items from this store. Every department has someone who seems happy to help me. The prices are fair and the special sales are always a treat. Way to go Lowe's in Crossville!! read more

Bad experience at the Outdoor Garden center today. I was attempting to purchase some grass seed and I could not get anyone to help me load up .When I finally found someone a lady named Cathy she said she was going to get a cart and she never returned. So I passed on the seed and asked for a manager at the service desk. I waited for 20 minutes and no one showed up .With management and workers like that I recommend you shop else where. read more

I went into the Lowe's as I have done many times in the past. When I went to checkout they said my military discount was rejected. I showed them my ID card but was told that wasn't good enough. I left my order and left. So much for doing business with Lowe's. read more

Please save yourself time and money. If you require human assistance or installation, this is not a store that can list these attributes as strong skills. We went into Lowe's today. August 2,2020. Mid-pandemic. All larger stores (Walmart, Kroger, Food City) have ALL customers workers wearing masks. Crossville Lowe's? Nope. More customers NOT wearing them than there were wearing them. My boyfriend just finished remodeling a house and is about to start on a few Condo's. Ace will get our business moving forward. I ordered a new washer with a Tues morning delivery time that was confirmed Monday evening and again Tues morning. I received a text message saying they would be here in 30 min, but they never showed up. Two hours later they called to say the driver saw a sign for 'no trucks allowed' so they went on to the next delivery! Every navigation system re-routes when you pick the wrong road, what idiots! I called Lowes and they said sorry, once it leaves the store they have nothing to do with it.... well I didn't hire the third-party delivery company, they did, so they should be doing something about it. Now it will not be delivered until Thurs, so another day off work due to their incompetence. I'll find another store that actually cares about their customers. read more

This is without a doubt THE worst Lowe's I have ever had to deal with and it is common knowledge to people who have lived around here awhile. So if you are new to the area go to the Harriman store. The management sucks to begin with. The employees are on a revolving door. The training sucks we are told. Specifically they sold me an appliance but never told me I would not be able to find anyone to repair it in my area. Why would you sell something to someone you know they could not get repaired?! Because they don't care that's why. When I called their customer service their attitude was why are you acting so upset about this? Why? Why? Looking for a door? KEEP LOOKING, this store has the absolute worst mill works dept. Employees are insufficiently trained on the use of the computer. They stall and hand you off to others equally inept. Spent in excess of 4 hours at this store and walked away empty handed. Spent $50 to have a so called professional measure my door, thru lowes, now the store, the pro, and the company he works for, will not return calls. Absolute worst store. Will avoid all future business with them also. Only big box in area, maybe that why you're treated the way you are, I don't know. Can only hope, Home Depot comes to crossville soon. read more

I am so frustrated at how the sales associates assigned to specific dept are not well knowledgeable. I've ended up with either the wrong item or paid for merchandise that i didn't need. i have to drive 55 miles back to the store. today I took back some things. one of those was a weather stripping. they were out of most of them. i took it back cuz it was the wrong type. I even brought a piece of my old one into the store. so I was given a merchandise card cuz the lady really didn't want to look up the ticket number. she said to not use the self check with it. I proceeded to the garden center. a sales associate helped me get a large roller cart for one large size bag of potting soil. my car was parked right across from the garden door. it only took me 3 mins to place it on the cart and roll to the checkout. a different sales associate yelled out we are locking this door. they was a bad storm coming. all i wanted was to get out that door. so I had to roll it up the check out. only thing open was self checkout. I left the cart and walked out. I will make all efforts to shop other stores for my needs such as hardware. so disappointed in the decline of this store. read more

I go to Lowes just about every week to get supplies, tools, materials. It seems that every couple months or so they have a problem with their phone system. A couple days earlier I came in looking for floor adhesive for vinyl tile and there wasn't any on the shelf. So Days later I call the store and let the phone ring over and over for 55 minutes before anyone picked up the phone in Customer Service. Finally Sarah Joe Picks up. She's dealing with a customer at the desk and taking my call. She multitasked like a champ! The customer she was dealing with thanked her for her promptness. She answered my question and put 2 one gallon buckets on hold just for me to pick up at Customer Service. It was 2 days later when my order came in. I went there to get it and Sarah Joe was the one at the desk who got it for me. I noticed she was multitasking with customers, the register, employees who came to her wanting to know where something was. The whole time she's zipping back and forth getting things done, keeping customers happy rather than frustrated. I overheard her saying the Phone system is still messed up that every call to the store was going to her alone. Had I been in her shoes I would have been ready to pull my own hair out. But not Sarah Joe. She was smiling the whole time with everybody. Never once showed any frustration. With each customer she handled and each call she took she made quick work of solving the issues and moved right on to the next without skipping a beat. This woman deserves a raise, a promotion, her own parking spot, and "Employee" of the year! Skip ahead a couple minutes. I go back to the flooring section. I look at the rack of rolled Linoleum wanting to pick out one but the price tags were missing from most. So I go to the flooring dept. desk. The guy was busy with an irate customer so I knew this would take a while. I politely interrupted the flooring guy to see if someone could help me. He looked around a yelled at a guy to come over but he was busy too. So he said I'd just have to wait. I pushed the button for assistance 3ft from where he was standing. Finally another guy comes over. But says he has to get someone else to help me. Then a couple minutes later another guy comes over that actually helped me. The whole time this was going on there were 3 employees just standing next to the Linoleum rack just chit chatting away like they had not a care in the world. Not one of them asked if I or anyone else needed any assistance. It seems as if Lowes feels like that since they are the only big hardware chain in the area they don't have to worry about keeping customers happy because we have no where else to go. Well that's not quite true. I now go to CCI on West Ave for my wood. I go to Wholesale Supply on Main St. for my plumbing and electrical supplies. It's more stops I have to make but it actually takes me less time to deal with these suppliers with no hassles. I don't have to look around for someone to help me. I look forward to the day Home Depot comes to town!!!! read more
