In my subdivision, our mailboxes are grouped together four or six on a post. Mine is a grouping of four. I've lived in my house now, four years. My box was in need of replacement when I moved in and over the years it gotten more wear and tear. I definitely needed a new mailbox and didn't want to get one and have all my neighbors not have one. Honestly, their boxes were in need of being replaced, too. Originally, I wanted to get them all new boxes for Christmas, but I didn't get my act together in enough time. However, I did have my act together for Valentines. I talked with my neighbors son who does my lawn work and he said if I bought the boxes, he and his dad would install them for everybody. When I went to Lowe's to buy the boxes, I couldn't find them on the signs telling you what was down each aisle. I meet an associate walking the opposite direction as I was, so I stopped them asked for directions. He quickly got me to the right aisle. I was surprised at the variety of boxes, they had a variety of sizes, styles and prices. I found the style I wanted and the color I preferred. Unfortunately, there were only two available at my level of reach. I looked up and saw two more at the very top of the shelving unit. An associate was helping another gentleman in the aisle, so I went up and asked him to assist me, too. He went and got one of those rolling racks and a co-worker. When they came back, one climbed the rack and handed my new mailboxes down one by one. I was impressed that they practiced safety. My/our new mailboxes look great, the only downside is the mail person still delivers bill in them. read more

We went in the store, picked out the doors we were interested in, and the Mill work associate who helped us sat us up for an appointment for the installers could come out and measure the doorway. Well, one came out, on schedule and after he measured he said that he'd get us the price by the next business day. Well, we didn't hear from him, again. Another Lowe's associate with Millwork Installations came out and measured again, and he didn't get back with us, either. We're more than 1 month in this and still, no resolve. Paid $14,000 to have a fence installed back in April. Lowe's insists on full amount up front. Not surprised. Once they have your money, they could care less about the job. Was supposed to be done by middle of June. Hasn't even been started and it's the end of June. Every time I call, I get the same runaround. "Let me put you on hold while we contact the installer." 15 minutes later, I'm told "I got his voicemail and left him a message to call you." Same routine every time. I didn't sign a contract with some installer, I signed a contract with Lowe's. Finally around the 24th, I hear from the installer. He's going to start on the 27th. Lowe's delivers the fencing on the 26th and when the installer shows up on the 27th he discovers Lowe's didn't deliver any cement. After numerous phone calls to Lowe's by me and the installer, we still haven't got any ETA for the cement delivery. read more

Lowes advertises free carpet installation but it is not feee. BEWARE!! Their advertisement says free installation with purchase of carpet and padding over 499.00 total. The issue is they up charge the padding price to cover install cost. This is no where in their advertising and is deceptive to say the least. Reached out to CEO and he has Jay call me who ends up doing nothing. Provided them all the info and asked where their advertisement says passing had to be purchased through installer to get their one year labor warranty. They provided nothing. Going to reach out to attorney general and look for lawyer as I am sure there are many others that have been duked. Lowes just honor your advertisement. As well they are Uber added in 50 square foot more then any other and they claim is to ensure enough to cover all. Such BS as no others do this amount. Also if you need carpet go to Home Depot. They don't have the deceptive practice and they offer a 5 year install warranty not a one year. read more

Bought what was supposed to be a BRAND NEW $1500 refrigerator that was delivered today, yeah its been rewrapped, sticker on it to indicate it had been "worked on", filter and parts already installed that shouldnt have been, and a broken water line/hose. Wasnt delivered by lowes or its employees which i just think its wrong but ‍ my boyfriend that purchased it took day off just for this, NOW all communication is through a third party delivery place and we have to wait and he has to take ANOTHER day off to have a hopefully NEW one delivered AGAIN. I called lowes and the only thing i pretty much got from the coversation was "we just sell the product" and "we dont actually get to see product" and she in other words asked me what i wanted them to do, uhhhhh how about u and the other company figure that out since we already bought this from you!!!! What is goin on nowadays with places?! Will definitely go somewhere else next time where the company that sells product will deliver and install and communicate without any middle man!!! My visit to Lowes started off fine. I found the items I needed, then when to the front of the store to check out. I was told by an employee that, apparently, Lowes no longer has cashiers to check you out (with the exception of the lumber department). Self-checkout is the only option. I walked to the lumber department because I don't choose to use the self-check-out option. This is not acceptable to me. Leave it to Lowes to put the bottom line first ahead of customers and employees. What a greedy move. Since Lowes is cutting costs and making the move to cut out employees, prices should go down too! Ordered shutters in March and due to one of the employees not submitting the paperwork (not due to Covid or manufacturing or anything else) the shutters were not ready for install until July 22nd. This order was for only one shutter for one window. During the time in between, it was terrible trying to get through to speak with people to even figure out what was going on with the order. Without my persistence, I would have never gotten the shutters as they didn't even realize the error. The prompting on the Lowe's automated phone service is not helpful and very annoying. Recently my work place partnered with Lowe's competitor for a project. The store manager called me and wanted to partner with us as well. YEAH for community involvement and partnerships. I was greeted warmly by every associate that I met during my visit. I talked briefly with the store manager, and he is hoping that they can help us with our project. Rating below zero-Do not go there. Customer service sucks. They do not care about the customers. I went there to get a dishwasher and was ignored by the people. I asked Rachel to page someone to the appliance dept and was told in a sharp manner- "When I go back up front". I Asked a male associate named Josh to page someone to the appliance department he said he would, but he did not. So then I go to the customer service desk just to see Rachel ( who i spoke to earlier requesting assistance) there and confirmed that she did not page anyone to appliances. So I supposedly talked to a supervisor who had the same attitude :"did not care". Then I Left and called Lowe's asked for the manager and got in touch with the assistant manager Dakota, same attitude. They Did not care about customer service. No apology- nothing. I would give a zero if I could. We went to the Lowe's in Alton to look at purchasing a 5 cu. ft. chest freezer. We found what we were looking for but the ONLY person working in the appliance area was busy with a customer and there was another customer waiting. My husband stopped an employee to ask for help and he told us he would let the appliance associate know that we were waiting. After waiting for at least 15 minutes and after being passed by numerous employees who simply looked at us and went on by, we left because, again, the only salesmen in the department was still with the same customer. We DO NOT shop at Lowe's for this very reason but my Mom was with us and was the one who suggested we go there. After leaving the store, we went across the highway to Home Depot and were not only helped immediately, but were helped by David, a young man who works in flooring but who helped us anyway because the associates who worked in the appliance department were busy. Kudos to Home Depot for cross training their employees to help everyone. From the time we walk in Home Depot, there are staff members greeting us and eager to help. You're lucky to even find an associate at Lowe's other than the cashiers up front. David at Home Depot sold us not only a chest freezer but we also upgraded to a bigger freezer due to the sale they were having. He even offered to take it to our car for us. Now THAT is service. Lowe's is obviously too cheap to hire workers to help their customers which tells me that they really don't care about us. Thankfully, there is an alternative. We left Lowe's a long time ago but my Mom still thought it was a good place to shop. Not anymore and I know many more who have moved "across the highway' as well. December 2019 paid for new water heater and to have it installed. Contracted plumber called the same day to set installation date day on that Sunday. He said he would be by to drain the water while he went to get the new one. He left to get the new one but did not drain the old one. 30 minutes later a lady called to say she was calling to reset installation time and day because they didn't have the water heater in stock. That's not possible. I paid for it 3 days prior. Plumber calls after I hang up with her and said must of been mix up but he was too far away by now to come back. I called Lowe's the manager checked and said 20 in stock. She called him then me back to say he was coming back. He called seconds later said he was not coming back she doesn't set his schedule. Get the water heater installed the next day. Went to Lowe's on Wednesday to express my unhappiness with the way everything went down. I know now after speaking with the manager that he didn't even go there to get it. He was overbooked so he just went on to the next job. Who does this to customers? I have bought essentials here over 10 times, and often am impressed with the ability of the staff to answer my home improvement questions and "what item can you offer to fix this issue..." questions. I dont know how they find such experienced people. I got a Lowes Credit Card and save 5% every time, and rarely have to wait in checkout lines, though that may be because I live in an out of the way suburb where most stores are not busy. In December the space heater guy gave me good advice, and last summer, the lawnmower guy had some helpful personal experience to assist me in my decision making. read more

I am so frustrated with this Lowe's.....it is not even funny. You can hardly ever find anyone to assist you. In this particular instance that has put me over the edge is that we need a refrigerator...........like today! I went into this store on Saturday.....looked at every refrigerator there waiting for the clerk to be done with their transaction and come help me. That didn't happen and I left. So I went back today on Sunday to talk to someone and see what fridges they had in stock. Again, looked at all fridges while the attendant was dealing with a customer. The attendant noticed there were several of us waiting for her assistance and called over the loudspeaker that help was needed in that department. 2 times she did this. No one came. My husband and I left, but I asked to speak with a manager before I left. I told him that selling a $2,000 to $3,000 fridge was a pretty big deal....yet there was no one there to speak with and that this happened on both Saturday and Sunday and that I won't be coming back. I indicated tat the problem is NOT JUST IN APPLICANCES.....it is throughout the whole store. Told him that I would go to Alton Refrigeration to get my appliance because I know I will get someone to help me there and that they seem to care about the customer and want to keep their good name. read more

You must return the product to the distributor or manufacturer if there is a problem, and I can guarantee you there probably will be with the low quality merchandise they are selling. 31 July 2017, I made a I made $401.72 purchase for delivery on Friday 4 Aug 2017. I received a phone call on the 4th that informed me the delivery truck broke down. I understand the problem an reschedule for the 11th (a morning delivery). I added more items to the delivery, $123.90. I called on 11 August to check the time of delivery. I was told my order was delayed because the truck is still down. I received no heads up this time. The Assistant Manager Bobbie apologized but could not guarantee delivery. At this point, I was upset. Getting no satisfaction on delivery time, I cancelled the order an requested a refund. I went across the street to Home Depot and ordered everything and it will be delivered 12 Aug (1 day). Over the last 3 years, I have spent over $11,000 at Lowes on Homer Adams.
