Came same day and fixed the problem the next. Prices are reasonable. Great service all around.

A broken garage door spring on a Sunday evening is no fun. I called Atlantic Garage Door Repair…read moreMonday morning for a repair quote. The expert from Atlantic called me back within an hour and set up an appointment for later that morning. His quote was reasonable, and he showed up on time. Our repair - replacing two springs and lubricating the door assembly was done within 45 minutes. Jim, who did our work and who is also the owner of the company explained what he did, and the bill was for exactly what he quoted. Having a professional working for you on a project for which you have absolutely zero knowledge with an excellent outcome is a dream on a Monday morning. This was an outstanding outcome for us.

Exceptional Service - Even Outside His Area!…read more We can't say enough good things about Jim and his garage door repair service. Although we were outside of his service area, Jim still took the time to help us. After getting a $1,400 quote from another company, we contacted Atlantic. Jim spoke with us over the phone, diagnosed the issue right away, told us exactly which parts to buy from a local home improvement store, and even gave us a realistic idea of what a local handyman should charge to install them. He said he'd be happy to walk us through the repair over the phone if we decided to tackle it ourselves -- all completely free of charge! To top it all off, he followed up the next day via text just to see if we'd found someone to help. We ended up spending a little over $400 for parts and installation instead of $1400 thanks to Jim. This kind of honesty, kindness, and professionalism is rare. If we were in his service area, he'd be our go-to for life. Highly, highly recommended!

Called them on Wednesday and they did their best to get my door fixed on Wednesday. Tristan came out who was quite easy to talk to and knowledgeable about garage door repairs. He replaced a bad wire, lubed and adjusted different things. Door works great! I highly recommend Prolift Garage Doors to service your garage door.

We noticed that it seemed to "bounce" on opening since purchasing it, but about 24 hours prior to the service we noticed that after completing an opening cycle the door would start to slip down. ProLift technician Jared, was able to come out within an hour of my telephone call. He diagnosed the problem and consulted with other staff at the company to provide me with solution: increasing the spring tension, lubricating the end bearing and rollers, and resetting the limits on the opener. There was no charge for the service call, only the labor, which amounted to $159 for our two-car-sized door. I did locate a sticker in the garage that suggested perhaps Precision had installed the door when the home was constructed. Jared also found some indicator on the hardware indicating Precision had installed it. I had called Precision after initally scheduling the appointment with ProLift, and Precision wanted $95 just to come out. I told them, "No, thank you." We recommend ProLift for being prompt, affordable, and friendly.

I was rather irritated as I was worried the whole garage door could've fallen, and it happened on a Friday so we weren't going to be able to use the garage door until Monday. He did not disagree with me regarding the quality of the existing unit that came with my brand new home 6 months ago, which was not working properly, and below par for the quality and workload it was required to do for my heavier than normal and wind resistant double door. My research had revealed a higher quality door opener had been recommended to the builder of our community, but they went with one that was just barely able to do the job, and offered only a one year warranty. I know because I used to install these doors myself. Some of the other door companies never pointed out to me that replacing my unit with the same one again was not in my best interest. I assume they were not very honest or qualified, or were simply looking for a lot of repeat customers. I just selected a proper unit with a built-in emergency battery, a motion sensor that turns on the light by itself and shuts off automatically after a few minutes, produced more power, was much quieter with a belt drive, and came with a 5 year warranty (lifetime warranty on some parts)--like the builder should have used. I assume it was a saving-money issue. The massive amount of new construction in the Myrtle Beach area with sub-par cost-cutting practices requires new home-buyer awareness. It may be better to have an upgrade performed if you have an agreeable contractor. I recommend Skylift Garage Doors of Myrtle Beach. Check Yelp Reviews first. You are doing that right now. Wise Choice. Be careful not to hire any company the local police may consider to be crime in progress--before you put your wallet up to your head and pull the trigger...
