Friendly staff and servers are eager to grab you whatever it is that wets your whistle. The large tiki seats a good number of people both at the bar and at tables. They have a variety of sizes to accommodate smaller or larger parties. Outside of the thatched roof tropical bar area lies a large patio along the docks of the canal holding tables with umbrellas. They had 3-man live band playing music while we were there. Loud enough to enjoy but not so much that you couldn't talk. The food all looked really good. We ordered fish bites. My only complaint. They're made with Swai. It's an imported fish from Asia. A type of catfish that is farmed. Ehhh. If I had known that before ordering I probably my would not have. I'd rather see local fish or at least fish from the USA. Especially being in a huge fishing town in SW FL. Service was terrible. We are native and went there where all the drunken spring breakers happened to be. There are no rules specified on which server takes care of tables or the bar spaces. We were told to ask anyone working if we needEd anything. No one came around to ask. My husband caught one and asked for a seltzer, Lite beer and a sprite for the 3 of us. Our friend had opened a tab already. A very rude server wouldn't allow me to order a can of soda to our seating unless she walked to the table (already in clear view) from where we were standing). She wanted confirmation of a tab. I just handed her a backup card (assuming speak-breakers may be disorderly and dishonest, to reassure her). I proceeded to the bathroom, as I have bladder cancer and I needed to make it to the restroom in time. The rude woman server took the soda can and my card to the table and proceeded to talk very unkindly about me to my husband and friend. She said she wouldn't serve me and some other commenters I wont mention. My friend ordered me a second, but because the rude server thought it was in the best interest to insult me to my husband and friend, we decided to leave. For the big picture, there were so many beyond wasted people there. We aren't on vacation and we are 50 years old with enough manners. class, and education to never be disruptive or cause a scene. She wasn't worth my husband and friend to even dignify her comments, so we just left. I'm am the most polite customer, I tip well, and I present myself appropriately dressed, etc. I went to the car, my husband withheld even challenging her nonsense, incoherent babbling. I'm upset he even tipped her as well as he did, as she did nothing but hand him a can of coke and make derogatory remarks about his wife behind my back. The tiki bar itself is not overall terrible, but I won't ever return. Management needs to hire more polite servers and maybe some training. I am too kind of a person to call and complain, or ask for a manger, etc. Perhaps I should have, because I should not tolerate that treatment from a service industry, nor do I deserve it ( no one should) . We always keep our area clean, behave well and overtip. I am considering calling the manager, but if the staff is any reflection of the entire restaurant, it may not be worth my time and energy. If my husband talked to them and didn't have the restraint to walk away, he would have probably not been as polite as usual. read more

Many people arrive by boat as there is a convenient docking spot within steps of the hut. I sat at the rectangular bar, and my servers were friendly, courteous, and polite. I inquired to one of my servers if this place had previously been named differently. She stated the place I was referring to (a few lots away) had been completely destroyed by Hurricane Ian and had never reopened. (Sad face) Anyhow, I ordered a draft Coors Light and was pleasantly surprised that it was only $3.50 - which is pretty good considering most places are charging $6.00 nowadays. I did not order anything off the menu, but look forward to returning to try their food. If you enjoy a laid back, open air, on the water atmosphere then this is a place you should check out. Beautiful area. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. The servers were attentive and really felt welcoming. They are dog friendly. They brought out bowls with ice water for my dog right when I sat down. Pull your boat up if you like. They have outdoor seating right on the water/canal. Had the Nacho's and the fish tacos. We were visiting the area and took a drive to Pine Island. We are traveling with a small dog and were looking for a fun looking place to stop for lunch that would allow our pooch to be with us. We had a late lunch here. The food is on the ordinary side. It's a nice looking place. They only serve beer and wine so forget about having a good cocktail. The staff are really nice and accommodating. It does have an old Florida feel to it. But it's on a canal so you get to see you and hear a lot of boats motoring and smell the fumes. I'm so glad that this bar was open during Covid. We had never been to the area but I'm very happy that we ended up stumbling in here. We were there at night for dinner and drinks and live music. The live music was awesome and he was really interacting with the crowd which is super great. My fiancé and I both got the coconut shrimp with french fries and a couple of beers. Really good bar food and very fair price. I highly recommend going here for just a relaxing good time and to get away from the normal craziness of life. Had a fun 'sunset' experience here recently..the place was probably700 yards from our motel. We noticed there was no front entrance so we walked around the back and Lo and Behold! A Tiki Bar overlooking one of many St, James City's canals. The only thing missing was Jimmy Buffet! The waitress was quite cool and suggested a few things from the menu. we both had the fish sandwich with slaw on the side and an order of fries..pretty filling. There were only a handful of other people there and soon it was just me and my friend, the waitress and the owner.
