Loving Celebrations is a recommended vendor for The Old Sugar Mill. I happened to attend an event there and got a copy of their wedding info. Lori and Bob were wonderful. We sat down with them for quite a long time and had a hard time deciding which to ask to officiate our wedding. In the end we went with Bob. Bob created an amazing ceremony for us; full of humor and personal touches. We couldn't be happier. At our reception we had numerous guests come up to us and tell us how much they loved our ceremony. How often does someone's ceremony get a compliment? I've never heard one before. We received a printed keepsake booklet of our ceremony/vows, and Bob turned our marriage license in ASAP. We are so thankful to have found him. I would highly recommend Bob to anyone looking for a personalized ceremony. read more

We interviewed a couple of officiants for our wedding with Bob and Lori being the last interview. We immediately booked Bob. Nothing against Lori it was just that Bob had the laughter and light moments we sought to insert into our ceremony. They were not in any way cheesy. Our guests complimented us on Bob and they actually thought he was a friend of the family since he just fit right in and knew so much about us. We literally could not have been married without him. I found Lori through a wedding website and per the reviews decided to contact her and eventually selected her for my officiant in September. Her prices seemed fare and she seemed to know ALOT about what she was doing. She told me to let her know when I had put the deposit in the mail and she would send me the ceremony information and examples to look at. Well to start things off, I let her know that I had put the deposit in the mail and was looking foward to hearing back...5 days passed, no word. So I followed up again, still no word for 2 days, then she got back to me and said she had received the deposit and didn't acknowledge her lack on response to my first email. So I let this one go, printed out the ceremony samples and just hoped it was nothing. Well 2 weeks ago I emailed Lori again just asking when I should plan to get information to her as my fiance was still working on reading through the documents. I didn't want her to have to wait on me for the information so I just wanted a basic "brides usually get it to me by _____ months before the wedding" as I have never done this before, I mean you usually only get married once ;) Well I didn't hear back for a week! I was astonished that I had paid a vendor to help me and she hadn't gotten back to me, so I waited a couple more days, hoping maybe she's on vacation or something...? Still NOTHING..so I emailed her letting her know that her lack of responsivness was really starting worry me. She finally got back to me and blamed it on that she had seen my email, but her other computer was down and her husband had taken the comp away from her so she was unable to get back to me...this was very uncomforting and made me question her because if she had seen my email and hadn't gotten back to me by then, when WAS she going to get back to me?? If I hadn't emailed her would I STILL be waiting? This just wasn't ok with me and I decided to cut her services. If I am going to be paying someone to help me I expect them to be there to answer questions. Once I sent her the email that I was canceling services (which all of a sudden she was able to email me back within an hour?) she blamed it on her "casualness" to the situation and didn't realize it was causing anxiety in "my world." To me this is an excuse that she had forgotten and/or got lazy about my email. Also I had to put down a $50 deposit, and she didn't even offer to give this back to me, seeing how this was due to her "casualness" I would think she'd own up to her mistake and offer the money back because I am NOT the one who ruined the services and would have been more than happy to use her, but her dedication to my wedding is what made me cancel and she made 50 bucks off me, not very professional. I have found an AWESOME new officiant who is in touch with me within 2 buisness days of my emails and I am happy I have a new person to guide me through my wedding, not to mention his prices were 115 less than Lori's services. I hope this is able to help someone else save $50 bucks because this was unfare and not a way a paying client should be treated. read more

Lori Levisen from Loving Celebrations officiated my daughter's wedding at Grand Island Mansion and did a lovely job. Lori is very thoughtful, fun and soft spoken. She did beautifully at the wedding. Her voice is pleasantly soothing, and her personality and gestures keep guests interested. Lori went out of her way to meet us at a remote location ahead of the wedding to go over numerous ceremony samples which was a huge help to my daughter and we both really appreciated it. Lori was always available for questions and extremely helpful in preparing the ceremony. Lori came to the rehearsal and was more than happy to go over things several times until everyone felt at ease. On the day of the wedding, Lori found us getting ready in the suite and made sure that all the details were in place and that my daughter was comfortable and didn't have any unanswered final moment questions. We even requested some last minute running around for her to help us with a task that had nothing to do with her role and she was more than happy to help. Lori is very cheerful and we instantly felt comfortable with her style. I highly recommend Lori, she performed wonderfully. It was perfect! read more

I wish I would have taken the advice of the other reviewer of Lori's services and cancelled before the wedding, but that wasn't what happened. My fiance and I hired Lori after an awesome first meeting and after meeting several other officiants that we just didn't seem to click well with. Initially we were excited about Lori and we thought that she was very well spoken, had a good presentation of how she works and what her style is and we also liked her reasonable prices. After spending a LOT of time crafting our own ceremony (using the numerous samples she provided) and centering the WHOLE THING around the personal vows that we wrote to each other, I made the mistake of trusting Lori to provide me with a printed copy of my vows to my husband during the ceremony (rather than bringing my own copy). She assured me, right before the cermony (literally 10 minutes before it all began) that she had my vows printed and ready to go, so that I didn't need to bring my copy down; however, when she handed them over for me to read in the middle of the ceremony, they were mis-printed. I read the first half on the first page with no problems and then the next page was an excerpt from my husbands vows, not my own. She basically mis printed everything and didn't have the rest of my vows available so, while I started to sob uncontrolably in the middle of the ceremony (because the whole point of the ceremony had been messed up), she was unable to help me recover and I had to "make up" something on the spot to finsih out what I started. It was the WORST feeling in the world. I spent so much time crafting my vows and was soo excited to read them to husband in what I thought would be one of the most memorable moments of my life, yet Lori managed to ruin all of that with one careless rookie mistake of not looking over what she printed to make sure it was correct. The job we hired her to do was simple - yet, she managed to severely mess it up. I can't even tell you how much I cried over this (after the wedding of course, I didn't want it to completly ruin my night!) and my feelings about my wedding ceremony are clouded by embarasment and dissapointment over my vows, which I NEVER expected to happen! After all was said and done, my husband had a long talk with her to let her know our disappointment in how everything went down and she told him that she would send us a "little something" in the mail to apologize. We assumed she would send us a small refund for at least part of the money paid, but no, all we got was a note trying to "lighten up" the situation with some optomistic words (no refund!). All in all, I think that Lori is a nice person, but she is a little too scatter-brained, disorganized and definintely not detail-oriented enough to remember to double check her work and be a good wedding officiant. If considering her for your event, I wouldn't recommend that she be trusted with this large responsibility - Keep looking so hopefully you don't have to experience what I went through. UPDATE: I just wanted to let everyone know that after posting this review, Lori immediately sent my husband and I a refund for her services, along with a very kind note to further apologize. We are all human and we make mistakes, but I am glad that Lori (in the end) actually ended up doing the right thing by sending the refund, which was about the only thing that could be done to help correct the situation. Per the notes that she sent us, I understand that she beat herself up a lot over this situation, so I am fairly confident that she won't make the same mistake again. read more
