Truck stops are kind of cool as they provide truckers a place to gas up, eat, shower, and park the rig and sleep. For more casual travelers like me, it means competitive fuel prices, a sizable mini-mart, added chain restaurants (in this case McDonalds and Chester's), and some cool trucker-related supplies. After all this, I left with only coffee, a donut, friendly service, and an easy return to I-80. Fuel for the rental car would have to wait until I was closer to DSM, and the caffeine did keep me going on this long day. read more

Another garbage lives where half the pumps don't work, all the food looks like it been sitting around 4 days, and not a single Employee to be found that can be bothered to help a customer..... loves as a whole should just be shut down they are constantly the worst gas stations I ever have to stop at.... As usual, we appreciate Love's for their dog parks and clean restrooms, but do NOT stop at this location unless you enjoy being accosted by beggars everywhere you go. These people are in the parking lot and the DOORWAY of the store blocking entrance. We encountered five different ones just trying to walk across the parking lot and into the store. They either wanted money, gas, food or all of the above. I cannot believe Love's cannot do anything about this. I mentioned it to the very busy employee and he just shrugged and said that they are always there. read more

Hardly a truck stop if you have multiple pumps out of order and "out of order" showers. An out of order shower sign on the door but walking in to use the restroom at 2am and passed a couple with a shower basket, shower slippers and wet hair. Walked back to the shower rooms and shower #2 door was propped open, pushed it open and the wet floor and used towels indicated that they were in fact not out of order. Unsure if it was open to only a select few or the staff was just too lazy to clean. If you have to reset, find an actual truck stop. read more

Our car was broken down and we waited in here for about 8 hours while it was being fixed. The employees are very kind and capable. They didn't say anything about us being there for that long. If your car is broken down, this place is nice to hang out in. read more

This gas station has good prices on gas and diesel. Just happen to go over a cone and was stuck on the tire told the guy that I apologize for running it over but his words to customers is you dumb ass you ran over my cone and just gave me this look. I wonder if this how we should get a response but for making a mistake. read more

This loves location us pretty decent right off interstate 80, they have a McDonald's and Chester's chicken inside, the showers and restrooms are definitely clean, truck parking is very limited especially in the evening hours. read more

On our travel we stopped here for gas, restroom, and early lunch. This place clearly has staff that cares to keep things very clean and organized. There is a good variety of coffees for my sister (I have never had coffee in my life). The food (and I am very picky if I didn't make it) was all fresh. Love that fruit and hard boiled egg choices. The floor mats are new and very clear. Even all the creamer pods are upright and sorted. That is care and makes this location even more inviting. read more

This is a Nother wonderful location in Love's convenience store/gas station chain. We were readily greeted by an attendant as we entered the convenient store. She seemed very cheerful! Despite how busy this location is, The merchandise in the shelving were very neatly organized. The bathrooms were immaculate! The gas prices are nothing like California; what more could we ask for?! The only reason I give this location four stars is because the only "food" available is McDonald's. If there's anyone from Love's corporate reading, please negotiate a deal with native foods or some place that serves real nutritious food! read more

They have fantastic chicken at Chester's! I've eaten here 3 times now and the chicken has always been delicious! The Mac and cheese is delicious creamy and cheesy, and the green beans have lots of bacon (or pork belly?) in them. So savory I even drank the delicious broth which was porky, and had lots of pepper. read more

I use Loves on a daily routine & prefer Loves over other truck stops is ok . , but the shower line was long I was 5 in line at 2pm with tight schedules & the clock keeps running on are logbook this really cut into my time . If I'd known the line would have been too long I would not have stopped & I'm sitting here with time too wright a review I hope Loves really works on the extra long shower wait time read more

Its a big truck stop with a convenience store and includes McDonald's and Chester's chicken (instead of Subway Sandwiches at other Love's). The convenience store had a lot of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), t-shirts, magnets, other touristy stuff, car stuff, food (both hot and cold). Staff here was nice and service was quick. I can't say prices were cheap though because I paid almost $1.50 for a soda. In Iowa I would have thought things would be cheaper! If you are a Megabus rider, this is the only stop on the route from Chicago to Omaha. read more

This truck stop is your standard find. Gas is affordable, which leads me to stop here when I have a chance. Inside is the convenience store far, a Chester's chicken shop, and McDonalds. You can easily walk between all three. The restrooms inside were clean when I used them. There are plenty of food options inside too if you are just looking for snacks. One my first visit, it was crazy busy with cars and people streaming in and out, but 3 days later, I stopped around the same time and it was much calmer. read more

Love's usually has the cleanest truck stop / gas station bathroom for travelers. They also usually have the lowest gas prices. Decent layout with a Chester Fried Chicken and McDonalds if you're hungry. Though, I would rather eat something else. Did a review for Chester's and gave it 2 stars for their chicken tenders. read more

It's not a bad place to stop by and get coffee, and fill up. Maybe some breakfast. But it's rather unpleasant walking around inside, as I find that the main female cashier is constantly circulating the store, and I notice her out of the corner of my eye staring at the customers as if though all of us are going to steal something. i stopped in for a snack and tea only to have the cashier annoyingly sigh and comment that 6 pennies were too many to use out of the penny bowl that was full of at least 30-40 pennies. I said that's fine I'll break a dollar only to have him say no just take them. I put change in those bowls every time I get pennies and felt rather insulted over the cashiers rude comments and bad attitude.
