I always stop here on my trips from Chicago to central Illinois. The staff is super nice and welcoming. Store and bathrooms are very clean and well kept up. They have a great selection of snacks that have been prepared by Love's - strawberry parfait is my usual go to. They also usually have a buy 2 sodas or waters for a lower price than buying just 1. I checked out with Trevor. He was so nice and really helpful. I wish I could bottle up his kindness and distribute it across all stores and gas stations! Stopped at this Loves as they have the dog park! So convenient and the fence is very sturdy, waste bags provided & picnic tables make for a nice break. The gates don't seem to secure super well, and only one end has double gate so we just stationed one of our people on each end. I hope to see more travel stops do dog parks! read more

As an OTR driver who visits many loves to not have a manager on site during the middle of the night is absolutely absurd. The hot water heater in the shower was having problems and $18 a shower. It's kind of ridiculous not to have a good quality shower and when the staff can't do anything for you except for Sago, I can only go to upper management. It's absolutely ridiculous so I'm leaving a bad review for this place because it's bullshit that people like us over the road have to deal with all of that all the time because loves is such a big corporation and they don't handle their shit. Along with none of the drink coolers are operational right now every drink in that cooler, including milky products is warm hot liquid right now somebody needs to improve this store badly stop lying on the reviews or places don't get fixed. When I need to stop somewhere on a long road trip, I typically go to Love's whenever I can for their large amount of parking, reasonable gas prices, clean store, and plenty of options for things I might want to buy. It's consistently well maintained no matter which location I visit and has really made the experience of stopping for a rest much more enjoyable. read more

Traveling to Pontiacto visit a friend and needed a little bit of gas to make it there. I stopped at this loves to put $5 in to make sure I didn't run out of gas and fill up in Pontiac since my friend said the gas was cheaper. After putting in $5.01 my gas gauge or mileage didn't move up at all. I know $5 isn't a lot but I should of gotten a little over a gallon. Not sure if the gas is dispensing correctly. Went to the shell across the street and put another $5 in and my gas went up enough. read more

Came here to pick up some munchies a couple days ago while I was heading back to Chicago. This place is full of the worst and most disrespectful truck drivers it seems and everyone is in line because the gas pumps are backed up. Store is expensive and overpriced. Bathrooms aren't bad staff is exceptional. read more

Dwight, IL I have bin to Love's all over the U.S. happily. Coffee, and gas, that's what I get here. They have an amazing Bourbon Pecan coffee. Wow ! It was so amazing ! It had a Smokey, nutty flavor. The way I discovered it was this older guy who was filling up his to go cup, that looked like three pots of coffee in size. He looked over, and said " Hey ! " " Have you tried this coffee? The Bourbon Pecan coffee " , I said " no " he said " you have to try it ! " I said , " ok ". Wow ! Amazing coffee ! I highly recommended this flavored coffee. read more

It was good while it lasted, then Thornton's opened across the expressway, hadn't been back since. This location caters first and foremost to their primary customer - truck drivers, everyone is for them is just gravy. The loyalty program ONLY works for diesel purchases, and the personalities at this place are ok, many come off as unhappy - it's just a J O B, and the customers break up the boredom. read more

Easy on and off interstate 55. Gas prices are always reasonable. Large variety of food and travel items to select from. Restrooms are always clean. Staff is helpful when asked. Love's are one of the better truck stops when you are traveling. read more

The parking lot wasn't plowed very well. Even the sidewalks by the doors were covered by ice and snow.

Came here with the hubby on the way to Missouri. Stopped for snacks and a shower. We were very satisfied. This location has very clean showers and is overall a good truck stop. The Hardee's is good also! read more

This travel stop is clean, but the day I stopped in, there was plenty of rif-raffy looking people inside. This huge oafish thug grunted at me to get out of his way, so he could load up on some much needed junk food for himself. There is a prison nearby, so I figure it must be visiting day at the big house. Next time I'll remember to avoid stopping here. read more

Tonight my boyfriend and I stopped here on the way from Chicago to Springfield, IL. After going in, we both got to the car and said...I'm about to write a yelp review...for a truck stop. We don't write yelp reviews. Not only were the bathrooms new and super clean, but the young guy working the counter was stellar! Seriously, this guy was the nicest, most genuine greeter and cashier you will find this side of I-80. Kudos to whoever hired this kid. Keep it up guy. This review is for you. read more

Come for the gas on your drive, stay for the Hardees!

A good stop about 1-1/2 hours out of Chicago. Especially northbound, it's an easy place to fill the tank and grab a quick bite if needed. The gas prices are pretty competitive and there's a Hardee's if you're in the mood for a burger made from real beef. I only gave three stars because, well, it's still a travel plaza/gas station. My General respect for Yelp prohibits me from scoring any higher for such an establishment unless I am thoroughly amazed by how much they exceeded my expectations. This is what you expect and the bathrooms seem to be kept clean. read more

This place was real nice as truck stops go and has a Hardees too. Good service and friendly people working there. If you have to be on the road it helps if the service people you run across are cheerful and/or friendly. It helps the travel day along. It had a lot more stuff (like most big truck stops do) than you'll probably need and that is good. It was clean and seemed busy. I needed gas but had enough to go a ways from Chicago area down I-55. I'm glad I waited and saved on a fillup. Gas price was 3.49/gal regular 87 octane. read more
