Beautiful, simple full hookup sites. Facility is extremely clean and there are private showers and laundry.

It is right off the interstate, is located near Polk City, and is open 24/7, providing essential amenities such as clean restrooms, vending machines, and Wi-Fi. The rest area seems to prioritize accessibility with handicap-friendly facilities, family restrooms, and nighttime security to ensure safety. Parking is plentiful, accommodating both cars and larger vehicles like RVs and trucks. This rest area is noted for its cleanliness and the calming atmosphere, making it suitable for more than just a pit stop. It is an excellent spot for relaxing, meditating, or taking a short break to recharge. The surrounding natural environment also offers opportunities for photography, with some visitors even spotting sandhill cranes and other local wildlife. For those exploring creative projects like filming or capturing scenic shots, the peaceful environment and well-kept surroundings are a bonus. Travelers have consistently rated this rest area highly for its upkeep and amenities, making it one of the better options along the I-4 corridor for a comfortable and safe stop. The rest rooms were some of the nicest ones that I have seen in any rest stop. Overall, it is a nice place to stop if you need a break on the drive.

I stopped in during an extremely busy time of the day but still managed to find a parking space within a reasonable distance from the front entrance. The interior was chaotic, it's seems everyone in Florida decided to have lunch here at the same time - well to say the least it was busy and a bit in disarray. I decided to headed to the Wendy's counter where I was met by Natasha and a big smile she took my order then my money and kept me company while my sandwiches were being prepared. After a little more than a few minutes my bounty arrived hot and fresh - my double cheeseburger was still hot and so delicious, this may have been the best Wendy's sandwich I've ever had bar none, even taking into consideration I was famished this Turkey Lake Service Plaza Wendy's Burger was just what I needed - I think Dave Thomas is probably looking down smiling and his infamous daughter Melinda Lou "Wendy" Thomas-Morse is still breaking the bank. I'd stop here again....

The Turkey Lake rest stop has both north and south bound entrances. It is named after nearby Turkey lake which contains Bill Frederick Park. Food options here include vending machines, Dunkin Donuts, KFC, Nathans, Nature's Table, Villa Pizza, and Wendy's. There is the typical Sunshine market where you can pick up your sundries. Of course there are restrooms which is why you likely stopped as well as a picnic area. You can stock up on your tourist brochures which every kid likes to do in anticipation of fun destinations on a road trip. There is also expensive gas to refuel your vehicle. Normally I prefer a turnpike rest area to the ones on I-95. The reason for my one star is they don't require masks even though there are recommendations to wear one on the door. How can you not require masks at a place that has people coming through from all parts of Florida? I would like to note that the workers inside are wearing masks. Every day the number of cases of Covid is rising in Florida as is the death rate. It was upsetting to see hardly anyone walking in with a mask. No thanks. I don't want to be standing next to other non mask wearing people in the tight confines of the bathroom. Shame on the transportation authorities for not requiring masks for people entering the building. The more open plans of the I-95 bathroom rest areas is a better bet right now. The only turkeys I saw here today were the selfish non mask wearing people. Let's get it together Florida because it is going to take all of us.

I had to use the bathroom so badly I was rushing and he started giving attitude at me for not wanting his hat. I came here to pee and if I was I would after using the bathroom. But now you made me feel so uncomfortable I stay far away. I ended up even giving a tip to maybe have him relax and be friendlier to people and it was taken in an angry way. Whoever is in charge here, this veteran has obviously mental issues and should not be in a public place like this.

Has 4 stalls (2 handicaps/ 2 regulars) and that's 2 on each side with their own doors. Not a clue on the ladies side but given that there were 4 urinating stations? My guess it has 6ish stalls. There's no paper towels just those machine that dry your hands from super wet to wet. Don't even know why even have em. They're is 24/7 security though. The gentleman did his rounds last night fairly. Smoking area is all over the place, just walk up to the planter looking cement structure n ride the nicotine dependency. I really wished they weren't right up front where kids walk right in front of them. Vending machines have a snack broker that will cut off a finger for you just incase $3 ice cream, $2.50 coffee, $175-2.50 candies and $2.75 soda is to much for you. Guys there's literally infinite amounts of gas stations down the road with better deals than this! Like you can buy a Whole large pizza for $7 at a 7/11!! If a guy stops n buys his 4 kids 2- 3 of each? Don't ya worry old chap! I will take your finger....... The snack broker will cough cough! Lol i'm obviously kidding about the snack broker. There is a huge sign stating that if someone offers extra services that they aren't part of the rest stop. So if there's a dude that washes your hands, combs your hair and even fixes your tie? Yep u just got serviced by one of the examples on that sign lol i had a situation like that a couple years back in a gay motel. It was hella funny. I praised the front desk for the excellent bathroom attendant n then he was like......!? What BRA? We don't have one! O_o There's also that whole situation that happened many years ago with that chick targeting lonely dudes. I was living in motels n in my car. My days to a year leaving the island. I had nowhere to call home. I had a job n i was content with "Car-ping" until someone told me about that lady killing dudes at rest stops!! Florida for ya! They make em super wild here! Lol my point is that please be careful. Like i said , place is cleaned and theres a security guard. My only beef is the tiny bathroom options n the food of the gods prices on the snacks. I wished that they offered tire pump services even if they charge for it. Also huge HUGE! Heads up! When u are rolling into this stop? Slow the hell down! The entrance is a freaking S n you will definitely crash into the lake if you go in fast! I had my scare last night. Not a fan of driving at night cuz my perception goes out the window. Kept power drifting on the 85 degree turns. Stay on the left the first tine and then the right for cars. Didn't even have time to see the signs, they are tiny!

Personally,…read moreI'm always happy when a rest area comes up when I need it or someone traveling with me needs it. No rest area is perfect. The cleaning and/or maintenance staff has a thankless job. As soon as the staff cleans it, or even while they are cleaning it, people just make a mess. Plus, no one can be there 24/7. People should really take better care and mind what they do...and be mindful of what they leave behind for staff "to do" because they didn't care, didn't pick up or clean up after themselves, were lazy, or just nasty. That said, sure...there were a few pieces of paper on the floor, and someone dropped a tissue, but it's not reason enough to call the place filthy. The important part is the facilities themselves were clean and stocked with toilet paper and soap. Isn't that what really matters? Moreover, the entry area was clean and tidy and the picnic area looked well-maintained. There is a family restroom located in front for your convenience if needed. The snack/vending area seems ample as well. Of course, there is plenty of parking, truck parking, and a pet relief area. If I have an issue with anything it is the quirky way you enter into this particular rest area...the road pattern is just strange. Please be advised, there aren't any tourist brochures at this location. This is basically a no-frills rest area and all business (if you know what I mean). At the end of the day, shouldn't we all be happy it's here? After all, sometimes nature calls when we least expect it!

The vending machines work. Litter is picked up. What is really concerning is that the surrounding area has been under construction for quite a while now. When you first pull in, you cannot park on the "safe" side away from the interstate, you have to drive all the way around and park on the side where everything is torn up. You have to be very careful because there are very few to no safety barriers up in some areas and in bad weather, you could end up in a very deep ditch.
