I have been a loyal customer at Modern Nails since they first opened. I brought my daughters there…read moreas teenagers, and now they are adults who still go, along with my granddaughter. Over the years, I've had good experiences with Cindy, Rose (I wish I knew where she is now), Jenny, and Tracy. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. After getting my brows done, Cindy asked if I wanted a mani/pedi. I couldn't that day but told her I was available the following morning. She told me to come between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. so Jenny could do my manicure before my flight. I arrived at 9:10 a.m. Despite being on time, my manicure was never honored. Cindy attempted to assign a nail tech I do not use, so I had to advocate for myself and request Tracy for my pedicure. While Tracy was doing my toes, Cindy asked how I wanted my nails, leading me to believe my manicure would begin as usual, since they typically do both services at the same time. Instead, other clients were taken ahead of me, and it became clear my appointment was not a priority. Tracy did an excellent job on my pedicure, but the situation was handled poorly. If there was no time to provide the manicure, the appointment should not have been made. When I addressed it, Cindy said she was busy and suggested I use another tech, but I have the right to choose who provides my service. After many years of loyalty, it became clear that some clients are valued more than others. Sadly, I will not be returning.

We picked this place as we originally would go to Caesar nails (westheimer and wilcrest) and it was…read moretoo far from us but wanted a place offering the same service. We looked at pictures and it seemed nice. We got 2 classic (24$ each) and 2 citrus paradise pedicures (53$each). After tip it was 174 (20$ tip). I was really put off because we called ahead to book. We arrive just in our 15 min time frame. The lady initially gave us 2 people each but then moved the person doing pedicure after she started because another customer walked in. The person said they had to pick up their child. So did we. We were late. Apparently beverages were complimentary but we weren't asked and not was there a menu. The ladies doing the actual work were nice but the management is horrible. They drinks sucked and their coffee was disgusting. They too busy trying to just grab money to actually invest in the customer experience. It was shit. If I just wanna go to a mani pedi with all the extras the places in other places do the same job for a cheaper price tag. If I'm paying money as a customer I wanna see what I'm paying for. I'm guessing people come there for set, etc. and so they're just so happy with getting their nails done that they don't pay attention to the experience but I'm someone who doesn't get polish on my nails so I actually care about the customer experience and I see what kind of quality they're offering. Don't go here. Find another place. It was severely underwhelming.

6.9/ 10 I recently visited Milano Nail Spa in Rosenberg for…read morea basic set. I ended up getting Gel X, which is $65, plus an extra $5 for a short almond shape and $15 for cat eye polish. Altogether it came out to right around $100. Overall, I do like my nails. They look nice and the cat eye polish is really pretty. That said, they are not something I would personally pay $100 for again strictly based on the nails themselves. Now let's talk about the service, because that is where they truly shine. The experience was amazing. They were bringing drinks back to back and the mimosas were wonderful. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I honestly left in such a good mood and had a great time. You are definitely paying for an experience here, and that part cannot be beat. As for the durability, my nails did start to lift after nine days. I had some lifting on two nails, and my sets usually last me a full month. I also noticed they did not feel as hard as my Gel X normally does. The tips felt like they had a little bend to them, which I am not used to. So are they the best nails I have ever had? No. But is the service top tier and worth going back for? Absolutely. If you are someone who values great service, good vibes, and a fun atmosphere, this is your spot.
