Delsis really loves what she does and truly cares for the kids and families she serves. The first floor of her home is set up entirely for the kids with a play room and two nap rooms, colorful pictures and learning material on the walls. It's a cozy and warm space for babies and kids. Delsis was very attentive and helpful during my daughters nursing period. She handled Brest milk and bottle feeding great. She even goes above and beyond and cleans the bottles for the parents at the end of each day! Her prices are very reasonable. She stays up to date on trainings and certifications. The family's first language is Spanish and I don't speak much Spanish. I've not had any trouble communicating with her; her assistants were available for translation if ever needed. As a household with two full time working parents, Delsis and crew have been such a blessing to us and our daughter. I highly recommend Baby Moises Family Day Care!! I believe she has openings in September 2016

Then one day, by chance, I met Yudith at a park. We talked, and she invited me to visit her daycare, which happened to be close to where we live. When we walked in, we couldn't believe how beautiful, clean, and organized everything was. And on top of that, she seemed so honest and kind. Today, a year later, we can confidently say that Yudith isn't just as wonderful as she appeared--she's truly an incredible woman. My daughter adores her like an aunt, and Yudith has taught her so much! This month, our daughter started Pre-K and is well ahead for her age, thanks to her time with Yudith. Yudith follows the Montessori method, encouraging freedom of expression, fun, and friendship, while also maintaining a solid routine and impeccable transparency. It's a small daycare with only a few children, so the attention is highly personalized. You always know how your child is doing, what they're learning, how they're living--whether it's how they sleep, eat, or play. If you love your children dearly and can enroll them in this daycare, do it! It's a gift that will last them a lifetime. Yudith has been a blessing not only for my daughter but for our entire family. She has so much experience, is transparent, kind, and responsible. I can't emphasize enough how important these qualities are. She's organized and dedicated--we couldn't have been luckier. Our daughter was in the best hands we could have ever imagined. Oh, and the daycare is bilingual! The price is very reasonable, and we don't have a single complaint.

If it weren't for that, we would have loved for him to stay here as long as possible. It's hard to put into words how incredible this place has been for our family. From the days when he could barely lift his head, to learning to walk, talk, sing, and share stories about his day, we've watched him grow into a happy, curious, and confident little boy--all thanks to the loving care and nurturing environment of Family Academy. He not only learned language and knowledge, but also good manners and a true love of learning. The teachers are absolutely amazing--kind, patient, and so easy to communicate with. My son is a slow and picky eater, yet they always gave him extra time and gentle encouragement. They care for each child as if they were their own. The administration team is just as wonderful; they know every child by name and engage with them warmly every single day. What makes Family Academy so special is not only the quality of education but the genuine love and attention they give to every child. The environment encourages exploration, creativity, and curiosity about everything in the world. I could see every day how happy my son was here.I am deeply grateful for everything the Family Academy has given to our son and to our family. This school is truly a treasure in the community, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any parent.

Under the center's care, my son truly blossomed. Well before we expected, he was singing songs to us, identifying letters, counting, and more. And most indicative of this center's awesomeness--my son was always so happy to go to school. It also meant a lot to me that the staff and teachers made genuine, impactful efforts to include our family's culture alongside mainstream culture, for example welcoming us to send in books about our holidays, directly engage the class in activities, and share ideas for the teachers to use. Would recommend Family Academy to anyone!!

I'm so grateful that I found Curious Mind childcare on Georgia Ave in Petworth. A parent at the…read moredaycare referred me there and it was a perfect fit for me and my baby. I looked at several places and decided on Curious Mind because it had the best of both worlds: the small scale and intimate setting of an at-home daycare where there is a lot of hands on care and affection for the children, as well as the clean and orderly facilities of a larger daycare center where you feel the kids are safe and watched over by well-qualified staff. I placed my child there at nearly 8 months and she began to thrive right away. By the third day, she put her arms out to be held by the owner "Nana". They have an easy app that shows me her meals, poops, naps, etc, plus photos of their activities, among other features. The owner is VERY good with the smallest babies. My infant was often sitting on her lap and taking a bottle when I popped by. The teachers are very affectionate. It says a lot that I have rarely seen a child cry unattended in the play rooms when I do drop off or pick up. The teachers are mostly Spanish speakers but between Nana and another teacher there is always someone who can communicate with you in English. Would highly recommend.

We visited numerous daycare centers in the neighborhood, and felt most comfortable with this one (especially the small size and high staff-to-child ratio). The staff are loving and kind and devoted to her and the other children. They send home adorable crafts that the kids make (mostly hand and foot print oriented given my little one's age!) and upload photos of them playing and at the park. The let you know when your kid is eating, sleeping, etc., through the app (which is comforting and makes it easy to pick up parenting after pick-up). The staff primarily speak Spanish though there is always someone who speaks English, and I'm excited for my daughter to grow with a second language. The center generally follows DCPS for holidays and is closed during the week between Christmas and New Years, as outlined in the parent handbook.
