I also complained directly to *my* local office which officially filed on my behalf, but I still have wanted to be sure to leave my thoughts with the supposed home-base-- I was a loyal customer for 15 years up until a few weeks ago; never had a problem. It took a legitimate accident to find out how completely, horridly inept and lacking in service Allstate is. Not only has their phone system been on the fritz, but the rare times I got a human, they didn't direct me to the specific departments I needed to take my damages/claim to. I wasted enough days waiting for unreturned voicemails that I just went to the offices where I now live....between being told that I needed to actually speak to the separate claims dept. & call the 538 number to cancel-which was futile-I ended up faxing my request and then finding out on my own that my account had in fact been canceled with no one calling to follow-up. Granted, one of the head customer service reps. did call to apologize even though I had no interest in calling back despite their sincerity, but at that point I was done talking to anyone else from this company. The last two things I did were respond to an email from another rep. whom filed my complaint, & give up on waiting for a call back from the claims dept. regarding a confusing DMV form I'd never been told about. AFTER they closed my claim, too. I thought I'd been dealt my personal share of shitty companies, but THIS takes the entire buffet and dessert bar, especially for someone who was with these people for over a decade and whom my parents are still with. I'm completely appalled, disgusted, bewildered-pick a word-by the sudden absence of any consistency for helping with an incident beyond a nose twitch. I told the person in my email I hope Allstate can learn from this. I'm amazed they're still in business. Icing on the cake: I gave my current address to each person I spoke with HOW many times?? I still keep getting stuff with the yellow address-forwarding sticker. Also a solid envelope w/ new residence stamped like an afterthought with my old place typed on the statement. Do you people even know how to get back to your own homes at the end of the day??? Pathetic. (clearly no client of yours has ever been in an accident, otherwise the Earth would split open and Hell would engulf us, because Allstate is EXEMPT from dealing with actual accidents. His "assistant" called me and told me that my coverage expired in 1 day and that I needed to find an insurance provider by then. They claim the sent me a letter 2 months ago notifying me, but I never saw a letter in my mail. There was no email or phone call either. This guy sucks! State Farm sucks!
