I don't frankly know any liquor stores that provide a phenomenal 5 star experience. And I question…read morewhether that's a matter of the generally tight margins of retail, or the fact that you know why you're there, and the people selling the alcohol know you're going to buy alcohol anyways and thus understand you don't need a great experience. For this reason I believe that 2 factors alone dictate the "quality" of a liquor store - price, and availability. And after much pontification I will say that cherryvale gives the best of both for the surrounding 6+ liquor stores in the area. Therefore, I by default have to give these guys 5 stars on principle. That's all

I just moved to the area and went to check out the stores that are around, well I had an awkward…read moreand uncomfortable experience at petite cellars. The behavior during my visit made me feel extremely uneasy. A young man working appeared to be intoxicated as he was slurring his speech while asking to help me, and the way he interacted with me was unprofessional and made me very uncomfortable as a customer. I came in expecting a normal, professional experience, but instead I felt awkward and unwelcome. Regardless of what was going on, customers should be able to shop without feeling uncomfortable or intimidated as he was pushy to sell me on stuff or get me to try something. I felt bad for the other associates at the store as they made eye contact with me with the look of I'm sorry and as I checked out I got the sense the employee at the register was embarrassed and disappointed as I would be too as this person who is obviously a manger and boss of sorts to the other employees. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this store and will not be returning, its worth the longer drive to avoid this place.

I loved this tucked away wine store. The two owners were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I…read morerarely leave there unhappy with my selection. It's not an expansive collection, but has wide representation. It's also convenient to NE Baltimore and has a secure feeling. But, the store was recently sold and I've gotten awful service since. Previously, I could find anything I needed and be happy with the price and vintage. Now, they read labels off to me and never seem sure about what it is they have or what I'm looking for. I think you're better off at some of the other stores in the Hampden area rather than this one.

When I got there the guys working there were awesome, we must have talked for about an hour about beer wine and music. I have since tried many of the owners suggestions. I even got one for my Mom for her birthday and it was amazing. I just moved to the area so I don't have to drive 30 min to stop by anymore and it's awesome. They also have a great beer selection too and the wine is cheaper than the other puppy-mill hipster wine stores around town.

So I was greeted by the sweetest customer service representative. He gave me a hardy welcome and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. So I told him I was looking for a wine that either was 7 yrs old or had a seven on it. Well he showed me a few some ranging from $30 and up. But I was hoping to stay on the low end but wanted something sweet. So he showed me another wine that had 7 in it's name. The location is nice and appears to have every spirit of choice, wine gifts, gift bags, or other beverages. He seem to have a good knowledge of his wines, when I asked about the mini bottle of wine. He asked if I wanted to sign up for the reward program (which I declined, but later regret). After my check-in, there was an option to use a 10% off coupon, which I will save for later.

My husband and I bought a bottle of Sancere (Vincent Ducet 2023) at the Wine Loft Pikesville. We…read moredrink Sancere all of the time. We purchased it in 2024. We stored it in our basement wine rack on it's side. We opened it last night (the cork was wet and intact) and were taken aback by how awful it tasted. At first we thought it was just very dry but the second sip was just so bad, we thought it might be rancid. We noticed sediment in the pour. We called the store today to let them know so they could test it out and check their inventory. We had the full bottle to bring in and show them. They told us it was old and that was why. The bottle was dated 2023, we purchased it in late 2024 and opened it in 2026. They refused to even look at it, let alone give us any credit for it. Will not be going there again. Will purchase our wine from The Wine Merchant where they treat customers with respect and kindness. Too bad, as we are within walking distance of the Wine Loft and they are not a friendle, neighborhood place like they want you to believe.

What's best though is they not only let me bring my dog in, but they spoil her rotten with treats.
