This is a true cafeteria dining experience, down to the plates. We got in line and grabbed our silverware wrapped in napkins. The plates had sections like my grammar school to high school trays. We made our choices, and as you can see by the pictures, I chose quite a bit. My food, the fried chicken, baked chicken, dressing, squash, peas, and bacon salad, was great. But the dessert, the peach cobbler, it was horrible. Now, I can say I would go back again and try a different dessert because, as I said before, the food is good. And, the place reminds me of my grammar to high school cafeteria, even down to the Christmas Tree. Plus, the staff is pleasant, and it's overall a really good place to relax and dine. read more

Having Saturday morning breakfast here has become a tradition for my best friend and I when I spend weekends at their place. The bacon and fat back is just about the best I've ever had I think and the breakfast casserole is a favorite as well. The ladies running this place are always very friendly and welcoming, I've never been for lunch or dinner but if it's half as good as the breakfast it's a win. read more

Louise's is a cafeteria style restaurant where you go through the line and pick out your food and put it on a school style tray yourself. It's home cooking style food , meat, vegetables, salads, dessert, bread and a drink. This place used to be a solid 3 and sometimes even a 4 for me but unfortunately it has gone downhill. The quality of the food has declined just about everything I had was pretty inedible and probably was from a can. They have a giant room with a lot of tables to choose from but unfortunately there didn't seem to be any staff removing the old trays and cleaning tables which made seat availability very limited. On top of that there are several tables with hand printed signs not to sit there due to various issues. Skip it. read more

It's alright. I stopped into this spot for a lunch one Friday afternoon after clinic and tried to see what the hype from so many of the locals was about. Apparently, Louise's is a popular spot with many Griffin locals and I was about to relocate away from the area after three years and had to get a taste. It's cafeteria-style, where you get a tray and serve yourself of various food options. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, a couple of the deviled eggs, mac and cheese, and some black eyed pies. The best thing on the plate were the mashed potatoes and the peas. The meatloaf was aight. The deviled eggs tasted store-bought--flavorless. The mac and cheese was not good so I ended up just leaving it on the plate. Again, if you're hungry and want a variety of different options, they are cool. They're mostly mediocre at best, but I hear going on Sunday after church may better. read more

I've been to Louise's restaurant many times and the macaroni cheese is always soupy. The pole beans are usually salty. Most of the vegetables are soaked in there juices and when serving yourself, the utensils have no openings to release the liquids. At checkout, I have to pour the liquid juices in the trash can next to register. I Love the corn muffins but at opening hour they aren't ready to serve sometimes. This cafeteria used to be our go to place for country style cooking with reasonable prices. Not any longer pricing by weight has made it ridiculously over priced. Tables not being cleaned off salt & pepper shakers not filled etc etc. We will not be going their any longer!!! read more

First visit will be LAST visit for us. Walk in and there's a long buffet typical of all you can eat restaurants. Looks pretty yummy. No signs saying it's NOT all you can eat. It is mysteriously priced "per scoop" with no per item prices posted which you learn at the register. Wanted to try a tablespoon of slaw to see if you like it? Yep. Charged full side price. Same for meats. No divided plates and some small bowls but you get a large platter so how much of a "scoop" should you get? Who knows? No sign about which color plastic cup to get for water or other drinks. Then the shocker. $$$$ Lunch for two with very little on one plate was $29.25!!!! Next shocker was EVERY SINGLE TABLE in large main room had dirty dishes or unwiped tables. Next little area behind a half wall had half of them dirty with plates. And junk piled up by wall next to our table. No clue if it had been sanitized. There was no staff on the dining floor. The food was average. My Dad asked after eating about the way they price. He thought they must have overcharged him. Typically an all you can eat restaurant in the area charges around $11 or less including your drinks at lunchtime. They weren't rude but you could tell they get that complaint a lot. We're going back to a different less expensive place with better food and no confusion. read more

Made two trips. The 1st time was mid week and the food was ok. Nothing great... just ok. None of the food was hot just bearly warm. Next trip Fridsy evening... nothing that should have been hot/ warm... wasnt even close. It was all room temperature. Nothing had any flavor. They kept pushing the fish as Cat Fish. I'm 150% sure it was Whitting. They had what was pose to be corn bread dressing but it had no flavor and nothing to go with it. No gravy, no turkey, no chicken. Delicious, simple, home cooking for a great price. I really enjoy this place, especially if you're eating with a group because there's something for everyone. The food does get kind of cold but it didn't change anything for me. I still really enjoy the food and the atmosphere here. read more

Was working in Griffin and went there on the advice of a local for a good southern breakfast as I haven't lived in the deep south for a while and missed that good southern cooking. I had high hopes for the place as it's a dive and the prices were right, but I hate to say I was disappointed. Grits were good but it's hard to mess that up (although lots of the restaurants around here up here in the midwest sure can), everything else was really greasy, and trust me, if it's greasy by my standards it's pretty much dripping! I've read elsewhere some reviewers were saying it's been bought out recently and it's not owned by the original owners. Maybe I caught it on a bad day, I don't know. All I know is I was hoping for better. Don't know how lunch or supper is, but if you can screw up a southern breakfast, I don't know.... read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the people were so friendly and nice. I had the best chicken n dressing with giblet gravy. The green beans, broccoli and cheese with some collard greens was great. The food tasted fresh and hot. I had lemonade to drink and it was off the chain, it was sweet like I like. I would highly recommend Louise's cafeteria to anyone especially if you like good southern food. My family enjoyed picking out there own food that they liked. I saw lots of families there laughing and cutting up with one another. Even the staff was laughing with the other customers and they were calling them by name. It's great they get to know the customers and there families. I think it's important to tell people how you feel about something when you enjoy it enough to share. If there was a -5, that's what i would rate it. Stopped there yesterday, couldn't even eat there. Walked in to the place where you get your test, glanced down the food line and froze, then turned and left. Food was all over the rails where you push your tray down, spilled on the floor, along the edges of the pans, etc. It looked like kindergartners had a good fight. I am not a germaphobe, but I do refuse to eat anything that comes from those conditions! read more
