The director and the teachers are so engaged with the kids and its an incredibly warm and welcoming community. We originally visited the school when it was located in Cushing Square. The space was fun and interactive but the new space has really allowed the school to grow in both capacity and programming. It's bright and sunny with plenty of room for more creative play and planned activities. It has an adjacent playground as well as a nearby park for more lengthy outdoor activities. The school provides several special activities which our son loves. Habitat, the Mass Audubon education center, regularly visits his class and provides hands-on exposure to the local fauna. They are also regularly visited by Hugh Hanley, a local musician who leads an hour of song and story telling. These are particularly fun days to be a parent helper in the classroom. Since this was our first foray into school for our son, we are very glad we chose a coop program. It allows us to see our son in his school environment and better understand his development and how we can help shape his growth both at school and home. We also get to know and work with other parents and families in the area. The teachers provide regular feedback which is encouraging and helpful. We particularly love the director who is constantly in the rooms with each group of kids and consistently checks in with us. I would highly recommend this school to anyone but would strongly urge families to look into the program sooner rather than later as the school regularly has a wait list.

Everyone on the teaching staff is extremely committed, detail-oriented, and caring. They are working really hard to create a fun, engaging environment, and to make sure that every child is included and enjoying the experience. The classroom is organized thoughtfully, with an impressive range of activities always available to the children plus daily curriculum plans that include developmentally appropriate and seasonal enrichment activities, and also the year's enrichment activities from outside visitors included theater, music, yoga, and art. There is always so much going on at this school, and yet it manages to feel comfortable and homelike for the kids. We have also really appreciated the co-op aspect of it, since we recently moved to the area from out-of-state. The school has a wonderful mix of families and they have all been very welcoming. This school feels like a close-knit family with teaching geniuses at the helm. I love it, the kids love it, and I can't believe we were lucky enough to find it.

Before we started i was asked what i hoped to gain told them my child was potty training i would love for it if they continued; then i noticed on her reports she had more wet diapers than potty tries. I inquired about this they said i was layering too much! reduce the layers and now she only wore sweatpants still the same, they said the pull up i provided were not the right ones and i need to use the ones that they used. My husband got the ones that they wanted but still the wet diapers were more. when i inquired how frequent she was put on the potty i get a call telling me that my daughter is acting different crying all day and they have kids to attend too since she is not the only one. My baby was 26 months and could not be comforted when she was in distress as if they are providing me free services or they do not know the number of kids in the class. In the morning when i went to drop her off the teacher at the door completely ignored us another teacher had to come to great us. if possible i would give them 0 stars. When i went to pick my child's belonging they didn't even bother to inquiry how she was doing. Just passing by the school gives her truama so much so that she know our entire route to home she will call out the ice cream place her doctor's office mere shopping but pretend when we get to that school

We moved our 18 month-old here after leaving Knowledge Beginnings in Maynard after they lost him one day on the playground. He then went to another daycare for a transition period but that was shutdown due to a (very expensive) typhoid outbreak. So my son enrolled in NGCC after being at a series of schools with compliance violations from losing kids to unvaccinated staff. As an obsessive researcher of all things, I'm pleased to note that NGCC's state compliance records are gorgeous, suitable for framing. We enrolled our LO in NGCC blindly after a recommendation from another parent who left KinderCare and enrolled their LO at NGCC with great results. We loved the data and information that NGCC shared with us about development and preparation for Kindergarten. (As a mildly obsessive PhD, I love all the data and learning opportunities!) It made us feel confident that we were making a good choice for LO and that he would thrive there. I can say that after about a month at NGCC, LO loves it. I love that it's like a proper school setting with a professional front desk, excellent security, it's set back from the road, leadership is accessible, and staff seem content and loyalty is strong. The cost of care is very reasonable and I feel like I should be paying more for the services we receive as part of tuition! The facilities are wonderful, too. I feel great arriving at 4.55 or 5.00 on the dot to find a parking lot and lobby full of other working parents which was utterly absent from the KinderCare and the transitional school. There's an unspoken camaraderie among working parents which is reassuring. They give him lunch every day which has helped us expand his palate and nutritional options and also given us back some time in the evening as a family. Overall, he's sleeping better, no more mysterious bumps and bruises, if he gets a bump, someone calls me immediately, and he's just overall a happier little guy. They're so hands-on and very in-tune with child development. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend NGCC to anyone and it's not surprising there's a high demand for placement there!

We sent our child here for 2 years and were thoroughly disappointed. It's a $40k year public school. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons: Pros: -slightly more advance curriculum than an ordinary public school but in-line with any other private school Cons: -embarrassingly underfunded, they ask you to bring your own supplies (including disinfecting wipes) at the beginning of the year -location, it's in Foxboro which only makes sense if you live in Foxboro -staff completely lacks diversity -after care programs are a joke, the photography club involved almost exclusively drawing pictures -also, they accept anyone who applies. There are several smart kids at the school but anyone average will make the cut. -the Head of School, simply put, there is something wrong with this woman. I had a very bad experience with Soule and I had to withdraw my toddler daughter after 3 days. In…read moreshort, the problem is management and, perhaps, its culture. Before I explain what happened, I should note that Soule was the only school that did in-person tours in the peak of the pandemic in February whereas every single school/daycare was doing it remotely. I think that says something... After I enrolled my child, I was told that a week before the official start day, she will come in everyday for an hour with me accompanying her in the classroom. Third day of that transition week, I was told to wait outside as she seemed to be doing fine alone. I left briefly to go to Starbucks to pick up a cup of coffee. When I returned, I found her crying, and I was told that I should stick around because it is the transition period. At week 2, which is the official start week, on Monday I did stick around whole day, because that is what I assumed I was supposed to be doing. Nobody gave me any instructions or explained me any plan. At 10am, they took her out since she was crying asking me to take her home. That did not sound right to me, because she will never get used to the place if I take her home after each cry. So, I gave her some food and I let her go inside again. They had a tendency to say goodbye throughout the day, eager to send us home. I stayed and assisted her to nap there. I thought this was weird as I cannot spend my days like that sticking around whole day, so I asked them to come up with a plan. They said I should leave her in the morning and go home because when she knows that I am outside, she will try to go out and cry. I agreed. The plan was that I was going to leave her half a day for two days and on the third day we would try full day. This plan was reasonable to me, because she was not doing terribly bad at all: she loved the toys and the school, but she needed to learn to stay there without me. Btw, I should note that I did not even do sleep training with her since I am not ok letting her cry for long periods of time. But, our original plan was good, because she seemed to be doing fine. An hour later, the director calls me and says, they decided to switch her enrollment to half day for that month because it is too stressful for her. When I said let me think about it, she says, no, that is what we decided! So, they are making a decision by themselves without thinking about my personal circumstances. I am a single mom who needs to return to her full time job. This was very disturbing for me. I talked to some friends with kids. They all found this whole thing very strange. They all thought that it is their job to entertain/distract her so that she does not cry; they thought that it should not be up to them to make a decision unilaterally. I needed them to do their part so that she gets used to the place as soon as possible. "She cried, take her home" is not a solution. Plus, this created extreme anxiety for me as I could not rely on them to organize my life. I decided to try one-two more days. I found myself calling/texting them to see how she is doing. The second day, nobody even replied to my texts. Somebody should have explained me how the communication was going to work (e.g., they would check with me in mid day, or just reach out to me only if there is an issue). None of that. No explanation of the processes. I talked to the director and explained her all my thoughts. (Oh, btw, the director also said the center is getting rid of all the Covid rules which prompted her to resign.) She kept saying that I am right. But, I don't think that she cares, as she is leaving anyways. Where does the process break? I think the lead teacher has as much responsibility as the director in making sure that there is proper communication with the parent, educating the parent, and setting the expectations of the parent. After we made a plan together, what did she say to the director which made her call me and tell me that they are changing her enrollment without my consent? Plans, of course, can change. I was not going to torment my child if she was not adjusting well, but it should not be up to the school to make a decision without my consent. I am the customer. I eventually decided to cancel her enrollment (which the director offered me), because I could not trust what kind of uncertainty and unreliability was waiting for me in the future. I need reliable care. I do not recommend this place. The core of the problem perhaps is that they have a state institution mentality, which they are. They are employees of the city of Brookline. Private daycares care so much about customer satisfaction and their ratings; the directors seem to be hovering around to make sure that the place is functioning properly. I got the impression that the director of Soule was jaded. Not sure if the new one can change the culture because incentives most likely are there to stay.
