My choice was based on the fact that he had an excellent website, he was located blocks from work and home, and he also works with major players like the Miami Heat and Miami City Ballet. I am saving a star for this place once my pain is totally gone. Treatment varies for each individual, and unfortunately, I've need nearly two months of treatments -- but it IS getting better. He must be pretty good if I'm willing to continue to pay out of my own pocket (not covered by my insurance). Dr. Starkman listens attentively to my exhaustive descriptions of my pain. He is super earnest about finding the source of my issues and he genuinely cares. His philosophy is that the source of all problems is ultimately stress whether it be structural, emotional or nutritional source. His goal is to find the source of that stress and remove it using a plethora of techniques. What makes him particularly special is that he has many years of experience and education. He uses a broad array of techniques (and devices) and seems to be on the cutting edge of chiropractic techniques. For example, in lieu of an x-ray, your first visit includes several scans of your back using a laptop computer. I can't begin to explain the various techniques and how they work. For that, you can check out the website.

To my dismay, I was told that I would have a full treatment the first time and I had to pay a certain amount of money and that then it would just be a co-pay for my adjustments . Nice way to get you into the door !! I paid to be told that I needed x-rays and THERAPY is some electricity and heat in order to prepare the muscle for the adjustment. Allegedly. . Came back a second time and because I was not there, they told my son that he had to get a full treatment again and recommended weeks of treatment instead of adjustments . When I told him if we could do it otherwise because I did not have the money for that type of care, he said my insurance didn't cover anything else.. I paid $10 for a side to side stretch not even a full adjustment . I'm very disappointed and I feel it was a waste of my money going there. This place, probably just work with insurance insurance companies and they're trying to bulk it up by lying to people; not nice .
