The husband has always spoken to me in French. Even if the restaurant is empty when you walk in, it doesn't mean the restaurant doesn't have reservations for later. Restaurants in Nice usually just do one seating per table. I always get the Crab Salad and Bo Bun. The Crab in the salad is REAL and not imitation. The dressing is a refreshing lemon dressing. I've had Pho here as well. I'm a regular here. I'm Japanese American and the owners are NOT racist.

We said no and he said we cannot dine without reservations. He said somethings in French we didn't understand and he didn't translate. I don't know what his business practice is, but to turn away walk ins when your restaurant is completely empty in low season and probably will not have any guests come that night is ridiculous to me. I have read reviews that said he's racist and turns away Asian non French speaking customers. Cannot verify that but that would be so sad because he's Asian too. How much self hate does he have? I feel sorry for him. Either way if you're Asian and get turned away, or if you're non Asian and was allowed to eat here without reservations let me know. I'm curious why he has a restaurant like this!

In other words, it's a lot like Chinese restaurants in America but a little more "gourmet" and there's some overlap with other far east cuisines in the area. It's got western adaptations of chinese dishes predominantly with some Thai, Vietnamese, and Indian dishes among others in their daily lineup. There are like 30 dishes available and you can get them in two sizes of plastic containers. We got two orders of Riz thai (Thai Fried Rice) for 3 Euro each, an order of Indian fried rice for 3 Euro, an order of Poulet curry thai (Thai Chicken curry) for 5.40 Euro, and an order of Poulet General tao (General Tso's chicken or something similar) for 6.90 Euro. All the food was very tasty and filling. I was super hungry after our day trip that I was able to finish it all except an extra order of Thai Fried Rice which I saved for next day's lunch in Cannes. Definitely one of the best tasting places I've had during my trip.

This is a smallish family-run spot that seats about 20-25 people. It reminded me of Vietnamese restaurants in NYC, simple decor and slightly sticky floors. When I was there it was slower with a few tables before 6pm, and several more people arrived, also mostly tourists since this is a few blocks from the Nice train station. I say people bc there were mostly single diners when I was there, maybe a couple parties of two. Thankfully the nice young woman (I believe the daughter) who took my order was fairly proficient in English and communication was smooth. Service was very prompt. She brought out prawn chips at the beginning of the meal and I ate one piece, it was crispy and savory. I was a little surprised she took the rest back without asking before the pho was served. According to a certain other app and what I saw other patrons ordering, the most popular items seem to be the pho (rice noodles in soup with beef), bun bo hue (rice noodles in soup with beef and pig trotter), marmite fruit de mer (seafood and rice casserole) and nem (fried spring rolls). I got the Grand Pho €12 which was slightly larger--it did come with a lot of noodles--and a single extra beef ball compared to the regular pho. The broth was tasty, and there were two types of beef cuts, one a thicker than I usually expect but both tasted fresh and tender. Pho was served with fresh mint leaves and raw bean sprouts, pretty typical. The prices are very fair for the location. The restroom is located to the back of the restaurant on the right. I wish them success!
