Lotus Pod is a not-for-profit boutique* - which takes a little bit of the guilt out of buying cheap clothing. The Lotus shops are run by the same people who run Govindas (hippy cinema in Darlo) - not that you would be able to figure that out from looking at the products on sale.
The clothes are part-hipster, part-flowy, generally pretty cute stuff and very affordable. I buy stuff here and so does my mother, which tells you something about the selection. Sometimes the shop seems to be filled with oversized flowy mumu type shirt dress things, and other times I can't get enough of it, and it's exciting how cheap it all is.
The quality of the products is not amazing, so if you like quality design this is not the place to come. There is a huge table of (cheap) jewellery, with a lot of choice. Affordability seems to be one of their principles as a NFP, and they also run the label Alice Underground, which has funky, very wearable stuff.
*100% of the profits go to "Providing financial aid to support children living below the poverty line in India by providing education, health care and nutrition." I didn't know that. I had to look that up. read more
