I have favorite tacos in a few places and these are easily my favorite in AVL. Honestly. Everything about them is exactly perfect. I consider myself a bit of a "taco snob" so believe me when I say, these are the best tacos in AVL. Now I can only speak for the barbacoa because that's all I've had, but I've taken others and they've ordered different things, every one of them still talks about how good it was. My mom had the barbacoa torta- said it was better than she expected! She had never had one before but has since ordered them at other places, always compares to her first. My dad got a burrito, it was MASSIVE! He spoke very highly of it as well. Back to the tacos tho. Cause those are the real MVP in my book. Cant you tell by my excited facial expressions? When I say a pile of meat, they are not skimping. You could easily make 2 tacos from one, that's usually what I do. Their tortillas don't fall apart like other places so you can do that here! Toppings include onion and cilantro. Thats how traditional tacos are supposed to be! You don't need all that fancy stuff because it just takes away from the delicious, mouth watering meat. I drizzle some fresh lime and grilled onions. Top with their salsa verde. The red is a bit too spicy for me but you do you. I always order 4 tacos, which is really like 8. I have tried lots of tacos in asheville and this is by far the best traditional tacos around. I have had something of everything they offer. The Tortas are huge and very tasty. I like the beef one. The bread is the best, very authentic. Next time I get the Torta I will ask for no mayo. Last time it was a little too much for me. The tacos are legit. My favorite is the fish and chicken. I can eat 3 and be full. At $2.50 each they are a great deal too. Burritos and quesadillas are great too. Each order comes with fresh grilled jalapeños that are so delicious. I got the beef cheek burrito. The meat was cold and included a lot of pieces that were just straight fat chunks instead of meat. It didn't seem like any spices were used and it was very bland. Both meats were juicy and flavorful. The tortillas tasted homemade and were so yummy!! Produce was on point. Fresh avo, lettuce, and tomato. Grilled onions and Serrano pepper on the side. Just the right amount of heat, and a very reasonable price. If I had anything to pick apart I would say the quesadilla was meat heavy and easily could fall apart on you...but even that's a reach.
