Came here a few times so far. Very nice family. If you're in near dinner rush, expect really good service, if you're in on an off hour it can be hit or miss. Great authentic Mexican food with chips and salsa for the table. Salsa comes off a bit like marinara sauce but is otherwise fine. Portion sizes are good and food comes out very quick.

    Al pastor taco

My experience here was a bit of a mixed bag. The al pastor tacos are delicious! But other things weren't as excellent. So, I had a steak taco salad. The steak was good, but the shell was slightly undercooked in placed so it wasn't crispy throughout. Lettuce and beans were good though. The chips are excellent. But the salsa was a bit off. Best way I can describe it is it didn't have enough tomato flavor. Lot of onions, but that's not really a bad thing in my opinion. The al pastor tacos are awesome. I wish I'd just ordered several of those. The pork had a great flavor! I think it's a place where you have to know what to order. I should have asked the staff for recommendations.

FANTASTIC food and great people. This is the best Mexican food I've had outside of California, Arizona, and New Mexico. The sopes were amazing, crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Best horchata ever!! Do not pass this up.

The staff hear was very friendly and hospitable. Prices were ok for the shrimp and steak fajitas meal with free chips and salsa. Tortillas were hot and food tasted really good. We loved the large selection of bottled drinks for $2.50 each. The kids meal was $7.50 for 1/4 of a cheese quesadilla and fries...not the best deal.

Great Mexican food, very authentic and has great flavor. Prices are very good actually REALLY GOOD. They have a great selection of dishes. I had tacos I really like them. I just don't understand the declaration, they have a lot of stuff in the walls that doesn't match with the Mexican style. You should make your customer al feels they are in an authentic Mexican Restaurant. Just my opinion.

This was one of our pitstops while driving to Colorado from Minnesota. We decided to stop here to check out the great reviews. I wasn't expecting much but my expectations were definitely met. Mexican food in a little town in Nebraska? Los Jalapenos is a nice restaurant with pretty decent Mexican Food. The menu is extensive and price is very reasonable. The restaurant size is rather huge. We came during lunch and they served us tortilla and salsa. The salsa was okay, nothing special. It's free, so that's nice. My girlfriend and I ordered tacos and a torta to share. My carnitas tacos were solid. The pork tasted juicy and tender. It was solid. The carne asada torta was good as well. Not super good, but pretty decent. Service was good and price is good. I'd recommend stopping by here if you're craving some Mexican on the way through Nebraska. Surprisingly good.

This was a great suggestion. Thanks Yelpers! We are driving from Chicago to Denver and stopped here for lunch. Large restaurant with easy lunch crowd. State troopers eat here, so you know it's good! I had the beef taco salad and it was good, albeit a bit heavy on the lettuce. My daughters had a cheese quesadilla with rice and beans (she gives it 5 out of 5) and chicken nuggets with fries (fries were tasty and she did not like the nuggets, but she is a tween and does not really like much these days). Great help-yourself drink selection and seating! Worth the stop!

Had to eat in the car because we were traveling with our pooch. Carnitas and carne asada tacos. Excellent!

I have been to them all, several times in fact and I am here to tell you that none of them compare to Lo Mejor De Michoacan. None of them come close in fact. Do not let the outside fool you, do not let the tiny awkward parking lot fool you. It is what's inside that sets this small "Mom & Pop shop" apart. The first thing that I notice each time is how good it smells as soon as the door opens. It smells good, it smells like pork, and steak and fresh tortillas too. It is also very clean. It seems to me that this is a small family ran business, the same people greet me each time and are always super warm and welcoming. It is obvious they care and want to give you good service along with delicious food. I have taken my food to go and I have also sat down and I will say that there isn't any difference in the portion or the quality of the food. I have a hard time getting past the Carnitas each time I have been. The pork is tender and it tastes delicious consistently. The beans aren't from a can, I am willing to bet that the food here is all homemade. It tastes far too good to be from a can or a package. The tortillas are not warm, they are HOT when they get to your table, they taste so good. In my opinion they are the very best in town. The service is great too, the folks here keep the food coming and the drinks are always full, they are very polite and make your you want to come back again. If you are on the interstate looking for a place to eat, do yourself a favor, cruise into town go past the fast food and the other restaurants. It will be worth it. I can not wait to eat here again.

Teresa and her husband Santos, and their team, make fresh masa and tortillas that is freshly made, and delicious! You must buy their tamales! The tamales are absolutely delicious! Their masa is freshly made and perfectly seasoned, the meat filling is a combination of good quality meats cooked perfectly in an authentic Jalisco style homemade sauce, and then this bundle of deliciousness is wrapped perfectly like a present in the corn husk. I purchased 4 dozen tamales to eat in my hotel room, and to share with friends in Lexington. I told Mr. Marquez that they would have a line out the door if they had a store in San Francisco, wine country, or in my home town, Sacramento, CA.
