Used to really like this place but this recent experience has shown how down hills it's gotten. Ordered the trio and chips and they let us know way after we received guac and cheese, that they are out of salsa... our drinks (very flat soda) came after the chips (about 20 minutes into sitting and waiting). After an hour, finally got the 9 tacos shared between 2 people, and they were out of pretty much every meat except birria and chorizo (and again they didn't let us know beforehand) :/ they don't have the bottled Mexican cokes anymore so that really sucks. Last night, I was craving some tacos, so I decided to check out Los Homies Taqueria. This taco shop is located off 49th St N in Pinellas Park. I walked in for the first time and found them to be quite busy. The restaurant was nearly full. I was greeted and seated immediately. They brought over some chips and salsa. Salsa was better than expected. I knew I wanted some birria, so I ordered the quesabirria platter. The food came out in good time and looked great. These tacos were bigger than expected and quite filling. The beef was well seasoned and they were generous with the cheese. The consume had good flavor as well. It was a tasty meal. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to the taqueria. The food was good, service was quick & friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable. First time getting good from them was last night. The dining room area looked clean but can't speak to the service while dining there as we got it to go. I grew up in Los Angeles and was going to taquerias all through my childhood. I was having horchata before it became popular to use that instant powder stuff. I'm always keen to ask a new spot if their horchata is made in house. The young man let me know that it was, in fact, made in house along with all the other aguas frescas. Very dutifully I stuck a straw in the to go cup for a taste before I ever walked out. I have to say that it was, very unequivocally, the best horchata I have had in YEARS. That alone would make me drop by there any time I was close for a huge glass of it. It was that good. I had the pastor burrito. The ratio of rice to beans to pastor was decent. A touch more beans in the burrito might have been nice but that's a personal taste issue for me. The great thing about the pastor was the lack of grease. Pastor can be quite greasy and I find it annoying. My husband had the fajitas, which he loved. He raved about how good the refried beans were. The other top item for us was the salsas. The spicy one was quite spicy. The one that was lesser so was amazingly tasty. You could see fresh cilantro in it and the heat level was perfect for me. We're definitely going to be back. read more

The staff members were friendly & accommodating, both when I ordered and when I picked up the tamales. I appreciate how labor-intensive tamales are to make and I couldn't appreciate Los Homies and their hardworking staff more. I highly recommend. read more

So I've been here twice, I saw some friends post about it awhile ago and then it caught my eye driving past the unassuming strip mall by the sonic. I had the Chile relleno which was pretty good, but not my favorite and not filled with much cheese. And the enchilada lunch special which I actually really didn't enjoy at all unfortunately. The rice and beans are pretty basic.. nothing noteworthy but they serve complimentary chips and salsa and the salsa is very fresh, I mix a little of their green hot sauce in cause I'm spicy. The tacos are REALLY good here though, the tortillas are like a little thick and chewy..so good! The staff is attentive and nice and I like the vibes inside. They do have awesome lunch special prices and definitely worth checking out on Tuesdays with $1.50 tacos. read more

This place was better when it was in the food truck. Everything was at least always hot. The restaurant seems mismanaged and everyone not working together. The Birria is nasty when the young guy is cooking. It was much better when the spanish mother was cooking the food like how she was in the food truck. We were waiting tonight an extra 15-20 minutes for our order which is no problem but our tacos should have been hot and fresh instead of cold and soggy. I think running a full restaurant is too much for them and they need a stronger team working together and communicating. Food truck on 49th in Pinellas Park. Nex to the Sonic. My daughter and I tried the steak and the pork taco's. They were delicious! Meat seasoned nicely. Side of red (hot) sauce or green. Onions were grilled and on top, fresh cilantro. Lime on the side. 2.50 a taco. When I opened container I was disappointed at how small they looked. After eating them I was over it. The corn tortillas were hot, almost burned my fingers. Nah, not really. But hot. And plenty of meat. We will definitely be back there! They did not seem real busy. Everything is new although the booths have mismeasured tables and they look odd protruding out about 18 inches past the bench seats. I feel awful writing this because I've never left a bad review but unfortunately I went to eat there for the first time last night and it was just not good at all. When I got the food it didn't look appetizing at all but I was still excited to try it. Honestly I'm not sure if it was because we got there close to closing time or what because I see other reviews saying the food was good but all the food I got literally didn't taste like ANYTHING. My friend and I were so confused because we didn't understand how all that food that seemed to look well seasoned just had NO flavor.
