They'd been coming there for decades (she was a ski racer) and loved how the more recent owners had transformed the place. Their spontaneous and friendly approach perfectly captured the ambience. The interior of the place reminded me of cafés I would frequent in high school and college, except all the text and language being spoken was German, similar brown walls and menus with colored chalk.
