We ordered a queso for the table. The chips were generic but still alright, Queso was typical but tasty nonetheless. I ordered chicken quesadillas which were very good! I'd probably drive to Beaumont just for those alone! The service was friendly but I ordered water three times and never received it. It wasn't crowded yet the server did seem somewhat overwhelmed with the few larger tables she did have, so I didn't ask again. The atmosphere is that of a typical Mexican restaurant but does seem very clean from my perspective. I'd go again at least for a to-go order or lunch again as it wasn't overly crowded. We were there around 2 pm ish though so it may be busier during actual lunch hour.

They open at 6 AM which is perfect for plant workers and we went and grabbed four each of the sausage and egg and the sausage and bacon with the red and green sauce. The sauces could stand to be a tiny bit spicier (just a personal preference) but these things were HUMONGOUS! The eggs were fluffy, the bacon was crispy and they added shredded cheese when we asked. They paired so perfectly with the sauces. It was like the breakfast tacos we had from food trucks down in Laredo. We also ordered a 1/2 dozen each of pork and chicken tamales and wow. They were SO moist and delicious! They made for a wonderful lunch for my husband the next day and after sharing some with his co-workers, they stopped by and grabbed some too. They've got drinks and beers chillin' in the fridge and even serve barbacoa tacos on the weekends. This place is directly next to the Holiday Inn on Walden road and I'm SO glad it is. We will be back - all the freaking time!

Located in a strip mall just off of I-10 in Beaumont, Marisela's is one of several food businesses…read morein a massive lot that borders hotels and a Tesla charging station. (#1) Depending on the time of day, this might be one of the only businesses open. It is far and away the best option for food in this massive parking lot. The place is simple. There are a handful of small tables that can fit a dozen folks with a counter loaded with signs / menu items. I imagine a good number of their customers are hotel walk-ins or folks charging their EVs. Their bathroom is clean and is located in the back. As the biz name suggests, tamales are their specialty. They offer chicken, pork, beef, veggie, beans, cheese & jalapeño, and cream cheese & jalapeño. Having had all of them, I think the pork and chicken are the most filling options but cheese + cream cheese & jalapeño are the show stoppers. Prices are around $9 for a half dozen and $16 for a dozen. These aren't bad prices per se, but they're not considered cheap compared to other specialty places. They are also a breakfast taco destination. For just over $3 each, they each come with egg and chorizo, potatoes, bacon, or sausage. The chorizo and egg is my personal favorite and it goes really well with their salsa verde, which has a nice kick to it. I would also emphasize checking out their specials. They offer enchiladas, pork / beef guisado, enchiladas, burritos, and tostadas. Queso, elote, and guacamole are premium sides ($3-8) but the real time to enjoy is their weekend with menudo and barbacoa. While I can't confirm for sure, I have a feeling this is a family run business. Often times I hear a child in the kitchen or an older person (grandma?), while a young lady is often the one taking my order. They accept credit cards and now offer delivery. For anyone who finds themselves in this parking lot in Beaumont, Marisela's is definitely worth a visit. ___________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/tesla-supercharger-beaumont-beaumont

This place was a pleasant surprise and a breath of fresh air for downtown Broadway, in Winnie TX…read more.. most of the shops on this old Main Street have been closed for years so it's good to see it starting to blossom again...speaking of blossoms one can't help but notice the beautiful mandaville (sp.?) vines putting on a show in their festive painted Mexican pots as you approach the entrance and the very smooth Mexican cantina (that I wasn't expecting) as I entered but definitely made me feel like an Icy margarita or pina colada could be enjoyed there... you pass through it and on to the modest but well appointed dinning area with the kitchen behind it... now the food just tops it all off by being fresh, and what seems to be all hand made...the corn tortillas that wrapped my beef enchiladas where so fresh and moist that they made you want to eat the tortillas just by themselves... I have only once had corn tortillas that were like that... and the charro beans weren't overly seasoned but were soft and you could taste the bean itself... and the Spanish rice was the same way lightly seasoned but moist and you could taste the rice's flavor... the entire staff was bright, friendly and energetic and the food was served very promptly... I translated the name and it means "the casserole" in English and when I asked the waitress about the name she said it is also the name of an area in Mexico where they are from...I'm sure these girls will have a successful business... So keep up the good work I give them a big two thumbs up!
