The food and the drinks are simple, but good. The service and atmosphere remind me of sitting in my best friend's kitchen having a few drinks and some basic home snacks. I happened upon it while I was heating myself up the mountain to see the Pipila Monument. I was kicking myself for opting to bypass the ride up the Funicular, but now that I'm here at Bésame Cafe, I know I made the right decision! It's off the beaten path definitely, but as they say, I prefer the road less travelled. This one is definitely worth the journey. It's amazing view alone makes this spot magnificent. But then paired with a lovely owner, delicious food and drinks, this spot was truly a highlight to the city. I had a nice refreshing tequila, some delightfully brewed coffee, and simple quesadillas paired with a dish of homemade puerco that is tal off the bone, perfectly spiced, heavenly goodness.
