My grandparents' inheritance was left behind in an Israeli bank that had since been dissolved and…read moretaken over by a new bank. This was a very challenging matter, and Rahav assisted me. The fact that one of my grandparents died in Iran, with which Israel has no touch, more than 22 years ago only made matters worse. Rahav was able to expertly lead me through each stage of the procedure, from beginning to end, despite the case's complexity. He was incredibly responsive and professional, making sure I was informed of every step and that all of my queries were swiftly addressed. He was always willing to talk with me and clarify any murky aspects of the matter. Given the complexity of the situation, Rahav had to go through a lot of hoops during the entire procedure to meet the demands of the bank. Notwithstanding these difficulties, he maintained his composure, dedication, and commitment to making sure that my matter was settled as swiftly and effectively as feasible. I appreciate everything!

Rahav is not professional! He blamed and yelled at me after causing long delays in my probate case…read moredue to his own mistakes in entering people's ID numbers on forms and said an apostille was not needed where it was in fact required to proceed with my probate case. He had me sign documents that had other clients' names on them, instructing me to change them to my own name, which I believe breaches clients' confidentiality. He tried and failed to charge me an extra $5K for helping to transfer my deceased mother's bank funds to me, a fee which was never part of our signed agreement. He withheld wages from his own courier for $5K for services rendered because Rahav falsely claimed he was entitled to a referral fee for providing the courier with the work for me in handling my mother's possessions, for which I paid the courier directly. Rahav also ordered me to send him signed documents urgently via FedEx for $38 when a simple USPS mailing would have cost $1 and arrived in a timely manner. After I fired Rahav, he tried and failed to sue me for the money we agreed I would pay him IF HE sold my mother's apartment, which he never sold at all. He even tried to put a lien on the property, and refused to return my mother's financial documents that I let him borrow for property research purposes, while still demanding money he didn't earn from me. I had to hire another attorney to sell the apartment and countersue Rahav for negligence. He frivolously dragged this petty lawsuit out for two more years, lied to our judge about the mistakes he made, presented sloppily compiled "evidence" that clearly failed to support his case, and we both wasted time and lost money over his futile attempts against me in the end. His litigation and communication skills are subpar and didn't match his polished website, which is misleading. He also sues and/or gets sued by many of his other clients whose cases he handles, according to his colleagues. DO NOT HIRE RAHAV AHARONI! Edit: Hours after this review was posted, Rahav threatened me with another unwinnable lawsuit, this time for "slander," which he should know is the incorrect legal term in this case. Attached are the most recent emails between us as evidence of both lawsuit threats, plus newer messages harassing my family member in Israel with more lawsuit threats and an attempted bribe that Yelp confirms violates their Terms of Service. Rahav has retained a less experienced lawyer to formally warn me with a defamation suit over this review. They're pretending not to believe I possess all the text and email evidence and court records plus witnesses to prove the veracity of every detail written here. In the public interest, I will keep this post updated as the story develops.

I hired Ms Goldberg to represent me against a former employer. She dropped me in the middle of the…read morecase! Astonishingly unprofessional as it left me hanging, but it turns out she did me a favor. From the start, she did seem to want to encourage the employer (a very large bank) to settle, and eventually the employer said no, we will not settle this, take us to court. At this point, Ms Goldberg became suddenly unresponsive, when I tried to get her on the phone, she told me "we have nothing to talk about" and said the only thing she can do now is to start filing legal motions and that if I want to do that, I have to sign a new agreement and give her a huge pile of money. When I questioned this all, she threw a hissy fit and told me to "find another lawyer." Instead, I approached the former employer myself, presented the situation the way it should have been presented in the first place, and surprise surprise! The former employer settled. Not for as much as I had hoped, but still a substantial amount. Too bad Ms Goldberg dropped me: She would have received a portion of that settlement. Instead, I got it all. So, I guess if you are considering hiring Ms Goldberg, I would suggest you follow the last bit of advice she gave to me: "find another lawyer."

Charles was absolutely fantastic in helping my husband and I close on a condo. Charles took the…read moretime to explain all the details of the contract. He also meticulously aggregated the ridiculous amount of fees from the seller, the title company and every single nook and cranny part of a mortgage and real estate transaction process and provided us with a single number that we had to get a cashier's check for. Once we were at the closing, the selling agent watched as Charles explained and advised us on several pieces of the contracts and remarked at the end, "it's good to see an actual lawyer advising! We've done 14 of these closings for the same building and he's the only one that actually advised his clients!" My friend who also purchased in the same building mentioned that she had to get 3 different cashier's checks and write 5 different personal checks during the closing. It's these little things on top of his professionalism and thorough nature that made us very very glad that we went with Charles.

I worked with Guy Menahem on my immigration status. We started the process from being out of status…read moreto all the way to getting my citizenship. When I first came to Guy's office, he was located on Canal Street, NY, had his own office back then. I cannot say anything bad about him because he always: - called me reminding about our upcoming meetings; - emailed/called about any missing documents; - spent time with me in his office working on my paperwork (most attorneys do not spend enough time with their clients, they delegate the job to their assistants) - gave me a good payment plan; Remember, a lot of attorneys are really hard to get a hold of. You might get tired of calling their office and talking to their front desk attendants. Guy would email, call or leave a voicemail. It was just pleasant to talk to him, he is not arrogant like some others. I went to a few other attorneys before being referred to Guy, I have seen lawyers who look down clients/potential clients who are in tough situations. Plus, he speaks a few other languages besides English. That helps him understand your culture a lot better if he happens to speak your language. From my personal experience, there was never a case where we forgot to include some evidence, or a material, or a form, etc. when sending documents. He always went through the forms (or anything that we were sending to the USCIS) a few times thoroughly. If we did not include anything, then we simply did not have it at the time, but he never forgot any attachments. That is one of the main things you want to make sure of, because there are so many cases where lawyers mess up and clients bear the consequences. When you talk to him you will feel his friendliness, his broad and specific knowledge on immigration cases and laws. He went to Duke University, I think it was in top 5 law schools when I talked to him the first time. Last, I never doubted his knowledge or expertise. Have you ever had that feeling after talking to a lawyer that gets you thinking: "Does he/she really know this area in depth?" Guy never gave me that feeling.
