"Ma Na Ma Nah...do doo de doo doo--Menomonie!" (The Muppet Show)…read more Statler: "Is she singing? I thought she was choking!" Waldorf: "At her age, it's hard to tell the difference! DOHOHOHO!" If you just sang that ditty in your head like the Muppets, you're already in the right mood for a visit to the Menomonie Food Co-op Market. This market is as effortlessly fun and cool as Janice from Electric Mayhem, but with less trout pout and more lentil dip. "Fer sure!" Here are the highlights that you really don't want to miss! THE BREAD SITUATION: The artisanal rosemary sourdough loaf from One Love Bread is the stuff boy bands are made of. This bread is basically what happens if you roll Harry Styles in flour and water. It really deserves its own Manchester disco-dancing fan club, but for now I'll just sing its praises. DAIRY AND DAIRY ALTERNATIVES: I was totally NSYNC with this section. I'm not even sure what plants half of them came from, but they looked intriguing. Had I brought a cooler, my fridge would have undergone quite the calcium glow up! SODA ALTERNATIVES: This was the real Big Time Rush! We studied the sodas for a solid ten minutes like raccoons who'd discovered a vending machine. There are flavors and brands here I've never seen in the wild...some with names I can't pronounce (but absolutely bought)! The store was very clean and organized, and if the employees had been any friendlier, they'd have been covered in yellow feathers. In summary: great bread, fantastic selection, kind humans, and a soda aisle that deserves its own documentary. 5/5, will return. Probably for more bread. Definitely for more weird soda. Statler: "That was a long review!" Waldorf: "I wanted it to end five minutes ago! DOHOHOHO!" Ma Na Ma Nah.

This is the first Festival Foods I've been to - originally going specifically because of them…read morehaving a cardboard recycling bin outside and needing to get rid of a LOT of moving boxes, and originally also avoiding festival foods as it looked like a sort of low end bad quality grocery store. To my surprise, this might be my favorite grocery store I've been to! Love the layout and the sort of forced organized movement of shoppers, they have a massive amount of baked goods, deli picks, and prepared meals, a lot of items other stores don't carry for some reason (stuff I used to find VERY easily in most grocery stores), good prices, and a nice atmosphere of the older days. They also sell funny turkey hats sometimes for a marathon they do for charity.

About 3 months ago i got ricotta cheese to go with my spaghetti , which I didn't bother looking at…read morebecause who really does, put it on, my spaghetti. It was two weeks old , ruined my whole meal. I figured it was just a fluke , so I didn't make a complaint, about a month ago I had a salad which I got cottage cheese for and without thinking dumb , some of the cottage cheese on my salad , which was two weeks old , sour and ruined the salad. Now there was 2 meals ruined thought to myself. They probably don't want to hear my complaint so I didn't say anything. About two weeks ago I bought cheese that was sliced like Kraft, i was gonna make burgers, the cheese had expired september of 2024, i thought that's just crazy. So I brought in the manager , and his name was Jon at the festival foods on mall drive. He called me a liar right to my face, he said there was no way I just bought that cheese there a couple of days ago. I told him why would i lie? I told him about all 3 experiences. He didn't offer me anything, i think not only should I have been offered cottage.Cheese ricotta, cheese and mild cheddar cheese. But this should have to buy me a meal or something.Because I had to throw away those meals. Now when I go to festival foods, when I have to I look at every date of everything and always grab from the back.I find old stuff all the time and try to do most of my shopping at HyV. Thanks for nothing Jon.
