My sister and…read moreher husband also use this business for their personal as well as the beach house she and I share after the death of both parents. About a month ago, my brother-in-law said he would have some paperwork for me to add to my taxes and would get them to me as soon as possible. Since he is busy and it is getting close to crunch time, I decided to call Fargis myself to get whatever documents they may have for me. I called and was transferred to a woman who did not identify herself. I tried to tell her what I needed. And this is what she said to me: "YOUR MOTHER IS DEAD..... WE DON'T DO DEAD PEOPLE'S TAXES." I was dumbfounded. I am still grieving the loss of my mother. There is absolutely no justification that this would be appropriate to say to anyone. Later, I called the office back to speak with Mr. Mike Fargis himself. He was very apologetic, but when I told him the exact words said to me in such a cold, heartless way, I thought the man was going to have a heart attack. By the end of the conversation, I was in tears. I told him I would never forget those words or that she would say them to anyone in such a callous way. I could get her name and post it but it doesn't really matter who said it. What matters is that anyone in that office represents the business, thus the owner, and if they condone this way of treating people, it is absolutely unacceptable.

I worked with the organization for roughly six (6) years and throughout that time Onie was always…read moregreat, despite her/them having a disruptive tendency to sometimes forget slight details about my arrangements that would slow things down. This year, within a month of the April 18th tax deadline, she suddenly dropped me from the firm after a debate over the phone about this years' financial planning. Onie blamed me for incorrectly formatting materials she needed. I based this documentation entirely off of the previously filed tax documents and professional advice she had given me, but she had genuinely forgotten such even occurred... After a mild argument about such where I was treated with a very condescending tone, she hung up the phone on me altogether. Nevertheless, I provided her with the various revisions she requested later that evening, but the following morning I was notified that she would no longer be providing tax preparation services via email. I called her office the next morning to discuss the issue in order to not dissolve a six (6) year relationship over one trivial phone call. The secretary stated that she was currently busy, and that she would return my call once available. Onie never returned my call. I understand that she is very busy and seemed quite stressed at the time of our last phone call, but I find the entire handling of the situation to be extremely unprofessional. I'm disappointed that she would ever drop a client so effortlessly, especially near the deadline in the heart of tax season! Proceed with caution...
