I am writing this letter to respectfully share our recent experience with Lorenzo's Lawn & Landscape, LLC, in the hope that it may serve as a fair and honest reflection of how this company conducted business with us.
My wife and I, both senior citizens, recently hired Lorenzo's to perform landscaping work on our front yard. One of our specific concerns--clearly communicated during the planning phase--was the replacement of two bushes. Lorenzo's team proceeded with the job, including planting the new bushes. After that, we were charged $431.57, and proceeded with the payment. However, once the work was completed, we were never advised that the bushes required regular watering, a crucial detail that, as non-gardeners without a green thumb, we simply did not know.
Lorenzo, unfortunately, assumed we understood the care instructions, but no guidance was ever provided. A few days later, we noticed the bushes turning dark in color, so we promptly took pictures and contacted Lorenzo to ask for his input. He responded by instructing us to start watering them twice daily and to check back in with him after 2-3 weeks.
We diligently followed his instructions. However, nearly three weeks later, the bushes clearly had not survived. We attempted to reach him via email with no response. Finally, we called and asked that the dead bushes be removed and the now-empty spots be covered with stones. His workers came and completed the task.
To our surprise and disappointment, we received an email the next day with a bill for $189.11. We were never informed in advance that there would be a charge for this follow-up service, nor do we believe it is fair--especially given that the bushes failed due to lack of proper instruction and guidance on the company's part.
We feel strongly that this situation was handled unfairly, especially considering our age and the trust we placed in this professional service. What we hoped would be a simple, well-managed project ended with frustration, lack of accountability, and an unexpected charge for what feels like a remedy to their own oversight.
We share this not with malice, but out of disappointment and a sincere hope that others are more clearly informed and treated more respectfully than we were. read more
