The photos were elegant, and sharp, and he truly captured the feeling, and crowd, and the fun of their wedding. When we started planning our wedding in 2013, I didn't even research other photographers. I got in touch with John, first, hoping he could work with us, and would work with us. He got back to me immediately, and even remembered us from the wedding in 2012--of course my husband was the best man, so it helped :-)--and although he was working on a project in Africa, he was happy to talk to us about our needs, and the estimates and dates, etc. We actually wanted something a bit unique in terms of a wedding photographer, and a special type of package. He was so happy to accommodate, and work with our needs. Being so busy before the big day, it was wonderful to receive an email from John confirming the when and where's. On the day, John was early, and immediately went to work capturing every second, and interesting visual. As the bride, I didn't even feel him there, although when I saw the photos, he was EVERYWHERE. And captured every moment...so many more moments than I could have ever been aware of. There were some photos that were so amazing of guests at the wedding that we had them printed and framed for them. He was so enthusiastic....and his work so beautiful...that I made a mental note in case I had any need for a photographer in the future. When my husband turned 50, we decided to host his extended family of 26 people ranging in age from 1 to 91 at a local hotel named Mohonk. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture our children with their cousins and all 6 of their grandparents. In an absolute stroke of luck, John was available the Saturday I needed him because he was shooting a Friday night wedding that weekend. John brought a lovely assistant, who also had a camera and took beautiful shots from angles very different from John's. He met us at 3 pm down by the beach and took casual, fun and lively pictures. Then after a brief break to clean up, we all met for the more formal pictures. He came up with some really creative ways to include the physical beauty of the resort into the pictures. There are pictures on the balconies, throughout the gardens and even spread out within the garden taken from up high. After we finished the formal portraits, he stayed to take candids at a cocktail party, lobster bake and bonfire. The pictures are beyond stunning and he was incredibly fun and easy to work with. He shoots in a way that focuses on smaller interactions and emotional moments. Absolutely recommended without a moment's hesitation!!!

He didn't take pictures of at least 1/3 of the guests at the wedding (several of the tables were missed). He had discouraged me from taking table photos and, while not guaranteeing that everyone would be captured, had implied that at least most of the people would be in pictures. 2/3 is technically most, but that's awful. Why not get a few large pictures of different angles of the room? Even a glimpse of someone is better than no proof at all that they attended. He didn't even get some of the key people that I expressly said to be sure to capture. And honestly, the pictures he did take were not as good as those in his samples. I am not a confrontational person, but when we spoke on the phone, I could not get through to him in any way. It makes me so upset to this day. Good thing I had hired a videographer separately - the videographer was excellent, and all other elements of my wedding were everything I hoped for a more (thankfully). Don't be fooled by Seth's friendly demeanor. Photos are a very important part of a wedding, and he is neither talented nor trustworthy.

A combo of non-cheesy poses, fun candids + simple décor shots. With the posed shots, it took a while to trust Jash's directions (2 one-hour pre-wedding sessions actually!). Poses felt awkward. But he knows what he's doing; the pictures came back looking natural. Without those sessions to allow us to get used to the camera, the wedding day would've been a lot less comfortable. The day-of, Jashim arrived + went straight to work. Other than the few times he purposely pulled us aside to get specific shots, he went unnoticed. We went about our evening; he captured it all without getting in the way. His turnaround is fast. He had a few teaser pictures on his blog within 2 weeks, the balance online 2 weeks later. His prices are very fair + competitive. He made himself available, easily reachable to answer questions, bounce ideas off of, etc... Didn't show any impatience/frustration (even though I was a very needy bride!). Having first obsessed over Jash's blog and now our pictures, I can tell that in addition to his style and to some degree his personality, he also reflects the couple's personality in each pic very well. He doesn't take cookie-cutter pictures, and while there is definitely a common Jashim thread, they are all very different from each other. I know ours represent us and our wedding perfectly. The one thing I would maybe complain about now (if this even is a complaint) is that the pictures are so great, I can't get enough of them and I want more, more, more!!! Couldn't be happier with Jashim. We had high expectations; with no videographer, it was crucial that the photos come back PERFECT! He didn't just meet them; he exceeded them by far. Will be recommending him for years! Bottom line, if he's available on your wedding day, you would be a fool not to hire him!

We were fortunate to have been selected as part of a trial run in his family documentary section, and I will say that this guy definitely knows what he's doing and has not only an eye for quality but a passion for photography that's clear in each image he captures! Jashim spent a long long day with us as a family, and that's not always easy for someone who isn't use to being around children. Immediately he took the time to connect with my kids, ages 4 and 7, and took the time to make them comfortable and put them at ease as he cautiously took snaps of them both candid and posed. He was able to capture our family dynamics, and when we looked back at the images, we were so happy with them. They were outside and beyond the typical posed family portraits, the pictures had life and a story behind it, and I can't thank Jashim enough for his hard work and efforts behind it. Leandro's photography is great…read more The problem was that he didn't show because I couldn't wire him the money during my rehearsal dinner because Wells Fargo was closed on Saturday Night. I never was given a contract to sign. Just told that I would get a contract when he was paid. Whatever, so I gave him a check and forgetting that he didn't cash it, I removed the account as cash for all the Vendors on the day of the wedding which was Sunday. Who cashes a check on a Saturday? I couldn't put it back so I transferred the money from another account so Leandro could get his payment but the banks were closed and he said "if you don't pay me in 1 hour, i am not showing up!" This was at my rehearsal dinner!!! I ended up with another photographer of three available who took cash at job site. I would love to know if anyone had an event he shot on June 8, 2014 because he left my job to go to yours. If you had no other plans on a Sunday of June 8th, except my Wedding; why would you quit and refuse to take cash at site of event? tell me only pay pal... Then tell me you are going to a Birthday Party? Leandro only paypals, no charge card processor probably because this is his side job and there are fees to charge machines. I just don't paypal because paypal doesn't have credit card protection and they wouldn't refund my money for package that was never delivered but left at my door supposedly. Oh, and he kept my deposit of $600 as a Engagement Photo Fee, which was included as part of the Wedding Shoot Package. This was agreed but only had we not used him for the Wedding; not if he found something better to do and not show up. Bottom line is... Leandro is good photographer so many would wanna use him and there is a chance that he could find other jobs if you book him and wait to pay him last minute. They had the aesthetic we were going for, more light and airy, and their book was gorgeous. We had our engagement photos with them at Skyland Manor and I was so blown away. We are super traditional and did not want a first look, they definitely tried to sway us into one, but understood in the end and left us alone about the decision, lol. I am very very thrilled about my photos and I am so excited to post them here. They were very quick which I appreciated as we wanted to get to our cocktail hour. There is also not a single photo I dislike, genuinely. Luis was our photographer and he also did our engagement shoot so we were already very comfortable with him. He has a dry sense of humor which I enjoyed, and we had no issues feeling comfortable with him and posing, etc. He also knew I didn't want a ton go group shots because we had a massive bridal party and again, that cocktail hour was calling our name, lol! I love getting photos taken, but my fiancé, now husband, is not a natural at all, but having had the engagement shoot behind us, he was relaxed and comfortable, and i think the photos look really natural and showcase us so well! They also caught a lot of the details I worked so hard on, which was a huge plus for me as a DIY bride without a planner. They also accommodated ALL of our date changes without any issues or up-charges, very very important! We did not get our video yet, so no comment on that as of now!

He was reminded again the day of the wedding about photos that We requested and were important to me and the groom. All he did was yes me to death!!! Well, those pictures never happened!!! Shame on Milton Gil Photographers!!! Disgrace!!! The photographer never captured the pictures he and I discussed months before the wedding and the day of the wedding he was reminded again. As the mother of the groom, I explained how important these photos were to us and we were totally ignored!!!!It's taken some time for me to voice my disappointment but it's just the BEGINNING of me bringing my annoyed, angry, disappointed feelings forward!!!! I will share my disappointment first by leaving this review and then I'll continue to share elsewhere! I rate Milton Gil a big "F" for failure for quality of work, ( sad when there was a custom lighting package we had at the Florentine Gardens but instead, his creativity with lighting(seen in other work) was never utilized by the photographer! He cut off half a head, half a shoe in a picture, lipstick in wrong places, photos far away and I could go on), customer service and the photographer's tone, demeanor and lack of caring!!! The photographer needs to take photos of rocks because he's sure the hell not a people person and definitely did not give us his undivided attention at my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. They were treated like cattle and that includes the entire wedding party. Something one would not expect on a glorious wedding day! DISGRACE!!! Shame on you!!!! Never use Milton Gil!!!!
