Ron's place is AMAZING!!! This is the heart of Yakima! The team members here are great and…read morefriendly. They will not stress or hassle you. Browse and enjoy the great collection they have. [Calendar] Ron's publish and prints out monthly calendar for you to stop by and pickup for free. As you enter, there's usually "FREE" monthly comics, newsletter, and near the front register, they color print out a bunch of flyers to let you know of the events going on each day of the Month!!! This is great for those who wants to know about new comic arrivals, new coin arrivals, hot wheels, magic, yugioh, etc... [Board Games] They have a nice collection of Board games at an AMAZING price!!! Their margins are so low, they just love to see their customers happy. For the Holidays we bought the expansion to Mysterium for our friends. Recently we bought Carcassonne+Xpac for another as well. Smash-Up lovers beware, they even carry the "Even Bigger Geekier Box" for the same decent price if you were to search elsewhere, by why ask for delivery from those smiley vans that would throw your package out their door, when you can stop by here and pick the different boxes and selection they have! They also have a shelf for used and discounted games (but you'll have to search for some great deals). [Card Games - TCG/CCG] (Magic The Gathering) There is a GREAT MtG community here in Yakima and Ron's is at the heart of it. There is FNM (Friday Night Magic), officially licensed by WotC/HAS. FNM is every Friday, sign-ups start at 6:30pm. There's a good mix of: Draft, Pauper, Pioneer, Pre-Release, Commander events on different Friday's of the month. Pre-Release will bring out 30-40+ people and the cost is a LOT lower then what you'd pay for compared to Seattle, Arizona, Anaheim locations. Very small margins gained here. Amazing community to be a part of. Players have been so dedicated they even create a FB page to keep everyone updated on what events on going on prior to FNM for that week. During the week you can see people playing Commander and other formats at the tables in the back. Everyone is friendly so come on out! (Yugioh) Every Saturday at 12:00pm, there's a Yugioh tournament. Lots of people come out and partake in this event. [Comics] Lots and I mean LOTS of comics. Get your weekly dose of your subscription and back issues updated by stopping by and asking for holds as you need. Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Indie, give Ron's a glance if you're looking for something. [COINS] They have a huge huge section dedicated to Gold, Silver, bills, and other coin rarities. They give you the market value and let you know (no lies, no frills) on current buy/sell prices. Great way to start a collection by stopping by and getting to know more about this segment of the collectible market. [Supplies] Ron's continue to keep their stock as updated as possible. Gaming supplies, card sleeves, protectors, deckboxes, boxes, comic bags. For a Small Town like Yakima, Ron's IS HUUUUUUUGE!!! Truly the HEART of the community (Thanks Rons for also continually volunteering and donating to City Events)!!!!

This is one of those shops that you love to go into because it has stuff everywhere, comics,…read moreSportscards, trading cards, toys and supplies. It's got so much stuff though that it's a little overwhelming. You could spend hours looking and not see everything. Staff was very friendly and attentive even the owner Ron was in there chatting with customers. Prices were good, I bought 3 1987 Topps baseball vending boxes (unsearched) for $5 each, that's a steal. Also picked up 4 pack of 55 point top loaders for $4.95 each. Will definitely be back when in town

There are two book sellers I have loved to visit for many years. One is in Portland or used to be…read more It's name is Powell's Books. It's hard to say if it remains intact in the trying times that city condones as of late. This I do not know. I no longer travel to Portland for pleasure. This shoppe is the other. The Archives. It's a place of solitude where you can be inundated with books. You can wander there as long as you like. No one will intrude on you. Help is available for the askance. If books are not your particular cup of tea on any given day many other amusements await. Video this, Audio that and several genres of either. The store is ever changing. Who knows what treasures abound this day or next week? You're looking for what book? Of course you can't find it! How could you? I've been here countless times and I seldom try very hard to find something particular. I query the wizard behind the book sellers desk, (you may have to look hard to see him), he may have what you seek, but not on a shelf. Perhaps tucked away for one reason or another. It may here but not for sale per se. Maybe it is on a shelf and still seems to be invisible. If it's here, he will know that and where. If it isn't, it's likely he can obtain a copy. Book sellers have stores that are like the multitudes you see, you know, in strip malls, in boutiques, and so on. It seems someone has a stamp and just stamps one in this city, then the next city and so on. Boxes, little boxes and they all look just the same. You get my drift. That, thank the Gods is NOT THE CASE here. The owner is a purveyor of books. He eats, breathes, buys, sells and covets books. Yes, he is a wizard. Pooh, pooh you say, I can't blame you. I may have just happened upon a review like this one thought pooh pooh it as well. If you disagree with me friend, you haven't been in his shoppe that's all. There isn't another place like The Archives. There isn't another wizard like the one operating this shoppe. If books pique your interest with the tiniest twinge remember, the magic in the world is fleeting and fading. "Seize the day."
