Didn't know I would be required by law to take a class to get my motorcycle license, so was not very happy, but nonetheless booked my 2 day class with Lore based on positive reviews and the Biddeford location which is close to my house. The class was a mix of reading and studying the laws and safe operation of a motorcycle followed by a good amount of driving of a motorcycle on a circuit over both days. It was quite a bit of work! Both instructors, Terry and Willy were excellent and between them had about 80 years of riding experience. They got us thru point by point what it takes to pass both the written and driving tests. I believe almost everyone passed both sections and got their licenses. I did and am now very happy I went thru the course as there really is a lot you need to learn to properly operate a motorcycle safely. Lore has their training system down pat so if you need your motorcycle license I highly recommend you use them. read more

This class is not for anyone without experience. It's rushed and if you can't keep up then they will kick you out.

10/10 - I cannot recommend Lore enough for 1st time riders. I took my course in the Lisbon, ME location with Josh, Doc and JJ, having 3 range coaches make such a difference in learning how to create safe and fun riding habits. I am a first time rider and having a range coach at the start of an exercise to explain the exercise, a range coach at the end of the exercise to give pointers when needed, and a range coach overseeing the course to make sure all riders and coaches are safe make such a difference in my learning. After each exercise there was a period of reflection to review the good, the bad and the fun :) The knowledge, guidance and encouragement that was provided by this group was so beneficial in setting a safe and fun base to start riding. 10/10 if you want to learn to ride. read more

IF YOU'RE A WOMAN, DON'T GO TO LORE. I took the rider course with Lore last fall. My dad was an avid rider when I was little and it's always been something I wanted to do. We had two instructors, one was great. The other, Hai, was aggressive and liked to yell, A LOT, but only at myself and the other woman in the course. We were riding the same as the men. Not only did it make it not fun, but it was an unsafe, stressful learning environment. I wish I had read the other female reviews about Hai before taking the course. It would have saved me time and money. I'm going to a different school this summer, some misogynistic instructor with a Napoleon complex is not going to keep me from reaching my riding goals. I went into the Biddeford class with zero riding experience. I am a great mountain biker and enjoy driving a stick but I had never ridden a real motorcycle before in my life (I'm in my 40s). It was challenging -- but fun! Josh was great and encouraging. At the end of the second day, I confidently managed the "box figure 8" and other skills and got my endorsement! My body is sore but I am happy that I took the class :). read more

The instructors were great, however, due to a very short time to get everyone up to speed, things move very fast. It's advertised as a beginner class but more than half of my class had experience either on motorcycles seeking a license, or had dirtbike experience. We were assured that this class is for true beginners (there were 4 of us out of 7) but the skills were taught very quickly with little time to practice before moving on to the next skill, which required mastery of previous skills learned. If we had trouble combining skills there was very little time to get them down before moving on. They don't tell you that if you dump the bike 3 times, you're kicked out of the class regardless of how you've done previously and circumstance. This was not beginner, it was intermediate and adding another day or half day would've helped true beginners succeed. We needed more time to apply what we learned. read more

Great 2 day basic riders course had total beginners in my class and by the end of day 2 we where all able to ride proficiently and passed our state exams for our license endorsements. Will was very knowledgeable and patient. Great experience over all! read more
