The fun begins when you walk in and hand sanitizer is forced on you, because everything there is so sanitary. There are 4-5 women at the entrance who are the equivalent of Wal-Mart greeters (Gestapo).
When this was just a periodic rummage sale, it was an okay place to shop. Now that they're open once a week, they've become greedy.
I went up to pay and waited patiently while the Gestapo carried on a conversation and ignored me. When a gentleman walked up behind me, they all jumped to help him. Five old women and an unaccompanied older man=Senior Dating Game. I was invisible. Ooh! This man was donating an extra dollar! Please wait while we honk the bike horn!
The gentleman left, and I was finally acknowledged: "What do you need?" Well, I guess the two records in one hand and money in the other did not tip her off. That, and the fact that I had been standing in front of the cashier for five minutes.
They used to charge 25 cents for vinyl records. Today, each of their OLD vinyl records had a note with an eBay price on them. I picked out two 45rpm records, expecting to pay 50 cents. When I went to pay, the lady told me $3 each. I told her I thought the notes were from someone's yard sale leftovers. She said no, those were their prices. I told her they weren't worth it and handed them back.
This was very similar to my previous visit there, so I won't be back. Ever. read more
